    WHEATFIELD - Arline F. Walck, a former secretary who was active in her church, died Thursday in Northgate Manor Health Care Facility, where she had been a patient for two years. She was 100.

    Born Arline Blank in the Town of Niagara, she attended schools in the LaSalle section of Niagara Falls and in Wheatfield, and later attended Niagara Business College.

    She worked as a secretary at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls and at Buffalo Garment Co.

    Mrs. Walck was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and a Bible class. She organized the church library in 1962. She dabbled in writing Christian music and also enjoyed reading and traveling.

    Her husband, Hubert Walck, died in 1990.

    Surviving are a son, Lester of Sanborn; a sister, Josephine Stange of North Tonawanda; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    Age 100 in Northgate Manor, Wheatfield, formerly of Lockport Road, Sanborn, on December 15, 2005; daughter of the late Rudolph and Ida (Wittcopp) Blank. She was employed as a secretary at Nabisco and Buffalo Garment Co. Arline was a devoted homemaker, life long member St. Peter's Evagelical Lutheran Church, Wheatfield; taught Sunday school and Bible class, enjoyed reading, writing Christian music and traveling. Survivors include a son, Lester (Patricia) Walck of Sanborn; grandson, James Walck; three great-grandchildren, John, Ann and Sarah; a sister, Josephine Stange of North Tonawanda and a nephew; predeceased by her husband, Hubert Walck in 1990; daughter-in-law, Sally Walck; grandson, Robert Walck; and niece, Shirley Lange. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Gamache' on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, Wheatfield, with no prior visitation. Arrangements by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.

    Former Highway Official Dies
    Rudolph Blank, 66, formerly superintendent of highways for the Town of Niagara for 20 years, died early today at the family home, Tuscarora road, after a long period of ill health. The funeral plans have not been completed. Mr. Blank was born in Germany, a son of the late William and Fredericka , Blank, and came to this country with his parents when he was only four years old. They settled near Alabama in Orleans county but shortly afterward removed to the Tuscarora road area in Niagara county, where he had resided since, Mr. Blank was well known throughout this section, having conducted a farming implement sales business for many years in addition to being a successful farmer. He was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran church at Walmore, N. Y., and its various organizations. Mr. Blank is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Blank, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Arline Walck, of Sanborn, N. Y., Mrs. Evelyn Walck, of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Josephine Haseley, of Sanborn, N. Y., and Eleanor Tubbe, at home; one son, Richard Tubbe, at home; three brothers, John, of Sanborn, William, of Gasport, N. Y., and Gustave Blank, of Niagara Falls, and four grandchildren.

    BLANK-Mrs. Fredricka (sic) Blank, wife of the late William Blank, died at the home of her son, John Blank of the Lockport road, February 8, 1932, aged 86 years. She is survived by four sons, Rudolph and Gustave, town of Niagara, John of the town of Wheatfield, William of the town of Royalton; one sister, Mrs. August Badrow (sic) of Bergholtz, N. Y.; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive. Funeral services at the home Wednesday, February l0th at 2:00 p. m. and at 2:30 p. m. at St. Peter's Evangelical church at Walmore, N. Y. Interment at Walmore, N. Y. Rev. Edward Grabau will officiate.

    CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIES AT FAMILY HOME IN TUSCARORA ROAD
    Christian F. Wittcopp Changed Spelling of Name in Order to Enlist.
    Christian F. Wittcopp, 81 years old, one of the few remaining Civil War veterans of the town of Niagara, died Saturday afternoon at the family home in the Tuscarora road. Funeral services will be held from the home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Edward Graubau (sic), of the Walmore church, will officiate. Interment will be in Shawnee cemetery.
    At the outbreak of the Civil War Mr. Wittcopp tried to enlist on several occasions but each time was told that he was too young. He was a large boy for his age and finally decided to conceal his identity by changing the spelling of his name and his address. The name was originally spelled Wittkopp but he changed the "k" to a "c" and told the recruiting officer he came from Canada. He had retained the changed spelling of his name ever since. He enlisted in Company H. 20th, Regiment, U. S. Infantry, and soon became a corporal. He participated in many engagements and at the close of the war was given an honorable discharge. He is survived by three sons, Albert, of Cambria; Henry, of Bergholtz, and Philip, of the town of Niagara; and three daughters, Mrs. William Camann, of Niagara. Falls; Mrs. William Schultz, of North Tonawanda, and Miss Estelle Wittcopp, of the Tuscarora road, with whom he made his home.

    SERVICES FOR VETERAN
    Last Rites for C. F. Wittcopp, Soldier in Civil War, Held at Home.
    SANBORN, Jan. 30-Funeral services, for Christian F. Wittcopp, 81, one of the few remaining Civil war veterans of the town of Niagara, who died Saturday at the family home in the Tuscarora road, were held from the home yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Edward Graubau (sic), of the Walmore church, officiated. Interment was in Shawnee cemetery. The bearers were Raymond Schultz, Norman Pockelwaldt, Arthur Wittcopp, Erwin Pockelwaldt, Clarence Wittcopp and Edward Pockelwaldt. Mr. Wittcopp served throughout the Civil war. His loss is mourned by a wide circle of friends and relatives
