    William "Bill" Nichols passed away on April 15, 2019, at age 81, in Batavia, NY, where he lived with his longtime companion, Diane Ball. William was born in Niagara Falls, NY, in September 1937 to the late Miles Nichols and the late Marie (Korff), Nichols Hillman. He resided in Lewiston for most of his life, where he took over the family farm and Nichols Farm Market upon the passing of his father. Later in life, he also worked for Orkin. William attended Stella Niagara Catholic School and graduated from Lewiston Porter High School. He attended SUNY Agricultural and Technical Institute at Morrisville, and graduated in 1957. He also attended dairy school in Kansas. William was a long time member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Lewiston NY. He was a member of the Niagara County Farmer's Bureau, the Lewiston Kiwanis Club, and the 4H Club of Niagara County, where he served as President. His interests were in farming, antique farm equipment, steam engines and trains. He is survived by his children from his first marriage to Joanne, David Nichols of North Carolina, Scott (Darlene) Nichols of the Town of Niagara, and Karen (Alex) Scalzo of the Town of Niagara; and his children from his second marriage to Jane, Cheryl (Michael) Newton of Wilson, and Shawn Haseley of Niagara Falls. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew (Lisa) Nichols, Ashley Nichols, Jason (Ashley) Scarf, Justin Scarf, Nicole Newton, Kyle Scalzo, Alexis Scalzo; and great-granddaughter, Raegan Nichols Sloma; as well as several cousins. William donated his body to science at The University of Buffalo. A memorial service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 915 Oneida Street, Lewiston NY 14092, on May 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life luncheon will be held immediately after the service. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, consider sending a memorial donation to Messiah Lutheran Church.     Jane Marie Nichols, 79, of Ransomville entered into rest on Friday October 1, 2021, at Roswell Park Cancer Inst. in Buffalo, NY. She was born on January 17, 1942, to the late Alvin and Lydia Haseley Stoelting in Niagara Falls, NY. Jane was baptized on February 01, 1942, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz and confirmed at the church on April 29, 1956. She was a 1960 graduate of Niagara Wheatfield and was employed by the school district and Johnston’s Restaurant retiring in 2006. Jane was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Fellowship Committee, the Ransomville Rural Retirees, and the Red Hat Hatters of Niagara. She loved being together with her family, gardening, cooking, antiquing, and watching New York Yankees baseball.Jane is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Newton; her grandchildren Jason (Ashley) Scarf, Justin Scarf (Jennifer Hubachner), Nicole Newton (Matthew Miller), Nathan Newton and Jayson Newton; her brothers Roy and Larry Stoelting and her niece Christine Stoelting.     Surviving are his widow; a

    and two grandsons, David and

    LYDIA A. STOELTING, age 97 of Wheatfield, NY was called to her heavenly home on June 18, 2019 at the Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. Born in the Town of Lewiston, NY on December 19, 1921; daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Ferchen) Haseley. Lydia was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where she had been an active member in the Ladies Aid, Alter Guild, Sunday School teacher, and Holy Ghost Seniors. She was also a member of the Wheatfield Seniors. Lydia was employed at the Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls, and later for the Niagara Wheatfield Central School District, retiring in 1986 as the head custodian. She served as a past president of the Niagara Wheatfield Non-instructional Association and a member of the Niagara Wheatfield Retirees. Lydia enjoyed doing Wonder Word Puzzles, reading, traveling and cooking.
    Survivors include three children, Jane Nichols, Roy Stoelting and Larry Stoelting; grandchildren, Cheryl (Mike) Newton and Christine Stoelting; great-grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Scarf, Justin Scarf, Nichole Newton, Nathan Newton and Jayson Newton; sister in law, Gladys Haseley; and many nieces and nephews.
    Lydia was predeceased by her husband, Alvin H. Stoelting on July 31, 1961. They were united in marriage on January 11, 1941; brothers, Norman (Myra), Marcus (Lizze), Wallace (Cordia), William (Irma), Richard (Helma), Benjamin, and Albert (Althea) Haseley; and sister, Esther (Irwin) Beutel.
    Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday, June 21 from 4-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Denton White, on Saturday, June 22, at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street, Bergholz. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    from farming and moved to

    death.of his wife, he made his home
    with his daughter.

    Albert Stoelting Dies at Bergholtz
    Funeral of Well Known Resident on Thursday Afternoon.
    BERGHOLTZ, July 22.-Albert Stoelting, 59, died Monday at his home on the Sy road after a year's illness. He had been a well known carpenter for many years. He built the Holy Ghost church in 1907, of which he was a very active member, and was elected a deacon by that congregation many times. He was born in this village and lived here all his life. He was well known throughout Niagara county. He is survived by his wife, Anna Jagow Stoelting, four sons, Herbert, Arnold, Theodore and Alvin and three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Mueller, Mrs. Erick Walck and Alice, all of this village, five grandchildren and two brothers, Julius Stoelting of this village, and Herman Stoelting of North Tonawanda, and one sister, Mrs. John Strassburg, of Sanborn, besides a large circle of friends and relatives. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house and half an hour later at the Holy Ghost church in Bergholtz. Burial will be in the Holy Ghost cemetery The Rev. John Kuchenbecker will conduct the services.

    Albert P. Haseley Dies at 70 Years
    SANBORN, Feb. 6-Albert P. Haseley, 70 years old, husband of Mrs. Anna Ferchen Haseley, died yesterday at the family home in the Saunders Settlement road.
    Mr. Haseley was a farmer all his life and was actively engaged in operating his farm until ill health prevented about a year ago. Previous to this he had taken an active interest in Sanborn village affairs. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church at Walmore and was formerly active in its organizations.
    Besides his wife, Mr. Haseley is survived by seven sons, Norman, Marcus, Wallace, William, Richard, Benjamin and Albert, all of Sanborn: two daughters, Lydia Haseley and Mrs. Irwin Beutel, of Sanborn; three grandchildren, four brothers and seven sisters, all of this vicinity.
    Funeral services will be held from the family home on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 at St. Peter's Lutheran church at Walmore. The Rev. Edward A. Grabau will officiate and interment will be in the Walmore cemetery.

    A native of Bergholz, she lived in the Sanborn area most of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her husband, Albert P. Haseley, predeceased her.
    She is survived by seven sons, Norman Haseley of Niagara Falls, Marcus, William Benjamin and Albert Haseley, all of Sanborn, Wallace and Richard Haseley , both of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Lydia Stoelting of Niagara Falls; 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the rev. Paul F. Wittenberg officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn from 7 to 9 P.M. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday.
    Contributions to Lutheran Vespers are acceptable as tribute, the family said.
