    Martin L. Kroening, age 87 of Cambria, New York, was called to his heavenly home on July 11, 2021. He passed peacefully at his residence, while under the care of his loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born in the Town of Cambria, son of the late Elmer and Elsie (Walck) Kroening. Martin was a lifelong resident and dairy farmer in the town of Cambria. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin, the Sanborn Historical Society, The Historical Society of North Germans in Western NY, a 50 year member of Wilson Conservation Club, Cast Iron Seat Association, and Niagara County Milk Producers.Survivors include his wife of almost 65 years: Shirly A. (Schultz) Kroening; their five children: Gail (Bill) Segarra, Steven (Terri) Kroening, Dawn (Joe) Nye, Linda (Kurt) Miller and Jennifer (Chris) Weech; two sisters: Hazel Haseley and Doris DeVantier; twelve grandchildren: Carolyn, Jacob, Michael, Hunter, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Joseph, Alyssa, Anna, William Reed, Jenna, and Britain; two great-grandchildren: Jackson and Emery; and several nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by four brothers: John, Raymond, Herbert and Harry Kroening.Private services were held with the family, on Thursday (July 15) at 11:00 a.m. in the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, with the Rev. Kurt Schultz, officiating. Interment followed in Hillside Cemetery, Cambria, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY 14132, or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.

    SANBORN-Elmer F. Kroening, 67, of 4181 Upper. Mountain Road, prominent in civic and church affairs here and, chairman of the Planning Board in the Town of Cambria, died Friday (June 17, 1966) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Niagara, he was the son of the late Carl and Anna Pfohl Kroening. His wife, the former Elsie Walck Kroening, died in September of 1965, Mr. Kroening was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin, a member of the Board of Elders, the Church Council, the Lutheran Laymen's League of Western New York, and a past trustee of the church. He also was an exempt member of the Pekin Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Niagara County Farm Bureau Extension Service, a former director of the National Grape Cooperative and a former board member of the Starpoint Central School. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are five sons, John and Herbert, of Lockport; Raymond; of Ransomville, and Harry and Martin Kroening of Sanborn; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Haseley, Sanborn, and Mrs. Dennis DeVantier, of Bergholtz; a brother, Edward Kroening, of Sanborn, and 28 grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, Sanborn, and from noon until 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Pekin, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. by Rev. LaVerne J. Fitch. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.

    SANBORN - Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer (Elsie) Kroening, 63, of 4181 Upper Mountain Road, were held today at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Pekin by Rev. LaVerne J. Fitch. Burial was in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
    Mrs. Kroening died Saturday (Sept. 4, 1965) in Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
    Surviving, besides her husband Elmer; are five sons, Martin and Harry Kroening of Sanborn, John and Herbert Kroening of Lockport, and Raymond Kroening of Ransomville; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Haseley of Sanborn and Mrs. Dennis DeVantier of Bergholtz. Also surviving are two brothers, Edward and Erwin Walck of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. William Walck and Mrs. Martin Pfohl of Sanborn; and 25 grandchildren. The family and friends were present at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home in Sanborn on Sunday and Monday.

    SEPT. 8, 1914 -- JUNE 25, 2004 Alvira M. Schultz, a farm wife and retired bookkeeper, died Friday in her home after a brief illness. She was 89.
    Born Alvira Rusch in Buffalo, she graduated from Hutchinson-Central High School in 1932.
    She moved to Wilson after her marriage in 1935 to Clarence J. Schultz. He died in 1971.
    Mrs. Schultz worked as a bookkeeper for Frontier Foundries in Niagara Falls for 24 years, retiring in 1981. She also worked on the family farm for many years.
    She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching.
    Survivors include two sons, David and Duane, both of Wilson; two daughters, Shirley Kroening of Sanborn and Diane Verel of Lockport; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday in St. Peter's Church, 4169 Church Road, Cambria. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria
