(nee Pokelwaldt) Haseley; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Walck of Lockport, Mrs. Richard (Judith) Brooks and Jean Wyles, both of Buffalo; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Voelker of Bergholz and Mrs. Norman (Mabel) Harder of North Tonawanda; three granddaughters, Mrs. Marc (Debbie) Gillespie, Donna and Doreen Walck; one great-granddaughter, Danielle Gillespie. Pre-deceased by one sister, Evelyn Brown and one brother Melvin Haseley.
    Friends may call at the Hamp Funeral Home corner of Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, Thursday 7-9 and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, at 11 a.m. in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bergholz with Rev. Lyle E. Larson officiating. Interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Development Fund of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are by the Dubois Funeral Home.

    HASELEY-Irma L. (Pokelwaldt) Age 91 of Buffalo, formerly of Wheatfield, was called peacefully in her sleep on January 8, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Judith Haseley Brooks in Buffalo. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on February 28, 1915 to the late Herman and Helena (Wittkop) Pokelwaldt. Member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bergholz, and was an accomplished seamstress and cook. Beloved wife of the late Clarence R. Haseley, who died December 25, 1985. Survivors include three daughters: Lois A. (Donald) Walck of Lockport, Judith Haseley Brooks and Jean Haseley Wynes, both of Buffalo; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also pre-deceased by four brothers: William, Irving, Edward and Norman Pokelwaldt; and a sister, Olivia Pokelwaldt. Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Tuesday from 7-9 PM. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 AM in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Rd. and Rohr St. in Bergholz. Interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.     H. W. Pokelwaldt Fatally Stricken
    TONAWANDA -Herman W. Pokelwaldt, 82, of 60 Cleveland Ave., died unexpectedly early today (Oct. 26, 1956) after suffering a heart attack at the Columbus-McKinnon Chain County, where he was employed. City firemen administered oxygen and took Mr. Pokelwaldt to DeGraff Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Born in Germany, Mr. Pokelwaldt formerly resided at Walmore before moving to this city 19 years ago. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Johnsburg. Surviving are his wife, Adelaide Winke (sic) Pokelwaldt; three sons, Irving Pokelwaldt, Lockport, Edward Pokelwalt, (sic) Niagara Falls, and Norman Pokelwaldt, North Tonawanda; a daughter, Mrs. Clara Haseley, Bergholtz; two stepsons, Arthur Schmeichel, Buffalo, and Wilbert Schmeichel; this city; a stepdaughter.     Aged Bergholtz Resident Passes
    BERGHOLTZ, April 17,-Mrs. Matilda Wienke, nee Retzlaff, 74 years old, wife of Albert Wienke, died today at her home, in Cayuga road after a brief illness. She was stricken with paralysis Sunday. She was born in Campow (sic), Germany, and had resided in this village for the past 51 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran church and the Ladies' Aid society.
    Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edward Jagow and Mrs. William Eggert, both of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Albert Schmeichel, of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Christ (sic) Haseley, of Sanborn, and Mrs. Gustav Moll, of Bergholtz; five sons, Adolph, of Sanborn, John, Hugo and Reinhard, all of Bergholtz. and Albert, of North Tonawanda; 34 grandchildren; seven great granchildren (sic); two brothers, Fred, of Grand Haven, Mich., and Edward, of Sanborn. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p. m. from the home and at 2:30 from St. James church. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Interment will be in St. James cemetery.

    Christian F. Wittcopp, 81 years old, one of the few remaining Civil War veterans of the town of Niagara, died Saturday afternoon at the family home in the Tuscarora road. Funeral services will be held from the home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Edward Graubau (sic), of the Walmore church, will officiate. Interment will be in Shawnee cemetery.
    At the outbreak of the Civil War Mr. Wittcopp tried to enlist on several occasions but each time was told that he was too young. He was a large boy for his age and finally decided to conceal his identity by changing the spelling of his name and his address. The name was originally spelled Wittkopp but he changed the "k" to a "c" and told the recruiting officer he came from Canada. He had retained the changed spelling of his name ever since. He enlisted in Company H. 20th, Regiment, U. S. Infantry, and soon became a corporal. He participated in many engagements and at the close of the war was given an honorable discharge. He is survived by three sons, Albert, of Cambria; Henry, of Bergholtz, and Philip, of the town of Niagara; and three daughters, Mrs. William Camann, of Niagara. Falls; Mrs. William Schultz, of North Tonawanda, and Miss Estelle Wittcopp, of the Tuscarora road, with whom he made his home.

    SERVICES FOR VETERAN
    Last Rites for C. F. Wittcopp, Soldier in Civil War, Held at Home.
    SANBORN, Jan. 30-Funeral services, for Christian F. Wittcopp, 81, one of the few remaining Civil war veterans of the town of Niagara, who died Saturday at the family home in the Tuscarora road, were held from the home yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Edward Graubau (sic), of the Walmore church, officiated. Interment was in Shawnee cemetery. The bearers were Raymond Schultz, Norman Pockelwaldt, Arthur Wittcopp, Erwin Pockelwaldt, Clarence Wittcopp and Edward Pockelwaldt. Mr. Wittcopp served throughout the Civil war. His loss is mourned by a wide circle of friends and relatives
