    December 6, 2018 at age 79. Beloved husband of 56 years to Diane (nee Griffin) Feind; devoted father of Michael (Pamela) Feind, Sr., Gregory (Cathy) Feind, Douglas (Sheila) Feind and Scott (Marlene) Feind; loving grandfather of Michael Jr., Ashley, Heather, Hailey, Laura, Krista, Giada, Brianna and Kingston; dear brother of Robert (Gail) and Frank (Dawn) Feind; also survived by nieces and nephews. Douglas passed away after a lengthy illness under Niagara Hospice care, with his special nurse Elizabeth and helper Christine. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-8 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2600 Sheridan Dr. (at Hopkins Rd). Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Blvd. All are asked to assemble at church.     CAMBRIA - John F.. Kroening, 15, of Upper Mountain Road, . former Town. of Cambria supervisor, died Saturday (Nov. 8, 1997) in Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, after being struck by an automobile. He was responding to the scene of an automobile accident with the Cambria Fire Co. on North Ridge Road near Church Road, when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle while crossing the street.
    He was born Oct. 28. 1922, in Niagara Falls, the son of Elmer and Elsie (Walck) Kroening. He and his family moved to Sanborn when he was an ...... Mr. Kroening later to the family farm (sic) in Cambria when he was 8 years old. He attended LaSalle High School.
    Mr. Kroening served as the supervisor of Cambria from 1970 to 1993, and as a councilman for 15 years before becoming supervisor. He also worked at the former Wurlitzer Co. and the National Grinding Wheel for a few years before becoming a full-time dairy farmer.
    He was a charter member of the Cambria Volunteer Fire County, founded in 1944, where he served as chief from 1952. to 1957. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Ridge, and a former member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Pekin, where he served as treasurer from 1952 to 1955 and as chairman in 1969.
    Mr. Kroening was a former director of the Niagara County Extension Service and served on the Niagara County Agricultural Stabilization Committee.
    “He loved our town,” said June, his wife of 45 years. “He always treated the town's money just as if it was his own.”
    A “no-nonsense” sort of guy was how Councilman George J. Bush described Kroening.
    “Farmers don't really talk between the lines,” he said, adding that Kroening had approached him years ago to serve on the town's Recreation Commission. Even though Bush just said he would think about it, the next thing he knew, he had been appointed. Although Kroening wore a pacemaker and had some health problems the past few years, his wife said “you couldn't keep him from doing things” as he still loved riding his tractor and helping out others.
    In addition to his wife, June E. (Scherer) Kroening; he is survived by two sons, Bryan Kroening and Michael Kroening, both of Lockport; two daughters, Laurie Page of Cheektowaga and Shelia Feind of Lockport; three brothers, Herbert Kroening and Martin Kroening, both of Lockport, and Harry Kroening of Sanborn; two sisters, Hazel Hasely (sic) of Sanborn and Doris DeVantier of Niagara Falls; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond Kroening,
    Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn., where the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday. The Rev. David J. Musall will conduct services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4169 Church Road, Lockport. Burial will be in Huskey Cemetery, Lockport.
    Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or to the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. Ambulance Fund.

    June E. Kroening, of the Town of Cambria, NY, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020, in the Schoellkopf Health Center, Niagara Falls, NY. She was born in the Town of Cambria on January 1, 1933, the daughter of the late Otto and Rose (Risch) Scherer. 
    Mrs. Kroening graduated from Wilson Central high School in 1951. She was an examiner with the Niagara County Department of Social Services, for many years. 
    Mrs. Kroening was a active member of St. Peter's Lutheran at North Ridge and enjoyed playing cards with the Town of Cambria Card Club. 
    She was the wife of the late John F. Kroening, who passed away in 1997. 
    Mrs. Kroening is survived by her children, Bryan and Michael (Corinne) Kroening, Laurie Page and Sheila (Douglas) Feind; four grandchildren, Laura, Jarod, Jessica and Krista; a sister, Ida May Neary; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roy, Robert and Glenn Scherer and Virginia Abt. 
    Her family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church North Ridge, 4169 Church Road, Lockport, NY. Interment in Huskey Cemetery, Town of Royalton, NY. 
    Memorials may be made in her name to St. Peter's Church or to the Lutheran World Relief.

    SANBORN-Elmer F. Kroening, 67, of 4181 Upper. Mountain Road, prominent in civic and church affairs here and, chairman of the Planning Board in the Town of Cambria, died Friday (June 17, 1966) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Niagara, he was the son of the late Carl and Anna Pfohl Kroening. His wife, the former Elsie Walck Kroening, died in September of 1965, Mr. Kroening was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin, a member of the Board of Elders, the Church Council, the Lutheran Laymen's League of Western New York, and a past trustee of the church. He also was an exempt member of the Pekin Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Niagara County Farm Bureau Extension Service, a former director of the National Grape Cooperative and a former board member of the Starpoint Central School. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are five sons, John and Herbert, of Lockport; Raymond; of Ransomville, and Harry and Martin Kroening of Sanborn; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Haseley, Sanborn, and Mrs. Dennis DeVantier, of Bergholtz; a brother, Edward Kroening, of Sanborn, and 28 grandchildren.     SANBORN - Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer (Elsie) Kroening, 63, of 4181 Upper Mountain Road, were held today at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Pekin by Rev. LaVerne J. Fitch. Burial was in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
    Mrs. Kroening died Saturday (Sept. 4, 1965) in Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
    Surviving, besides her husband Elmer; are five sons, Martin and Harry Kroening of Sanborn, John and Herbert Kroening of Lockport, and Raymond Kroening of Ransomville; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Haseley of Sanborn and Mrs. Dennis DeVantier of Bergholtz. Also surviving are two brothers, Edward and Erwin Walck of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. William Walck and Mrs. Martin Pfohl of Sanborn; and 25 grandchildren. The family and friends were present at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home in Sanborn on Sunday and Monday.
