    Chester G. Ziehm, 71, a resident of Grand Island, died Tuesday (Jan. 24, 1995) in Sisters Hospital.
    Ziehm was born in the Town of Wheatfield and served in the Army in Europe during World War II.
    He graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Business Management and worked for several years at Carborundum Co. and Standard Oil Co. in Cleveland.
    He was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church. He also was a charter member of Wheatfield Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Grand Island Rod & Gun Club.
    Surviving are his wife, Rosemarie Brym-Conrad Ziehm; three sons, David of Bergholz, William of Chicago and John of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Marion Wendt of Grand Island; a brother, Morris of Schenectady; two sisters, Pearl Ward and Yvonne Bricca, both of Wheatfield; and six grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in First Trinity Church, 1570 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Forest Lawn, Buffalo.

    Rosemarie A. Ziehm, of Grand Island, a longtime real estate broker, died Sunday (Sept. 20, 2003) in Michigan after a lengthy illness. She was 80.
    She was born Rosemarie Brym in Sonnenholz am Simssee, Bavaria, Germany, and had moved to Grand Island in 1958.
    Mrs. Ziehm was a prominent real estate broker for more than 35 years, having begun her career with Peacock Realty in 1965. After the owner's death, the business became Ziehm Realty at Grand Island Boulevard and Staley Road.
    Her husband, Chester, died in 1995.
    Survivors include a daughter, Marion Wendt of Byron Center, Mich.; three sons, David of Grand Island, William of Chicago and John of Niagara Falls; and six grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday in Emmanuel Community Bible Church, 1136 Baseline Road, Grand Island. Entombment will be in Oakwood Mausoleum in Forest Lawn

    N O R T H TONAWANDA - Grover L. Ziehm, 65, of 6828 Sy Road, Town of Wheatfield, died unexpectedly Monday (Jan. 18, 1965), after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ziehm was born in Michigan and had resided in Wheatfield the greater part of his life. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholtz. He operated Ziehm's Motel in Niagara Falls Boulevard for about 30 years, retiring in 1964. Prior to operating the motel he was employed by Hooker Electrochemical Corp in Niagara Falls for 27 years, retiring about 10 years ago. Survivors include his widow, the former Clara Ferchen; two sons, Chester G. Ziehm,
    Grand Island, and Maurice A. Ziehm, Schenectady ; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth
    (Pearl) Ward and Mrs. Silvan (Yvonne) Bricca, both of Wheatfield; a brother, William
    Ziehm, Wheatfield; three sisters, Miss Esther Ziehm Buffalo, Mrs. George Martin.
    Wheatfield, and Miss Ariel Ziehm, Tonawanda, and 12 grandchildren. Friends may call at the residence, where a service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by a service at 2:30 in St. James Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert Lehman officiating. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

    Town Assessor Succumbs to Heart Attack While Cutting Corn as Fodder for Cow
    August Ziem, 71, of Wheatfield Found Dead by Members of His Family Who Became Alarmed at Prolonged Stay in Field and Conducted Investigation
    August Ziem, 71, of the Niagara road and Hunt street, Bergholtz, died of a heart attack while cutting corn in a field on the farm of his son-in-law, George Martin, on the Ward road, half a mile south of the Niagara Falls boulevard, yesterday afternoon.
    Mr. Ziem went to the Martin farm early in the afternoon to cut corn as fodder for his cow. His prolonged stay in the field alarmed his family and, upon investigation, they found him dead in the field, about a quarter of a mile from the Martin home.
    Coroner J. E. Helwig issued a certificate of death due to a heart attack.
    Mr. Ziem was a well known resident and a leading Republican of the town of Wheatfield. He was serving his ninth year as an assessor.
    Born in Germany, Mr. Ziem was brought to America by his parents at the age of nine months. He made his home in Michigan until removing to the town of Wheatfield 25 years ago.
    He is survived by a wife, Anna; three daughters, the Misses Esther and Ariel Ziem at home and Mrs. Martin; two sons, Grover and William of Bergholtz; six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary Ziegler of Caro, MI.
    Rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and at 2:30 from the St. James church. Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate and burial will be in St. James cemetery.

    ZIEHM Mrs. Anna Ziehm, 82, Niagara Rd., Town of Wheatfield, died last evening, Tuesday (March 30, 1954) in the residence of her daughter, Mrs. George Martin, Ward Rd., after a long illness. Born in Germany, she resided in the Town of Wheatfield the past 40 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholz. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Esther Ziehm, Buffalo and Mrs. Martin and Miss Ariel Ziehm, Tonawanda; two sons, William and Grover, Town of Wheatfield; six grandchildren and three grandchildren; and a brother, August Zastrow, Wilson.
