    OCALA, FL — Bernard (Barney) S. Seefeldt, 86, of Ocala, FL, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Born in Wilson, NY on August 2, 1924 to George and Ida Seefeldt, Barney lived most of his life in the Ransomville, NY area. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard from 1943 to 1945. During this time he was a Gunners Mate on the SS Rufus W. Peckham, where he was injured during battle for which he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Victory Medal.

    Barney worked as a carpenter in his early years for NU-Trend Homes. He was well-known throughout the Ransomville area as a "Master" carpenter and worked on many homes in the area. He became a fireman and worked early on at the fire station at Fort Niagara before it became a State Park. Later he was a fireman for the Bell Aerosystems Co. in Wheatfield, NY. He was also the Town of Porter Building Inspector for 25 years, retiring in 1990.

    Barney was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4781 in Ocala, FL. He also served as past Commander of the VFW Lake Ontario Post 313 in Youngstown, NY. He enjoyed many years vacationing in Canada on Lake Mississagagon where he owned two cottages, one of which he built. He also enjoyed many years at his hunting camp in Little Valley, NY, where he enjoyed many years with family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and woodworking. He spent the last several years of his life being a caregiver for his beloved wife, Dorothy, who greatly appreciated his care and love.

    Barney was married to Dorothy R. Oliphant for 65 years, who died on September 22, 2010. He is survived by his sons, David (Lynne) Seefeldt of Ocala, FL, Bruce Seefeldt of Niagara Falls, NY, Thomas (Sandra) Seefeldt of Sanborn, NY, Peter (Lettie) Seefeldt of Ransomville, NY and daughter, Jane (Thomas) Stevens of Ashville, OH; along with 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ralph (Nellann) Seefeldt and several nieces, nephews, special in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Roger, Clinton and sister, Helen Mann.

    Services to be held Thursday, January 20 at 11:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL; immediately following will be a Military Service with honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Lake Ontario Post 313, 434-3rd Street, Youngstown, NY 14174.

    OCALA, FL — Dorothy Seefeldt, 84, was called to her heavenly home on September 22, 2010 in Ocala, FL. She was born Dorothy Ruth Oliphant, August 2, 1926, in Niagara Falls, NY. Dorothy lived most of her life in the Ransomville area. She retired after 20 years as a Billing Clerk for The Town of Porter in July 1988. She was a member of the Ransomville Garden Club for many years and served as the first and only woman Fire Commissioner in New York State. She retired to Florida in her later years and, most recently, lived in Dunnellon, FL. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post #4781 in Ocala, FL. Dorothy enjoyed her many years vacationing at their cottage in Canada with friends and family. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, but most of all her time spent with her many friends and loving family.

    Mrs. Seefeldt is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bernard S. of Ocala, FL; sons, David B. (Lynne) Seefeldt of Ocala, FL, Bruce Seefeldt of Niagara Falls, NY, Thomas H. (Sandra) Seefeldt of Sanborn, NY, Peter R. Seefeldt (Lettie) of Ransomville, NY, and daughter, Jane (Tom) Stevens of Ashville, OH, along with 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen (Harold) Denny, Marjore (S. John) Eodice; two brothers, Charles (Betsy) Oliphant, James (Barbara) Oliphant. She was predeceased by sister, Betty (Malcom) Goodman and her parents, Ennis and Margret Oliphant. Dorothy is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many special close friends.

    A Memorial Service to be held Sunday, September 26th at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL. Dorothy will be placed in the Columbarium at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ransomville Volunteer Fire Company, Ransomville Fire Co. No. 1, 2521 Youngstown-Lockport Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131.

  3. 10.  HASELEY, Alfred Erich was born on 24 Nov 1920 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY (daughter of HASELEY, Erich Ferdinand Albert and WALCK, Lily Henriette Ernestine); died on 19 Aug 2006 in Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY.

    Alfred E. Haseley, 85, 2006, of Sanborn, NY, went home to be with the Lord peacefully Saturday, August 19th, 2006 at his residence.
    Mr. Haseley was born November 24, 1920, in Sanborn, NY, the son of Erich and Lily [ Walck ] Haseley, where he attended local schools. He had resided in the Town of Cambria, NY, for the last 57 years. He was employed as a welder at the General Abrasives, for 44 years, prior to retiring in 1985 Alfred was a longtime member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church Sanborn, NY, where he has served as and Elder and Trustee.
    He was a former of the Sanborn Fire Company Band, the Sanborn Business League and Wheatfield Senior Bowling Leagues, for many years. He enjoyed going to Church, being with his children, grandchildren and gardening.
    Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, the former Hazel E. [ Kroening ] Haseley, hi s children, Susan Haseley; Sandra [ Thomas ] Seefeldt; Darwin [ Debbie ] Haseley; Faye [ Peter ] Vogt; Jeffrey [ Doreen ] Haseley; a sister, Pearl DeVantier; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by a sister Lily Peter.
    The family will be present at Sunday 7 - 9 PM and Monday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Inc., SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 22nd, with Rev. R. Peter Voegler officiating. Interment will be in the St. Andrew Lutheran Cambria, NY.
    Should friends desire memorials may be made in Alfred's memory to St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road or the charity of one's choice
