     Nancy Grace Pfohl, age 82 of Sanborn, NY, was called to her heavenly home on May 2, 2024 at the Elderwood at Lockport facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 24, 1942; daughter of the late Angus and Grace (Britton) Gray. Nancy was a long time active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn, where she served on the Altar Guild, quilters group, the archive group, and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Sanborn Seniors, and several craft clubs. Nancy enjoyed making crafts, baking- especially chocolate chip cookies, and the time spent with her family. Before retirement, she worked at a former restaurant in Newfane, "The Dairy", and the former Pekin Market.Survivors include two children, Jennifer (William) Baird, and Kevin (Gina) Pfohl; asister, Kathleen (Ralph) Chapin; and five grandchildren, Blair Pfohl, Jack, Lily and Sadi Baird, and Lola Pfohl.Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence P. Pfohl on April 11, 2024. They were married on June 17, 1967; a sister, Sally; and step-father, Wally Proefrock.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Sunday (May 5) from 2-5 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Kurt Jensen, on Monday (May 6) at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or school.

    TOWN OF NIAGARA, May 14-
    Angus Gray, 52, assistant chief
    of Niagara Fire Company I died
    suddenly at his Lockport road home
    here last night. Mr Gray had been
    confined to his home after suffer-
    ing a heart attack earlier this
    month.
    Born in Massachusetts, he had
    lived in Niagara county for about
    25 years. A member of the fire
    company for ten years, he had been
    assistant chief for five years.
    Prior to his firefighting exper-
    ience, Mr. Gray worked for the
    New York Central railroad for 28
    years and was secretary and treas-
    urer of the railroad's machinists'
    union.
    In 1940 he married Grace Brit-
    to, daughter of retired Justice of
    the Peace Samuel Britton, of the
    Town of Niagara.
    In addition to his wife, he is
    survived by three daughters, Nancy,
    Sally and Kathy Gray.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the Cornell and Daggett Funeral
    home, Niagara Falls, Saturday, at
    2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Glen
    Faucett, Sanborn. Interment will
    be in Memorial Park cemetery.
    Capt. Joseph Eydt has requested
    that all Niagara Fire Company I
    firemen report in uniform to the
    Military road firehall tomorrow at
    7 p.m. when they will go to the
    funeral home for a memorial ser-
    vice.
    Firemen first heard of Mr. Gray's
    seizure when a call for ambulance
    service for him came during a meet-
    of the company.

    TOWN OF NIAGARA - Grace M. (Britton) Proefrock, 86, of East Britton Drive, died Tuesday July 8, 1997) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was born May 12, 1911, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Samuel and Philimena (Lockner) Britton. she moved to the Town of Niagara when she was 5 years old. Mrs. Proefrock worked as a seamstress at the former Spirella Corset Co. in Niagara Falls for 15 years. She is survived by her husband, Wallace Proefrock; three daughters, Nancy Pfohl, Kathleen Chapin and Sally Frasca, all of Sanborn; four brothers, Philip Britton and John Britton, both of Niagara Falls, Harold Britton of Panama City, Fla., and Harry Britton of Satellite Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lucille Martin of Lockport and Dorothy Fredericks of Wilson; eight grandchildren;. seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Angus Gray, died May 13, 1953. She was the sister of the late Earl Britton, Samual Britton, Helen Ganshaw Robinson and Lorraine Amsdill. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 165 Genesee St., Buffalo, N.Y. 14203.

    Mrs. Britton was a native of
    Pittsburgh, Pa. She had resided in
    the Town of Niagara for 38 years.

    died Sunday at the Niagara Sanatorium
    after a long Illness.
    Mr. Britton was born In Lewiston,
    Dec. 14, I860, the son of the
    late Samuel and Nancy Ann Rom
    mel Britton. For many years he
    operated a bicycle store on Main
    Street, Niagara Falls. Later he
    ran a garage and auto sales rooms
    at Niagara and Uth Sts.. the Falls
    He had lived here for the past
    33 years.
    He Is survived by one son, Samuel
    E. Britton. Town of Niagara,
    a stepson. Harry Robinson of Niagara
