    Herbert J. Wienke, age 103 of the Brookdale House of Niagara, Wheatfield, NY, was called to be with his Lord on March 15, 2016. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on March 8, 1913, he was the son of the late John and Marie (Nantke) Wienke. Mr. Wienke was a life long member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he served as an Elder, Trustee and Treasurer. He was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company for over 70 years. After retiring from Carborundum Abrasives after 41 years, Herb repaired and refinished furniture for 11 years, for many friends and family in the area. He was an avid reader of the Bible and devotional books. Herb married Eleanor (DuBois) Wienke on January 22, 1938, who predeceased him in 1998. Survivors include five children, Thomas (Betty) Wienke of Lancaster, CA, Carolyn (Marshal) Chapin of Wheatfield, Harris (Victoria) Wienke of Hamburg, Janelle (John) Peters of Marinette, WI and Albert (Joyce) Wienke of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Florence (late Charles) Donner and Lorraine (late Donald) Werth; three brothers, Erwin Wienke, Edward (Jessie) Wienke and Nelson (Dora) Wienke; ten grandchildren, Mary, Todd, Lori, Michael, Amy, David, Alex, Jessica, Kendra and Julie; six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Dylan, Julia, Sonja, Grant and Ellen; a sister in law, Lillian DuBois and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Wienke and sister, Mildred Motchenbaugh. The family will be present on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Mark Perkins, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Lutheran Church, across from the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Roof Fund, or a charity of one's choice.

    Eleanor A. Wienke, 85, a former resident of Wheatfield, died Friday (July 17, 1998) in St. Mary's Manor, Niagara Falls, where she lived.
    Born Eleanor DuBois in Niagara Falls, she was known for her baking. At one time, she was a cook for various area restaurants.
    She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz and the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
    Survivors include her husband, Herbert J.; three sons, Thomas of Lancaster, Calif., Harris of Elma and Albert of North Tonawanda; two daughters, Carolyn Chapin of Sanborn and Janelle Peters of Marinette , WI.; two brothers, Walter DuBois of Niagara Falls and Arthur DuBois; a sister, Elizabeth Heuer of Bergholz; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
    Services will be held at 2 P.M. today in St. James Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Rohr Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery

    JOHN E. WIENKE - John E. Wienke, 84, formerly of Cayuga Road, Bergholtz, died Tuesday (March 21, 1972) in the Abbey Nursing Home Kenmore, after a long illness. Born in Bergholtz where he lived most of his life, he was the husband of the late Marie Mantke Wienke, who died 1936. He was a.lifelong member of the St. James Lutheran Church, and a member of the 1 Bergholtz Volunteer Fire Co. He had been a cabinet maker, and worked for the Meyer Lumber Co. of North Tonawanda. Survivors include four sons, Herbert and Erwin Wienke of this city, Edward and Nelson Wienke of North Tonawanda: three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Motchenbauth of Buffalo, Mrs. Charles (Florence) Donner of Tonawanda and Mrs. Donald (Lorraine) Werth of North Tonawanda;-two brothers, Adolf Wienke of Sanborn and Relnhard Wienke of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jagow, Mrs. Emma Haseley, Mrs. Esther Moll, all of this city; and Mrs. Ella Eggert of Sanborn, 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Richard Wienke, who died in 1957. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Robert Lahman officiating. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.     MRS. WIENKE DIES
    Bergholtz woman was Ill Two Years; Funeral Friday Afternoon.
    Mrs. Marie Wienke, wife of John Wienke, died last night in her home on Cayuga road, Bergholtz, after a two years' illness. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home with services at 2:30 in St James Church to be followed by burial in St. James cemetery. Mrs. Wienke was born in North Tonawanda and was 47 years old. Before her marriage she was Miss Marie Nanthe. Surviving besides her husband are the following eight children, Herbert, Erwin, Edward, Nelson, Richard, Florence and Lorraine Wienke and Mrs. Mildred Motchenbaugh.

    Mrs. DuBois Dies at 76 In Hospital
    WHEATFIELD-Mrs. Anna Christine DuBois, 2363 Niagara Road, a lifelong resident here, died today (March 6, 1965) at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She Was 76.
    She was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
    Surviving are five sons, Arthur and Herbert DuBois, of the Town of Wheatfield, Edwin DuBois, Town of Niagara, and William A. and Walter E. DuBois, both of Niagara Falls; three daughters. Mrs. Herbert (Eleanor) Wienke, Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Hassen and Mrs. Arthur (Elizabeth) Heuer, all of Wheatfield; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Haseley, Town of Lewiston, Mrs. Rosina Milleville of Wheatfield; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., North Tonawanda and at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church by Rev. Albert Bahr, pastor. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.
    The family said that contributions to the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church building fund are acceptable as tribute.

    Aged Bergholtz Resident Passes
    BERGHOLTZ, April 17,-Mrs. Matilda Wienke, nee Retzlaff, 74 years old, wife of Albert Wienke, died today at her home, in Cayuga road after a brief illness. She was stricken with paralysis Sunday. She was born in Campow (sic), Germany, and had resided in this village for the past 51 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran church and the Ladies' Aid society.
    Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edward Jagow and Mrs. William Eggert, both of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Albert Schmeichel, of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Christ (sic) Haseley, of Sanborn, and Mrs. Gustav Moll, of Bergholtz; five sons, Adolph, of Sanborn, John, Hugo and Reinhard, all of Bergholtz. and Albert, of North Tonawanda; 34 grandchildren; seven great granchildren (sic); two brothers, Fred, of Grand Haven, Mich., and Edward, of Sanborn.     Mrs. Anna D. Ferchen
    Mrs. Anna D. Ferchen, 61 years old, wife of John Ferchen of Bergholtz, died at the family home Thursday night. Mrs. Ferchen was born in Bergholtz, and lived there all her life. Besides her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Albert Haseley, Mrs. Albert Milleville, and Mrs. Albert Dubois; four sons, Henry, John, Philip and Edward Ferchen of Bergholtz; and three brothers, Henry Voelker of Bergholtz, Fred Voelker of Chicago and Philip C. Voelker of LeValley, Canada, survive. The funeral will be held from the late home at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon and a half hour later from the Grabau Lutheran Church at Bergholtz. Burial will be made in Bergholtz.
