    John W. Beutel, 66, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness.
    Born in Sanborn, he attended Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls. Beutel served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany and achieved the rank of corporal before his discharge.
    Before and after his military service, he worked in the family business, William Beutel and Sons, a well drilling business. He worked there until 1964 when he went to work at the General Motors Chevrolet Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda. He worked there for 33 years as a repairman, retiring in 1997.
    In 1964, he married Patricia Ann Hickey. They settled in Tonawanda, where they were members of St. Amelia's Roman Catholic Church. Beutel was active in the parish's annual Catholic Charities Drive and was a past treasurer of the Tonawanda Boy Scout Troop 229.
    He also was a member of the Western New York Gas and Steam Engine Association; the Western New York Two-Cylinder Club, the Western New York Railway Historical Society; and the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.
    Prayers will be said at 8:30 A.M. Monday in the D. Lawrence Ginnane Funeral Home, 3215 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Amelia's Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda

    The bride, daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. Vincent J. Hickey of Colonial
    Avenue, Town of Tonawanda,
    wore a gown of white silk organza
    as she repeated her vows
    before the Rev. Eugene M. Radon.
    The bridegroom is the son of
    Mr. and Mrs. William N. Beutel
    of Sanborn.
    Floor-length turquoise organza
    gowns with floral embroidered
    bodices were worn by her attendants.
    Miss Carol Hickey was her
    sister's maid of honor. Another
    sister, Miss Elaine Hickey, was
    bridesmaid as were Miss Virginia
    Deck and Mrs. Richard
    Schwegler. All carried bouquets
    of yellow carnations.
    Miss Barbara Snyder was flow-
    er girl and her brother, Timothy
    Snyder, the ringbearer.
    Herman Beutel was his brother's

    best man. Ushers were Helmut
    Oswald and the bride's brothers,
    Donald and James Hickey.
    A royal blue hat and orchid
    corsage accented Mrs. Hickey's
    cream colored dress of acetate
    threaded with metallic gold. Mrs.
    Beutel chose a blue lace dress,

    white hat and orchid corsage.
    After a reception at the Red
    Lobster Restaurant, the couple
    lef for a trip to Washington, D.C.
    Their home will be in Rochelle
    Park, Town of Tonawanda.

    William N. Beutel, 92, a retired well driller, died Thursday (Dec. 21, 1995) in his home on Tallman Street.
    A native of Wheatfield, Beutel was a lifelong member and former trustee of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Walmore.
    He was a grain thresher from 1920 to 1950 in the towns of Wheatfield, Lewiston and Cambria. He then worked as a well driller throughout Niagara County from 1950 until he retired in 1965.
    Survivors include his wife, the former Clara L. H. Bartel; two sons, John of the Town of Tonawanda and Herman; a daughter, Hilda Snyder; a sister, Agatha Schaal of Gasport; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Walmore. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery

    SANBORN - Clara L.H. Beutel, a former teacher at St. John Lutheran School, Wheatfield, and Trinity Lutheran School, Lockport, died Monday in her home after a brief illness. She was 101.
    She was born Clara Bartel in North Tonawanda and attended local schools. She married William N. Beutel in 1931, when she stopped teaching.
    She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
    Mrs. Beutel enjoyed singing hymns, tatting, crocheting and making dolls for her grandchildren.
    Her husband died in 1995.
    Survivors include a daughter, Hilda Snyder of Sanborn; a son, Herman of Sanborn; a sister, Gladys Beutel of Sanborn; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

He leaves a son, Louis, of North Tonawanda; three daughters, Margaret of North Tonawanda, Mrs. William Beutel of Sanborn and Mrs. Hubert Beutel of Shawnee; a sister, Mrs. Matilda Tessmer of North Tonawanda and a brother, William of Jersey City, N.
