    Leona M. Plough, Former Resident of Salamanca.
    SALAMANCA - Mrs. Leona M. Plough, 87, formerly of Washington Street, Salamanca, died Tuesday (June 20, 1995) at the home of her son, James Plough of Jefferson City, Tenn., after a long illness. Born Nov. 12, 1907, in Meadville, Pa., she was a daughter of Clifford and Maude Harley Moffatt. She was married to Henry Plough, who predeceased her. Mrs. Plough was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Morristown, Tenn., and a former member of the Methodist Church in Salamanca. Surviving are a son, James (Gretchen) Plough of Jefferson City; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Warrenberger of Florida; a brother, Claude Moffatt of Ohio; and a nephew. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Plough; and a daughter, Ann Louise Plough. Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, Thursday (June 22, 1995) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. Willis Webb, retired minister of visitation for the First Congregational United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Little Valley.

    Farmer fatally Stricken
    SANBORN-Erwin G. Haseley, 55, of 2000 Saunders Settlement Rd., well known Niagara County farmer, died today (Oct. 20, 1962) at Ransomville General Hospital about an hour after suffering a heart attack at his home.
    A lifelong resident here, Mr. Haseley was a son of Edward L. and Ella Williams Haseley. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore and an active worker in the church brotherhood. He was a member of the Niagara County Farm Bureau and of the Extension Service. He was an exempt member of Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co.
    Surviving are his widow, Edna Kroening Haseley; 1 son, Ernest E. Haseley, who lives next door; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Grose who also lives in Saunders Settlement Road, and, Mrs. James (Gretchen) Plough, Batavia; and two sisters, Mrs. Sigmund Pfohl and Mrs. Martin Milleville, both Town of Lewiston.
    Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, followed by another service at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Church by Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

    Edna A. Haseley, the longtime owner of a family farm on Saunders Settlement Road, died Thursday (Aug. 22, 2002) in CrestWood Health Care Center, Wheatfield. She was 95.
    The former Edna Kroening was born in the Town of Lewiston in 1906. She married Erwin Haseley in 1932. Together, they worked on the family farm until his death in 1962.
    She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she had been active in its Ladies Aid Society and worked on church dinners. She also was a member of the Sanbornites Senior Citizens Group and enjoyed quilting and crafts.
    Mrs. Haseley is survived by a son, Ernest of Niagara Falls; two daughters, Ruth Grose of Daphine, Ala., and Gretchen Plough of Jefferson City, TN.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6169 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery

    Sanborn Farmer Dies in Buffalo
    SANBORN, Sept. 14.-Edward L. Haseley; 63 years old, one of the best known fruit farmers in Niagara county, died suddenly of a heart attack on the Buffalo Commission market this morning. Mr. Haseley had driven a truckload of fruit to Buffalo and was seized with the heart attack shortly after his arrival there. He expired a few moments later. Mr. Haseley was a son of the late William C. Haseley and Caroline Hallert (sic), early settlers on the Walmore road. Mr. Haseley was born in the Walmore road homestead and had resided in this vicinity all his life. His wife, Ella Williams Haseley, died 18 months ago. She was a native of Lockport.
    Mr. Haseley had always taken an active interest in community affairs. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church at Walmore and of the Lutheran Brotherhood. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and other farm organizations.
    He is survived by one son, Erwin Haseley, and two daughters, Mrs. Christine Pfohl and Mrs. Elizabeth Melville (sic), all of the Saunders Settlement road; three sisters, Hulda and Agathe Haseley, both of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Susie Mackensen, of North Tonawanda, and one brother, Jonas Haseley, of the Saunders Settlement road. The funeral plans have not been completed.

    MRS. HASELEY DIES
    Saunders Settlement Road Woman, Active Church Worker, Passes
    Mrs. Ella Haseley, wife of Edward L. Haseley, of the Saunders Settlement road, near Walmore, died in Memorial hospital at 7:10 o'clock this morning, following a brief illness. Death resulted from a heavy head cold which caused a brain disturbance. She was 57 years old. Mrs. Hasley (sic) was a native of Sanborn and had lived in this vicinity all her life. She was prominent in the affairs of St. Peter's Lutheran church; of Walmore, and was an active member of the Ladies Aid society of that church. She was widely known and had a host of friends. Besides hero, husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son, Christine, Erein (sic) and Elizabeth Haseley; five brothers, William, Albert, Hugo and Robert Williams of Lockport, and Edward Williams, of Sanborn; her father, G. H. Williams, of Sanborn, and two grandchildren. Plans for the funeral were being completed today.

Never complained of pain. Died 8:00 AM Sunday. Survivors: one son, William Jr., 2 daughters, Mrs. Lilly DeVantier and Mrs. Edna Haseley; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Text: Heb. 4:9-12

    Services Set For Aged Farmer
    SANBORN, Jan. 24 — Services for William C. Kroening, 84. of Saunders Settlement Road, will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow at the home, and at 2:10 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in S t Peter's Cemetery. Mr. Kroening, the oldest member of St. Peter's Church, died Sunday at his home. He was a veteran Niagara County orchardist and grain grower. Born in Walmore, as the Lock-port Road area was then known, Mr. Kroening also lived in LaSalle and attended St. Jacobl School at Bergholz. Mr. Kroening is survived by three children, Mrs. Hugo Devantier of Bergholz. William Kroening Jr. , and Mrs. Erwin G. Haseley of Walmore.

    Mrs. Kroening Dies
    Mrs. William Kroening (nee Bertha Pfuhl) well known in this village, died in Memorial Hospital Saturday night, after a serious operation. She was sixty one years old, and is survived by her husband, William Kroening, one son William, and daughter Edna at home and Mrs. Hugo De Vantier of Niagara Street, this village, three grandchildren, four brothers, Ferdinand of Holcottsville (sic), N. Y., John, Anton and Albert of Walmore, and four sisters, Mrs. Christian Wolf Sr., of this village, Mrs. Carl Haseley, Mrs. William De Vantier Sr. and Mrs. Anna Kroening of Walmore. She was well liked by all and leaves a wide circle of friends.
