Philip Zeiger of La Salle, brother of
L. Zeiger, sixty-three years of ago, was
drowned at La Salle Saturday evening.
Mr. Zeiger resided on a farm a short
distance, this side of La Salle. About
three years ago while riding in a wagon
he was thrown out backward, by the
tipping of a seat. and.striking on his
head, received injuries which seriously
effected his memory. It was his habit
to take long walks, and Saturday morning
lie started out, going first to La
Salle, then" to Suspension Bridge, Pletcher
Corners and, Lewiston, returning to
La Salle some time in the evening. One
of Mr. Zeiger's son's-in-law is engaged
in building a ltfjdgc across Cayuga
Creek, and it is supposed thnt he went
on to the bridge, and either walked off
or .sitting down, dropped to sleep from
fatigue, and fell off. He was first miss-
ed Saturday afternoon, and traced over
the route mentioned above. After it
was found he had retuned to LaSalle,
search was made in the creek and his
body recovered early Sunday morning.
Coroner Eisheimer held an inquest Mon-
day.
