Sanborn - Sigmund J. Pfohl 66, of 2115 Lockport Rd died Wednesday May 29, 1968 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Sanborn and had been employed as a stock clerk at the Carborundum Co. He was a member of St Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walmore Road.
Surviving are his wife Christine Pfohl, a daughter Sylvia Dobbertean, Niagara Falls, a son Edgar John Pfohl, this city, a granddaughter, Nancy Dobbertean, two brothers, Louis and max Pfohl, Sanborn, and five sisters, Mrs Philip Kroening, Mrs. Jonas Haseley, Mrs. Mervin Haseley, Mrs. Marcus Haseley, and Mrs. Edwin Werth.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 PM at St Peter's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gerald E. Scheck officiating. Burial will be at St Peter's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Pike & Jones Funeral Home, Sanborn. The family will be present from 2 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

WHEATFIELD-Christine F. (Haseley) Pfohl, 92, of Lockport Road, died Friday (Oct. 17, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. She was born Oct. 6, 1905, in the Town of Lewiston, the daughter of Eduard and Ella (Williams) Haseley. She attended Niagara Falls High School and graduated from the Kelly Business Institute. She married Sigmund J. Pfohl on May 16, 1937. He died in 1968. She worked on the family fruit and dairy farm in the Town of Lewiston, where she packed apples in barrels that were shipped to England. Mrs. Pfohl was a lifelong active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a charter member and past president of the Historical Society of North German Settlements in Western New York. She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Dobbertean of Niagara Falls; a son, Edgar Pfohl of Littleton, Colo.; a sister, Elizabeth Milleville of Niagara Falls; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Ellen Pfohl and the sister of the late Erwin Haseley and Ruth Haseley. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. The Rev. Allen Griep will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Internment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Entrance Fund or to the Historical Society.

Christine F. Pfohl, 92, died Friday (Oct. 17, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. The former Christine Haseley was born in Lewiston. She commuted by train to attend Niagara Falls High School, and also graduated from Kelley Business Institute. She worked on her family's fruit and dairy farm in Lewiston. She helped pack apples into barrels for shipment to England. She married Sigmund J. Pfohl May 16, 1937. He died in 1968. The marriage of Christine F. Haseley,

Thursday at-St, Peter's Lutheran
church, Walmore, ai 4:30
o'clock. Officiating: at the service
was the Rev. John Pfohl, of North
Freedon, Wis., brother of the groom,
aassisted by the Rev. Edward Grabau,
pastor of St. Peter's church, Walmore.
The church was attractively decorated
with lilies and lilacs. Miss Elizabeth
Williams, of Lockport. cousin of
the bride, played appropriate organ
music during the ceremony. Miss
Martha Williams, cousin of the bride,
was maid of honor and wore a gown
of pink mousseline de sole, trimmed
with lace. Her bouquet,was of pink
snapdragons and blue larkspur, tied
with a blue ribbon. Louis Pfohl,
brother of the groom, acted as best
man.
Ruth Elaine Haseley, niece of t he
bride, was flower girl, wearing pink
dotted swlss and carrying a colonial
bouquet of mixed flowers.: Miss Ver-
one and Miss Lizzie Pfohl, sisters of
the groom were bridesmaids and both
wore light blue mousseline de sole
trimmed like that of the maid of hon-
or. They carried bouquets of snapr
dragons and larkspur, tied with pink
ribbon. Each wore a rosebud spray on
her hair.
The bride wore silk mousseline with
a long train. It was fashioned on
Princess lines, with a satin slip and
with a collar of ruffling trimmed with
orang© blossoms. The long veil fell
from a becoming cap of. braided tulle
and was caught with orange blossoms.
She carried a bouquet of white Bride
roses and sweet peas.
Immediately following the ceremony,
an Informal reception and dinner
for 125 guests were held at the
home of the bride. Among those attending
were Miss Elizabeth Mitchell
and Miss Esther Williams, this city,
and Mrs. A. E. Willams, Mr. and Mrs.
W. F. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. A. P.

Camann, Waldemar H. "Wally"
Waldemar H. "Wally" Camann, age 91, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. He was born in Bergholz, the son of the late Albert A. and Emma (Baars) Camann on January 26, 1917. Mr. Camann lived in Bergholz nearly all of his life and was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. He married the former Lucille E. Wilksen on April 26, 1941. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage until her death on April 23, 1996. Mr. Camann received his early education at Holy Ghost Lutheran School, followed by South Junior High School, quit school to work at Carborundum for a time during the Depression, then returned to school and graduated from Trott Vocational School in 1937.Mr. Camann started work at DuPont in 1938 as a welding apprentice and eventually worked in sheet metal layout, until his retirement in 1978. He also crafted and installed gutters on many homes in the area to supplement the income needed to support his large family.After retirement, the Camann's enjoyed traveling and enjoying the scenery, and for visits with far-flung family and friends. He was involved with volunteering from an early age and was always available to "lend a hand" whether to individuals or through organizations to which he belonged. He was a very active member of his church, the Walther League, the Lutheran Laymen's League, the historical society and had over 70 years of volunteer service with the First Volunteer Fire Company of Bergholz, Inc. Mr. Camann is survived by his children, sons, William (JoAnne) Camann, Kent, NY, Dr. Keith (Ellen) Camann, Okemos, MI, Richard (Sue) Camann, Plymouth, MI; and daughters, Cecile Beutel, Walworth, NY, Barbara Sniffen, Gainesville, FL, Audrey Pfohl, Highlands Ranch, CO, and Donna (Jeffrey) Zygmont, Salem, NH. He was very proud of his 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Roland (Bonnie) Camann, Niagara Falls; sisters-in-law, Doris Camann, Loraine Wilksen, Violet Wurm; and brother-in-law, Leslie Wilksen, and was Uncle Wally to many nieces and nephews. Lucille E. Camann, a retired employee of the Niagara-Wheatfield School District, died Tuesday (April 23, 1996) in Northgate Manor Health Care Facility.
Mrs. Camann, 83, of Binkley Street, was born Lucille E. Wilksen in Thayer, Neb., and was valedictorian of her high school class in Benedict, Neb.
She had lived in Wheatfield since 1934.
Mrs. Camann was an active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz and served on its Altar Guild. She also was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Lutheran Layman's League.
She was employed by the Niagara-Wheatfield School District for 10 years, as an audiovisual secretary and a library aide.
She also was a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband, Waldemar H. Friday, the day of her funeral, would have been their 55th anniversary.
Other survivors include three sons, William of Kent, Dr. Keith of Okemos, Mich., and Richard of Plymouth, Mich.; four daughters, Cecile Beutel of Fairport, Barbara Sniffen of Gainesville, Fla., Audrey Pfohl of Littleton, Colo., and Donna Zygmont of Salem, NH; a brother, Leslie Wilksen of Benedict; a sister, Violet Wurm of Lincoln, Neb.; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friday's services will be conducted at 11 A.M. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.

ceremony before an altar banked
with blue and pink hydrangeas. Two
altar vases held arrangements of
daffodils, white snapdragons, lavender'

Jagow, soloist, sang "Because."

The bride, who was given in marriage
by her brother, Arthur Wllksen,
was lovely In a princess gown of
white faille taffeta beautifully fashioned
with leg Cmutton sleeves ending
in a peak over each hand, The
sweetheart neckline was'fastened in
back with a row of tiny buttons and
the full skirt had a long train. Her
three-quarter length veil of illusion
tulle fell from a "geisha girl" headdress
with clusters of gardenias and
lllles-of-the-valley over each ear.
She wore a single strand of pearls
and carried a cascade bouquet of
gardenias and gypsophelia.
The bride's sister, Violet Wllksen.
of Benedict, Neb., was maid of honor.
She wore a frock of yellow taffeta
and the long full skirt fell from
a fitted bodice. Tiny bows of aqua
velvet ribbon trimmed the high
sweetheart neckline and dainty puff
sleeves. She wore a cluster of flowers
caught with- a bow of aqua ribbon,
with long floor-length streamers
in her hair. Her colonial bouquet
was of yellow roses, snapdragons
and blue Iris tied with a large
aqua bow. She also wore ar strand
of pearls, a gift from thte bride.
Miss Elaine Gade was Junior
bridesmaid and wore a gown of
aqua taffeta made like that of the
maid of honor. The neckline and
sleeves were trimmed with yellow
velvet ribbon. Yellow streamers
fell from a cluster of flowers in her
hair. She carried a colonial bouquet
tied with yellow ribbon and
wore a heart-shaped locket, a gift
from the bride.
Eugene Camann was. his brother's
best man while Albert Camann, Jr.,
and Roland Camann, also brothers
of the groom, were ushers.
_The groom's mother wore a sheer
black forck with lace.collars and
cuffs and s corsage of yellow roses
pnd lavender stock.

at the home of the bridegroom
for about 25 guests. The house was
attractively decorated with flowers,

Covers were laid for 13 at the bride's
table which was centered with a
three-tiered wedding cake, beautifully
decorated, and flanked by
candelabra, holding white tapers. In
the evening an open-house, reception
was held at the Bergholts hall

trip to Washington, D. G, the bride

In 1915, was a member of building committee for the present church building; good health all his life. Was in church last Sunday of his life. Survivors: 4 sons, Sigmund, John (in WI. is an A. L. C. pastor, ordained in 1928). WALMORE June 21 - The funeral of Mrs John Pfohl, 70, of the Walmore Road was held held Tuesday afternoon at St Peter's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband John and nine children, Rev. John Pfohl of North Freedom. Wisc. Sigmund Pfohl, Niagara Falls. Mrs. Philip Kroening. Mrs Jonas Haseley. Mrs. Marcus Haseley, all of Sanborn. Louis, Max, Eleonore and Mrs. Mervin Haseley, at home. The bearers were Hubert Pfohl, Rudolf Walck, William Walck, Philip Haseley, Eric Haseley, and Harvey Haseley. The flower bearers were Rudolph Kroening, Herman Kroening, Esther Kroening and John Haseley. The Rev. Edward Grabau officiated. Burial was in Walmore cemetery.

Prominent Fruit Raiser Stricken at Market.
Sanborn Farmer Dies in Buffalo
SANBORN, Sept. 14.-Edward L. Haseley; 63 years old, one of the best known fruit farmers in Niagara county, died suddenly of a heart attack on the Buffalo Commission market this morning. Mr. Haseley had driven a truckload of fruit to Buffalo and was seized with the heart attack shortly after his arrival there. He expired a few moments later. Mr. Haseley was a son of the late William C. Haseley and Caroline Hallert (sic), early settlers on the Walmore road. Mr. Haseley was born in the Walmore road homestead and had resided in this vicinity all his life. His wife, Ella Williams Haseley, died 18 months ago. She was a native of Lockport.
Mr. Haseley had always taken an active interest in community affairs. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church at Walmore and of the Lutheran Brotherhood. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and other farm organizations.
He is survived by one son, Erwin Haseley, and two daughters, Mrs. Christine Pfohl and Mrs. Elizabeth Melville (sic), all of the Saunders Settlement road; three sisters, Hulda and Agathe Haseley, both of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Susie Mackensen, of North Tonawanda, and one brother, Jonas Haseley, of the Saunders Settlement road. The funeral plans have not been completed.

MRS. HASELEY DIES
Saunders Settlement Road Woman, Active Church Worker, Passes
Mrs. Ella Haseley, wife of Edward L. Haseley, of the Saunders Settlement road, near Walmore, died in Memorial hospital at 7:10 o'clock this morning, following a brief illness. Death resulted from a heavy head cold which caused a brain disturbance. She was 57 years old. Mrs. Hasley (sic) was a native of Sanborn and had lived in this vicinity all her life. She was prominent in the affairs of St. Peter's Lutheran church; of Walmore, and was an active member of the Ladies Aid society of that church. She was widely known and had a host of friends. Besides hero, husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son, Christine, Erein (sic) and Elizabeth Haseley; five brothers, William, Albert, Hugo and Robert Williams of Lockport, and Edward Williams, of Sanborn; her father, G. H. Williams, of Sanborn, and two grandchildren. Plans for the funeral were being completed today.
