    Marian E. Carpenter, age 94 formerly of Lewiston, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 in the Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield after a lengthy illness.

    Marian was born January 30, 1920 in Ransomville, the daughter of the late William and Emma (Seefeldt) Wills. She graduated from Youngstown High School in 1938 and received her LPN degree from Trott Vocational School in 1939. She married Clinton R. Carpenter on August 12, 1939. He predeceased her in 1995. Marian worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a short time at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center before joining the staff at the Mt. View Health Facility. She worked there for 9 years before retiring in 1976.

    She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown. Marian had volunteered with the Red Cross at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for over 30 years. While raising her family she was a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader in Pekin for many years.

    She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Edwin) Beutel of Sanborn and Linda (Eric) Carpenter-Newton of Canandaigua, NY; her grandchildren, Debora (Darwin) Haseley, Douglas (Margaret) Beutel and Kevin Beutel (Tammy); and her great grandchildren, Erin (Felix) Smith, Nathan (Psalm) Haseley, Matthew, Cullen, Christopher, and Luke Beutel. She was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Freck and Lillian Ernst and a brother, Kenneth Wills.

    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday, October 30, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Blemaster officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown, NY 14174 or to Camp Good Days & Special Times, 6430 Transit Rd., Suite 200, Depew, NY 14043.
