    Notes:

Warren E. Haseley of Port Washington passed to his eternal rest on October 20, 2018 at the age of 96. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bernice (Antoine) of Port Washington, daughter Susan (Keith) Campbell of Richfield, and sons Gary (Debra) of Port Washington and Warren (Marjorie) of Mt. Prospect, IL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister Nancy (Paul) Swatek of Lake Geneva, and brothers Donald (Lillian) Haseley of Port Washington and Eugene (the late Betty) Haseley of Lake Geneva. Preceding him in death are two sons, Dean and Gregory, sisters Adene Haseley, Carol (the late Lawrence) Entress and Phyllis (the late Gerald) Klopp, brother Leonard “Skip” (Betty Jane) Haseley, as well as many friends and other family members. Warren was born in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, on February 17, 1922. His family moved to the Jackson/Cedarburg area before settling in Port Washington, where he graduated from high school. Warren was active in many sports and the high school band. After graduation, he entered the Army Air Corps and was stationed in San Angelo, Texas. After discharge, he attended LaCrosse State Teachers College where he was first chair trumpet in the college band. Warren graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and recreation, and later went on to receive a master’s degree in Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He and Bernice were married on June 17, 1950, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church, in the Town of Belgium. Warren taught at Southern Colony in Union Grove before he found a teaching position in Waukegan, IL, at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School. He taught physical education, health, and coached basketball for fourteen years before being offered an assistant principal’s position at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Port Washington in 1968. Mr. Haseley retired from education in 1986, after spending 33 years educating and nurturing teachers and students. In retirement, Warren was active in many senior programs in Port Washington: he served on the Senior Citizen Counsel, played senior softball and started the senior horseshoes’ program in town. His love of music was very important to him; Warren was a charter member of the Ozaukee County Barbershop Chorus, and played his trumpet in the New Horizons Senior band. He and Bernice delivered Meals-on-Wheels for thirty years and he also volunteered for fish fries at his parish, St. John XXIII in Port. Warren was also a longtime member of the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 in Port Washington.
Warren and Bernice were fortunate to travel to Hawaii and Austria, as well as many cities in the United States. He always expressed disbelief that he actually walked the paths in the Alps. He was amazed at all life had given him.
Warren’s wife and family would like to express their deep gratitude to all the friends and family for the support and love over the last year. Special appreciation and admiration is given to the caregivers and nurses of Harbor Club/Cove; their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. The family also thanks Heartland Hospice, especially Ann, who took such good care of the entire family, especially Dad, and helped them understand and accept this difficult journey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, October 25th at St. John XXIII-St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington; Father Patrick Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Thursday from 11:30AM until services at 1PM, with a Legion walk-through scheduled to begin at 12:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Warren’s name can be sent to his favorite charities: American Heart Association and Special Olympics of Ozaukee County. Notes:

On May 2, 2022, a most beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Bernice (nee Antoine) Haseley, left us, but not our hearts at the age of 99. Bernice was born on July 9, 1922, in Belgium, Wisconsin, to Susan and Eugene Antoine. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, Warren Haseley; her sons, Dean and Gregory; her sister, Geraldine (Antoine) Watry, and brother, Raymond Antoine; and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Keith) Campbell, Gary (Debbie) Haseley, and Warren (Marjorie) Haseley. Her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren will miss her always. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Nancy (Paul) Swatek, and brother-in-law, Eugene Haseley, and many nieces and nephews. Bernice grew up in Belgium, attending St. Mary's Catholic School in Lake Church and then Port Washington High School, where she met her husband. She proudly started working as a bank teller in high school at Port Washington State Bank until she married Warren after his service and college years. They moved to Union Grove and then to Waukegan, Illinois, where Bernice raised her children and later, was employed at Sears Roebucks Department Store in the accounting department. It was in Waukegan that her two sons died of pneumonia at early ages. In 1968, the family returned to Port Washington, and Bernice was employed once again at Port State Bank. She worked as a drive-thru teller and loved her job. She also was an active member of St. John XXIII Parish (St. Peter of Alcantara Church), teaching religion education classes. She and Warren were active members of the Senior Citizen program in Port, delivering Meals on Wheels. Bernice loved to paint ceramics and enjoyed the classes, attending with her many friends. Her beautiful penmanship and artistry was evident in her creations. She and Warren were fortunate to visit many foreign places, but Hawaii was her favorite. Bernice will be remembered for her spirit, smile, and unbelievable memory. She knew everyone, remembering their names and origins and shared memories of her happy childhood readily. She loved to sing and dance, and enjoyed the family's Christmas celebrations. She always placed her family first, and her best memories were those of family gatherings. At 97 years old, Bernice moved to an apartment at Harbor Campus, the old St. Alphonsus Hospital where she had given birth to her first two children. It was the first time in her life that she lived alone. She loved her new home, the staff, and the many friends who welcomed her. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 11th at St. John XXIII Parish - St. Peter of Alcantara Church at 12 Noon. Visitation will precede the Mass at the church from 10:30 to 12 Noon. Father Patrick Wendt will preside over the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John XXIII Parish - St. Peter of Alcantara Church, Port Washington. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff of Aurora Medical Center, in Grafton, Wisconsin, for their concern and care for Bernice and her family over the last several months.
