    LEWISTON-John Elnicki, 71, of Edna Drive, died Monday (May 15, 1995) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a three-month illness.
    He was born in DuBois, Pa., on April 30, 1924, the son of Michael and Theresa (Prochko) Elnicki. In 1941, he moved to Niagara Falls.
    During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, and was wounded in Normandy. He received the Purple Heart.
    Mr. Elnicki was employed by the Carborundum Co. as a lathe operator. He retired in 1983. He enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting and gardening.
    He was a member of St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church.
    Mr. Elnicki is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret (Masceri) Elnicki of Lewiston; a son, John Jeffrey Elnicki of Sanborn; four brothers, Nicholas Elnicki, Joseph Elnicki and Andrew Elnicki, all of DuBois, and Paul Elnicki of Niagara Falls; three sisters, Anne Zedick of DuBois, Olga Brown of Greenville, S.C., and Nettie Muscato of Duarte, Calif.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was the brother of the late Mary Williams.
    Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home, LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, where services will be conducted at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9: 15 a.m. in St. Leo's Church on Military Road. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.

    Margaret E. Elnicki, 92, of Lewiston, NY passed away on December 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Caprio) Masceri. 

    Margaret attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1943. She married John Elnicki on October 21, 1950. Mr. Elnicki passed away on May 15, 1995. Margie was employed from 1943 until 1957 as a secretary with the Carborundum Company. Margie enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, cooking and baking. She loved dogs and giving treats to the neighbors dogs. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. 

    Margaret is survived by a son, John J. (Patrice) Elnicki, grandchildren, Ryan J. Elnicki (Ricci Abbott) and Melissa N. Elnicki (John Liberti), a sister, Rosemary (late Stanley) VanAucker and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Louis (Dorothy) Masceri.

    Mrs. Elnicki's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence for their loving and compassionate care. 

    Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.     Mr. Benjamin W. Haseley, age 88, of Sanborn, NY passed away Thursday, March 29th, 2007 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.
    Mr. Haseley was born in the Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY on May 26, 1918, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Ferchen) Haseley. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church - Walmore Sanborn, NY, Where he had served as trustee and elder for many years. Ben was employed as a sales representative at Pils Service in Lockport, Niagara County, NY for 25 years, retiring in 1987. He had previously worked at the Calkins Lumber Company, as well as on the family farm.
    Surviving is his wife of 60 years, the former Gladys L. Kroening; his children, Jacqueline [ Clifford ] Blank, Donna [ Frank ] Licursi, Terry [ Debra ] Haseley, Patrice [ John ] Elnicki, a sister, Lydia Stoelting, brothers, Marcus [ Lizzie ] Haseley, Wallace Haseley, Albert [ Athea ] Haseley, brother in law Gilbert [ Norma ] Kroening, sister in law, Janet Kroening. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
    He was the brother of the late, Norman, William, Richard Haseley and Esther Beutel.

    Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 19, 1925, a daughter of the late Edwin H. (Helen) and Edna [Haseley] Kroening.
    Mrs. Haseley was a graduate of LaSalle High School.
    She was the bookkeeper with Pils Service in Lockport for many years.
    Mrs. Haseley was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Walmore, where she taught Sunday School, was active in the Women's Group and quilted for Lutheran World Relief.
    She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid bowler.
    Mrs. Haseley was the wife of the late Benjamin W. Haseley, who passed away in 2007.
    She is survived by her children,  Jacqueline (Clifford) Blank, Donna (late Frank) Licursi, Terry ( Debra) Haseley, Patrice (John)  Elnicki, a sister in law Norma Kroening,  also  seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren,  many nieces and nephews.
    She was the sister of the late Harold (Janet), Gilbert, Sharon and Richard Kroening.
    Everyone is invited to attend her funeral services which will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM  at St. Peter's  Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY,  with the Rev.  Kurt Jensen  officiating.
    Interment at St. Peter's  Lutheran Cemetery Wheatfield, NY.

She was born in Ranova, Pa., and came to Niagara Falls at the age of 3 She was the daughter of the late Michael and Lucia (Grieco) Caprio. She worked in the production department of Carborundum Corp. during World War II She was the wife of Joseph Masceri, who died in 1971. She is survived by a son, Louis R. Masceri of Berea. Ohio; daughters Margaret Elnicki and Rosemary VanAuker, both of Lewiston; sisters1, Mary Guarino and Elizabeth Holmes, both of Niagara Falls; a brother William Caprio, of Niagara Falls; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews.     Albert P. Haseley Dies at 70 Years
    SANBORN, Feb. 6-Albert P. Haseley, 70 years old, husband of Mrs. Anna Ferchen Haseley, died yesterday at the family home in the Saunders Settlement road.
    Mr. Haseley was a farmer all his life and was actively engaged in operating his farm until ill health prevented about a year ago. Previous to this he had taken an active interest in Sanborn village affairs. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church at Walmore and was formerly active in its organizations.
    Besides his wife, Mr. Haseley is survived by seven sons, Norman, Marcus, Wallace, William, Richard, Benjamin and Albert, all of Sanborn: two daughters, Lydia Haseley and Mrs. Irwin Beutel, of Sanborn; three grandchildren, four brothers and seven sisters, all of this vicinity.
    Funeral services will be held from the family home on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 at St. Peter's Lutheran church at Walmore. The Rev. Edward A. Grabau will officiate and interment will be in the Walmore cemetery.

    A native of Bergholz, she lived in the Sanborn area most of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her husband, Albert P. Haseley, predeceased her.
    She is survived by seven sons, Norman Haseley of Niagara Falls, Marcus, William Benjamin and Albert Haseley, all of Sanborn, Wallace and Richard Haseley , both of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Lydia Stoelting of Niagara Falls; 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the rev. Paul F. Wittenberg officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn from 7 to 9 P.M. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday.

    SANBORN - Edwin H. Kroening, 72, of 2849 Saunders Settlement Road was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, Monday (Feb. 11, 1974) after suffering an apparent heart attack at work. Mr. Kroening Was a native of the Town of Niagara and had lived in Sanborn for the last 50 years, where he had owned and operated Kroening Garage on Route 31 for the last 49 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore; a charter member of the Sanborn Lions Club and an honorary member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co.
    He is survived by his wife, Helen Haseley Kroening; two sons, Harold and Gilbert Kroening; and a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin (Gladys) Haseley, all of Sanborn. He was the father of the late Miss Sharon L. Kroening. Also surviving are nine grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore. The Rev. Harold L. Baum will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    Niagara. Falls, Feb. l6-Mrs. Edna Kroenig (sic), 28 years old, of Sanborn, died here today in Memorial Hospital of pneumonia. She yesterday gave birth to a son, Richard, who survives.
    Mrs. Kroenig (sic) was a native of this city and moved to Sanborn with her husband, Edwin Kroenig (sic), about six years ago. Besides her husband and ..... son, she is survived by two other children, Harold and Gladys; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Haseley, and a brother, Herbert Haseley. Niagara Falls. Services will be held at the home and at the Lutheran Church at Walmore on Friday. Burial will be at Walmore.

    Mrs. Kroening Is Buried at Walmore
    SANBORN, Feb. 20.-The funeral of Mrs. Edna Haseley Kroening, aged 28 years, wife of Edwin Kroening of the Saunder's (sic) Settlement road, who died at Niagara Falls Memorial hospital on Tuesday, which was held from her late home on Friday at 2 p. m., and 2:30 p. m. from St. Peter's church at Walmore, was one of the largest ever held in this community. A wonderful profusion of beautiful floral tributes bespoke of the high esteem in which she was held by all who knew her. The bearers were cousins and included Messrs. Martin Pfohl, Edwin Haseley.
