    LARRY R. STEINGASSER, age 79 was called peacefully to his heavenly home on December 26, 2020 at Our Lady of Peace, Lewiston, NY. Born on February 3, 1941, son of the late Jacob and Violet (Becken) Steingasser. On October 28, 1961, he married Lorraine Pfohl, and they were happily married for 59 years. Larry is survived by his loving wife Lorraine; a daughter Brenda (late James) Black; son, Randy (Penny) Steingasser; loving grandchildren, Heather (Andrew) McCue, Chase and Adam Steingasser; loving great-grandchildren, Alexia and Jordan McCue; and siblings, Carol (Herb) Shafer, Judy (late Jerry) Toellner, Joyce (Jeffrey) Schmidt, Robert (Cheryl) Steingasser; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was employed at Hoover's Dairy for 53 years. He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and the New York Yankees. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Larry was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, in Bergholz.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Wednesday (Dec. 30) from noon till 2:00 p.m. Services will follow visitation, with the Rev. Denton White officiating. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.     CAMBRIA -- Violet A. Steingasser, formerly of Wheatfield, died Wednesday in her granddaughter's home after an illness of five months. She was 90.
    Born Violet Becken in Lewiston, she attended local schools.
    Mrs. Steingasser was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, and her hobbies included gardening, crafts, sewing and traveling.
    Her husband of 49 years, Jacob L., died in 1986.
    Survivors include three daughters, Carol Shafer of Newport, TN., Judith Toellner of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Joyce Schmidt of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Larry of Sanborn and Robert of Wheatfield; a sister, Jean Walck of Sanborn; a brother, Carl Becken of Sanborn; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Dubois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.

    Born in Sanborn, Pfohl worked at the foundry in Niagara Falls for 43 years, retiring in 1966.
    On Feb. 9, he and his wife, the former Viola E. Walck of
    Fairchild Manor in Lewiston, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
    He was a member of St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where he was once an elder. He lived on Saunders Settlement Road.
    Besides his wife, Pfohl is survived by two sons, Melvin of Niagara Falls and Delbert; two daughters, Marilyn Cornelius of Wellsville and Lorraine Steingasser; a sister, Edna Wienke; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

    Sanborn native was former church elder
    SANBORN - Martin F. Pfohl, _ 88, of Saunders Settlement Road died Wednesday (Dec. 30, 1992) at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
    The native of Sanborn was born on Feb. 20, 1904, to Albert and Ida (Haseley) Pfohl. He worked at the former Dobbie Foundry in Niagara Falls for 43 years. He retired in 1966.
    Pfohl was a member of St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where he was once an elder of the church. On Feb. 9, 1992 he and his wife, Viola E. Walck Pfohl of Fairchild Manor, Lewiston celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
    Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Melvin Pfohl of Niagara Falls and Delbert Pfohl of Sanborn; two daughters, Marilyn Cornelius of Wellsville, and Lorraine Steingasser of Sanborn; a sister, Edna Wienke of Sanborn; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was the brother of the late Albert Pfuhl. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 P.M. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. The Rev. Herbert R. Maxwell will conduct services at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.
    Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

    The former Viola Walck was born in Sanborn and had lived in Fairchild Manor since 1991.
    Mrs. Pfohl, who enjoyed traveling, was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls, and was active with the church's Altar Guild.

    above, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary
    Saturday at a reception and dinner in the Sanborn firehall.
    All their wedding attendants wore present. Except for a.
    brief period, Mr. Becken has funned most of his married
    life. For ten years he farmed the Carroll brothers farm in
    Pekin and since 1931. when he purchased a 172 acre farm in
    Upper Mountain Rd., has tilled his own land. Mr. and Mrs.
    Recken's family consists of four sons and two daughters,
    Ervin, Harold and Carl Becken, Pekin, Chester Becken,
    Lockport, Mrs. Jacob Steingasser, S a n b o r n and Mrs.
    Lawrence Walck, Pekin. They have 17 grandchildren and
    nine great grandchildren. Attendants present for the anniversary
    event were Mrs. Pauline Dirmyer, Mrs. Becken's

    Walmore Farmer Called by Death
    WALMORE, May 12.-Albert A. Pfuhl, 57 years old, well known farmer, died yesterday at the family home here. Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, standard time, and at 2:30 from St. Peter's Lutheran church, Walmore. Interment will be in Walmore cemetery. Mr. Pfuhl was born on a farm within a half mile of the place where he died and had resided here all his life.     SANBORN, May 16-Funeral services for Albert A. Pfuhl, aged 57, who died at his home on the Lockport Road on May 11, were held from the home on Sunday at 2 P. M. and from St. Peter's church at 2:30. The bearers were Erich J. Haseley. William DeVantier, Elmer Kroening, William Kroening, Jr., Sigmund Pfuhl, Herbert Pfuhl.     service for Fred W. Walck, 80.
    of Saunders Settlement road, who
    died on Sunday at Buffalo, was held

    Mueller. Mr. Walck purchased the
    farm on Saunders Settlement road
    from the late A. M. Barber which
    he operated until a few years ago,
    when he retired and his son Erwin
    W'alck, took over the farm. Mrs.
    Walck died in 1932. Mr. W'alck was
    ap active member of St. Peter's
    church.

    WALCK-At her home on Saunders Settlement road. Oct. 17th, 1932. Mrs. Helene A. Walck. age 56 years. wife of Frederick W. Walck. mother of Mrs. William A. Walck, Mrs. Elmer Kroening of Sanborn. Mrs. Martin Pfohl, this city, Edward of Sanborn and Irving (sic) at home. She is also survived by six sisters, three brothers and nine grandchildren. Funeral service will be held from the home Wednesday at 2 p. m. and 2.30 from St. Peter's church, Walmore, Rev. Edward Graubau (sic) officiating. Interment in Walmore cemetery.
