    N. T. GI Dies On Front Line of Korean War
    A North Tonawanda veteran with four years of service in World War II became the fourth man from the Twin Cities killed in action in the Korean conflict.
    He is Pfc. Kenneth H. Glawf, 34, husband of Mrs. Shirley Glawf of 311 Bryant St. and son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Glawf of 1711 Ruie Rd.
    A Department of Defense telegram received by his wife June 14 reported his death on June 3 while serving with the 27th Infantry, Wolfhound Regiment, in Korea. The telegram gave no details.
    Pfc. Glawf earned a sergeant's rating in his combat infantry service in World War II. He held the combat infantryman's badge or 21-months of overseas duty and the European Theater ribbon with three stars.
    He was sent to Korea in March. His latest letters home described the fierceness of the fighting. He wrote … "things are rough … the smell is terrible because of the many bodies of dead Communist soldiers unburied … they attack with disregard of weapons and often try to overcome us in hand-to-hand combat without rifles."
    Pfc. Glawf was formerly employed by the Rudolph Wurlitzer Company and was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical & Reformed Church.

    GLAWF Mrs. Molly Glawf, 75, of 1711 Ruie Rd., died in her home Sunday afternoon, July 19, 1953, after a short illness. Born in Bay City, Mich., she had lived here 60 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical & Reformed Church. Survivors include her husband, Fred; a daughter, Mrs. Denny Roth; a sister, Mrs. Louise Wilson; two brothers, Otto and Edward Haseley, all of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Wattengel Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles F. Kriete officiating. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery

    Frederick Haseley Dies
    North Tonawanda, May 16.- Frederick Haseley, 81 years old, a veteran of the Civil war, died at his home at No. 275 Stenzel street yesterday after a brief Illness. He was born in Germany and had been most of his life in North Tonawanda. Besides his widow, three sons, Albert, Otto and Edward Haseley, and three daughters. Mrs. Fred Glawf, Mrs. Harry Wilson and Mrs. Fred Plumsteel, survive.

    Fred Haseley of Stenzel street was born in Germany on November 16, 1842, and came to North Tonawanda from Michigan in 1894. He enlisted with his brother in Company K, 26th New York Cavalry, on February 15, 1865. Mr. Haseley served until June 28, 1865, when he was mustered out at Buffalo.

    Mrs Augusta Haseley. 78 years old. died yesterday at her home, 1215 Oliver street. She was a life-long resident of North Tonawanda. She was the wife of the late Frederick Haseley. Mrs. Haseley is survived by two sons. Edward and Otto Haseley: three daughters. Mrs. Frederick Glawf. Mrs. Frederick Plumsteel and Mrs. Harry Wilson; eleven grandchildren and the same number of great-grandchildren: five brothers John, Frederick, Henry and Albert Schuler. and three sisters. Mrs. Julius Miller. Mrs. William Broeker and Mrs. Edward Krueger. With the exception of Mrs. Plumsteel. who lives at Niagara Falls, the survivors live in the Tonawandas and immediate vicinity. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence. Burial will be at Elmlawn.
