    SANBORN - Rudolph J. Kroening, 64, of Fair View Drive, a member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. for 38 years, died in Erie County Medical Center Tuesday (April 7, 1987).
    The lifelong resident of Sanborn was the son of the late Phillip and Minnie (Pfohl) Kroening.
    He was a self-employed truck driver for 40 years and for the past year drove for the Buffalo Fuel Corp. He was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymen's League, and was treasurer and assistant bingo chairman of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. He was a former member of the Sanborn Band and a member of the Niagara County Volunteer Firemen's Association.
    He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Gombert) Kroening; sons, Arthur, Hartley, Darryl and Stephen Kroening of Wheatfield;. daughters, Mrs. John (Eileen) Gieseler and Naomi Kroening of Wheatfield; a brother, Herman Kroening of Sanborn; a sister, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Schneck of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren.
    Friends may call today and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz, where the Sanborn Fire Co. will hold services at 8 p.m. Thursday.
    The Rev. Stephen P. Roehrs will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. Contributions to the church are acceptable as tribute.

    Lorraine C. Kroening, 73, of Bridgeman Road, a longtime member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, died Friday (Oct. 8, 1999) in the CrestWood Health Care Center, Wheatfield, after a brief illness.
    The former Lorraine Gombert was born in North Tonawanda. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Wheatfield Senior Citizens, and the Sanborn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. In addition, she had attended the DeGraff Adult Day Care Center since 1993. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
    Her husband, Rudolph J., died in 1987.
    Survivors include four sons, Arthur, Hartley and Darryl, all of Wheatfield, and Stephen of Lewiston; two daughters, Eileen Gieseler of Wheatfield and Naomi Kroening of Lewiston; and 10 grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Luther Street and Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Bergholz

    Gordon T. Adams, of Niagara Falls, died on February 4, 2018 in Schoelkopf Health Care Center.  He was 80.  He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on June 15, 1937, the son of Gordon and Marie (Welder) Adams.  He served in the US Army.
    He worked for local florist delivering flowers in the Niagara Falls area for several years.  Later, Gordon worked as a cook for various area restaurants.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking and gardening.  His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Spencer) Adams on
    September 16, 2012.  He is survived by children, Cheryl Kroening (Darryl) ; Linda Garland; Jeri Garland and David Garland ; Mary Geschwender; Janie Hickok and Kelly Adams; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. 
    In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by siblings, Evelyn Garcia and Barbara Mardivosian. 
    Family present Saturday from 2-4 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls.  Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

    NIAGARA FALLS — Mary L. (Spencer) Adams, of Niagara Falls, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012, after a lengthy illness. She was 73. She was born in Bradford, PA on March 22, 1939, a daughter of the late Francis and Mary Spencer.

    Mrs. Adams moved to Niagara Falls as a child and attended local schools. She married Gordon Adams in 1963, and they were happily married for almost 50 years until her passing.

    She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses on River Road. She enjoyed word puzzles and her time with her family and friends, and loved her visits to the Kingdom Hall.

    In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children, Cheryl (Darryl) Kroening of Bergholz, Linda Garland of North Tonawanda, Jeri Garland of Niagara Falls, David Garland of Buffalo, Mary K. Geschwender, Janie Hickok and Kelly Adams, all of Niagara Falls. She is also survived by her siblings, Gail Luick, Raye Holka; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Joyce (late Bill) Mayne.

    Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Ave., on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

    SANBORN - Philip W. Kroening, 80, of 3056 Lockport Rd., died Saturday at the Niagara Falls Medical Center after a short illness. He operated a farm for the last 50 years on Lockport Rd. and since 1939 had operated a saw mill there also. Survivors include his wife, Minnie; two sons Rudolph of Niagara Falls and Herman of here; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Schneck of Wappingers Falls; a sister Mrs. Albert (Elizabeth) Haseley of Niagara Falls and nine grandchildren.     SANBORN - Mrs. Minnie Kroening, 79, of 3056 Lockport Road died Wednesday (Jan. 3, 1979) in Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
    A lifelong resident of Sanborn, she was a longtime member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore and a member of the American Lutheran Church Woman of St. Peter's. She was predeceased by her husband Philip W. Kroening, who died in 1972.
    Survivors include two sons, Rudolph Kroening of Niagara Falls and Herman Kroening of Sanborn; daughter, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Schneck of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; two brothers, Max and Louis Pfohl both of Sanborn; four sisters, Mrs. Jonas (Martha) Haseley, Mrs. Mervin (Verone) Haseley, Mrs. Marcus (Lizzie) Haseley, Mrs. Raymond (Eleonore) Craft, all of Sanborn, nine grandchildren five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sigmund and John Pfohl.
    Funeral services will be a held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    WHEATFIELD -- Funeral services will be held Wednesday for Clara B. Gombert, 79, of 2554 Wurl St., who died unexpectedly Sunday (Jan. 28, 1973) in Memorial Medical Center. Services will be held at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Albert W. Bahr officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.
