    Walter A. Wienke, 92, of Jagow Road, a Sanborn farmer and businessman, died Tuesday (Nov. 5, 1996) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
    Born in Sanborn, Wienke lived there most of his life.
    He married Frances Ferchen in 1930, and they moved to Ward Road. Twenty-five years later, they built a home on Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn, where he operated the 60-acre Wienke Farm with his bother, Clarence.
    A pond on the farm allowed the brothers to irrigate all their fruit and vegetable crops, which were highly regarded in the area.
    In 1936, the brothers started a greenhouse business, growing flowers and vegetable plants for nurseries.
    Wienke was a spokesman for the Market Growers Co-Op and is credited with helping save the Niagara Falls Farmers Market from closing in 1963.
    In his younger days, Wienke played the sousaphone in the well-known Gombert Band.
    He was a member of Abiding Saviour Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. He was a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where he served on the vestry as trustee and president.
    He was an exempt member of Sanborn Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Niagara County Extension Service.
    His wife died in 1994.
    Wienke is survived by a son, Glenn L. of Sanborn; a sister, Hilda Ferchen of Tucson, AZ.; three granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday in Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Ruie Road and Cambridge Avenue, North Tonawanda. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton

    Frances A. Wienke, 84, formerly of Sanborn, died Friday (Nov. 18, 1994) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after she suffered a heart attack in her home on Jagow Road. A native of Wheatfield, the former Frances A. Ferchen lived in Sanborn until 1984. Mrs. Wienke was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church of North Tonawanda and a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Niagara Falls. Survivors include her husband, Walter A. Wienke; a son, Glenn of Sanborn; a brother, Fremont Ferchen of Bergholz; four sisters, Edna Zimmerman of Grand Island, Mildred Gensler of Port Richey, Fla., Gladys Clayton of Niagara Falls, Ont., and Esther Thiemecke; three granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.     SANBORN - Adolph G. Wienke, 95, of 2652 Saunders Settlement Road, died Saturday (Oct. 2, 1976) in Grand Island Manor after a long illness. He was born in Stateen, Germany, and came to this country and the Town of Wheatfield at the age of four. He moved to Sanborn in 1903. He operated a farm on Saunders Settlement for most of his life prior to retiring. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, and had served as a trustee of the church. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.
    Survivors include two sons, Walter A. and Clarence E. of Sanborn; one daughter, Mrs. Hubert (Hilda) Ferchen, Wheatfield; one brother, Reinhard Wienke, Wheatfield; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jagow of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Emma Haseley and Mrs. Esther Moll, both of Wheatfield, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Crilley officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.     SANBORN-Mrs. Bertha A. Wienke, 83, of 2652 Saunders Settlement Road; died unexpectedly at her home Monday (Jun.12, 1967) after suffering a heart attack. She had been in ill health for the last year.
    Born in the Town of Lewiston March 20, 1884, she was the daughter of August and Auguste Hellert Haseley. She had been a resident at the Saunders Settlement address for the last 56 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Walmore.
    Survivors include her husband, Adolph; two sons, Walter A. and Clarence E. Wienke, both of Sanborn; a daughter, Mrs. Hubert (Hilda) Ferchen, Niagara Falls, and a brother, Edward Hasley (sic) Niagara Falls; also five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Service's will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday a St. Peter's Church. The Rev. Alfred W. Walck officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    Aged Bergholtz Resident Passes
    BERGHOLTZ, April 17,-Mrs. Matilda Wienke, nee Retzlaff, 74 years old, wife of Albert Wienke, died today at her home, in Cayuga road after a brief illness. She was stricken with paralysis Sunday. She was born in Campow (sic), Germany, and had resided in this village for the past 51 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran church and the Ladies' Aid society.
    Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edward Jagow and Mrs. William Eggert, both of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Albert Schmeichel, of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Christ (sic) Haseley, of Sanborn, and Mrs. Gustav Moll, of Bergholtz; five sons, Adolph, of Sanborn, John, Hugo and Reinhard, all of Bergholtz. and Albert, of North Tonawanda; 34 grandchildren; seven great granchildren (sic); two brothers, Fred, of Grand Haven, Mich., and Edward, of Sanborn. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p. m. from the home and at 2:30 from St. James church. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Interment will be in St. James cemetery.

    Mrs. Anna D. Ferchen, 61 years old, wife of John Ferchen of Bergholtz, died at the family home Thursday night. Mrs. Ferchen was born in Bergholtz, and lived there all her life. Besides her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Albert Haseley, Mrs. Albert Milleville, and Mrs. Albert Dubois; four sons, Henry, John, Philip and Edward Ferchen of Bergholtz; and three brothers, Henry Voelker of Bergholtz, Fred Voelker of Chicago and Philip C. Voelker of LeValley, Canada, survive. The funeral will be held from the late home at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon and a half hour later from the Grabau Lutheran Church at Bergholtz. Burial will be made in Bergholtz.

    Sanborn. N.Y., Jan. 20.- On Wednesday afternoon was found the body of Wm. A. Hasley at his home in Walmore. From all appearance Mr. Hasley had been dead since last Saturday. The neighbors failing to see him about broke into his home and found his body on the bed. He was fully dressed and it is supposed that he died from asphyxiation. The Funeral was held from the home of Philip Haseley on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. He is survived by three sons.

    Mrs. Maria Haseley, 85 years old, died Saturday at her home in Sanborn. She was the widow of the late William F. Haseley. She was the mother of William F., Albert and Paul Haseley, Sanborn; Mrs. Fred Haseley, Mrs. Gust Lavenduskey, North Tonawanda, Gustuf Haseley and Mrs. George Hartman, Niagara Falls, Mrs. Martha Quandt, Lockport; Mrs. Otto Miller and Mrs. Edwin Wurl, Martinsville; John Haseley, LaSalle, and Mrs. John Ferchen, Bergholz, and sister of Gustave Williams, Sanborn; William and Albert Williams, Lockport, and Ferdinand Williams, Bergholz.
