TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Norbert G. Lange, 78, a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home, after a brief illness, on December 16, 2010. He was born on June 5, 1932 to William and Esther Lange.

Norbert graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1950 and the University of Buffalo, School of Engineering, later earning his Professional Engineering License. He started his professional career at Stauffer Chemical and continued at Occidental Petroleum and at Wendel Engineering, where he was a principal. He was also a part-time engineering professor at NCCC.

He was awarded two patents by the United States Patent Office while employed by Occidental. Norbert never retired and continued the love for his profession as construction manager of Calspan, Niagara Falls Airport, Adams Fire Company Hall No. 2, Wheatfield and the WNY Breast Health Center, Amherst. He also built several private hangars at the Niagara Falls Airport and had his private pilot license.

A lifelong member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norbert served as past President and Sunday School teacher.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice (Milleville) Lange of 58 years; four children, Keith (Wendy) Lange of the Town of Wheatfield, Marsha Dixson of Saline, MI, Karen (Merwan) Mereby of Denville, NJ and Gregory (Barbara) Lange of the Town of Wheatfield; two sisters, Eleanor Moll and Gertrude Krull, both of the Town of Wheatfield; a brother, William (Nancy) Lange of Grove City, PA; eight grandchildren, Scott (Denise), Jeffrey (Jaime) and Aaron (fiancee Joelle) Lange, Shawn and Deanna Dixson, Sarah and Stephen Mereby, Austin Lange; four great-grandchildren, Marissa, Matthew, Bridgette and Abigail Lange; several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present Saturday from 5-9 PM and Sunday from 1-4, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Funeral services will be held Monday 11 AM in St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. ALICE R. LANGE, age 91, of North Tonawanda, NY, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on August 19, 2021 while at the DeGraff Memorial Hospital -Skilled Nursing Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 27, 1929; daughter of Hugo and Beata (Mueller) Milleville. Alice was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Sanborn, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and quilting group. Alice was married to the late Norbert G. Leroy J. Milsap, age 78, of North Tonawanda, died February 7, 2009, in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, after a brief illness. Leroy was a U.S. Army Veteran and had worked as a Chemical Analyst at DuPont Chemical, Niagara Falls, retiring in 1992. He had served on the Board of Directors of Niagara Lutheran Health System and was a member and past President of St. Martin Lutheran Church. He had also been an active member of the former St. Peter’s Ev. Retired Area Farmer Dies
Sanborn-William F. Lange, 77, a retired farmer, died at his home, Walmore Rd., Town of Wheatfield, today (March 18, 1960).
Born in Wheatfield Sept. 4, 1882, the son of Frederick and Ida Haseley Lange, he had resided in this vicinity all his life.
Mr. Lange owned and operated his Walmore Rd. farm for more than 40 years, retiring about 15 years ago due to ill health. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Walck Lange; two sons, William G. and Norbert G. Lange, both of Sanborn; two daughters. Mrs. Norman Moll, Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Elwood Krull, Sanborn; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Murr, Niagara Falls; also 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home and at 2:30 at St. Peter's Church, the Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

SANBORN - Esther E. Lange, 85, of 6154 Walmore Road died Wednesday (Oct. 28, 1981) In Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Wheatfield, she was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the church's American Lutheran Church Women. She was the widow of William F. Lange, who died In 1960.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Eleanor) Moll of Niagara Falls and Mrs. Elwood (Gertrude) Krull of Sanborn; two sons, William and Norbert, both of Sanborn; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Herbert R. Maxwell officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn.
