Herman E. Kroening age 86, was called to his heavenly home on December 22, 2014 while at the Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on February 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Philip and Minnie (Pfohl) Kroening. Herman was a self employed agricultural farmer in the Town of Wheatfield, and raised various farm animals. For many years he worked in his family's lumber yard with his father and brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Consier of Newfane; a sister, Esther (dec. Donald) Schneck; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Norma E. Kroening on July 27, 2003 and a brother, Rudolph Kroening.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael A. Keicher, on Friday at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home, following visitation. A private interment will take place in the Wheatfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

Norma E, Kroening (Schneck) age 73, of Lockport Road, Sanborn: was called to her heavenly home, to be with her Lord on Sunday July 27, 2003 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Buffalo, NY on June 10, 1930 to Victor and Esther (Schroer) Schneck. She graduated from Buffalo city schools and was employed at General Mills, in Buffalo for nine years as an assistant credit manager. She was a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting, and a member of the Lutheran Brethrin (sic) Church in North Tonawanda. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Herman E. Kroening; a step-daughter, Amy Kroening; three brothers; Donald (Esther) Schneck, and Harold (Wendy) Schneck both of Poughkeepsie, NY; Robert (Jean) Schneck of Fremont, NE; a half brother Nelson Schneck of NH; and two half sisters; Marilyn Schneck of Buffalo, Linda Winter of Hamburg; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Howard Kroening. Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Lawson on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Wheatfield Cemetery. PHILIP W. KROENING
SANBORN - Philip W. Kroening, 80, of 3056 Lockport Rd., died Saturday at the Niagara Falls Medical Center after a short illness. He operated a farm for the last 50 years on Lockport Rd. and since 1939 had operated a saw mill there also. Survivors include his wife, Minnie; two sons Rudolph of Niagara Falls and Herman of here; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Schneck of Wappingers Falls; a sister Mrs. Albert (Elizabeth) Haseley of Niagara Falls and nine grandchildren. The Rev. Harold L. Baum will officiate at services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church here. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the (Pike & Jones) Rhoney Funeral Home, Hoover Rd. here.

SANBORN - Mrs. Minnie Kroening, 79, of 3056 Lockport Road died Wednesday (Jan. 3, 1979) in Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
A lifelong resident of Sanborn, she was a longtime member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore and a member of the American Lutheran Church Woman of St. Peter's. She was predeceased by her husband Philip W. Kroening, who died in 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Rudolph Kroening of Niagara Falls and Herman Kroening of Sanborn; daughter, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Schneck of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; two brothers, Max and Louis Pfohl both of Sanborn; four sisters, Mrs. Jonas (Martha) Haseley, Mrs. Mervin (Verone) Haseley, Mrs. Marcus (Lizzie) Haseley, Mrs. Raymond (Eleonore) Craft, all of Sanborn, nine grandchildren five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sigmund and John Pfohl.
Funeral services will be a held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends will be present at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter's. Evangelical Lutheran Church fund, the family said.

Sanborn Resident Dies
SANBORN, Mar. 24.-August Kroening died today at the family home here. Funeral services will be held from the home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 from St. Peter's church at Walmore. Interment will be in Walmore cemetery, Mr. Kroening is survived by his wife, Augusta (sic) two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Anton Haseley of Niagara Falls, Philip and Mrs. Albert Haseley of Sanborn, and Albert at home; one brother, William, of Sanborn, and ten grandchildren

Born Sept 16, 1873, in Town of Wheatfield (Walmore) NY., baptized by Rev. von Rohr, confirmed April. 3, 1887 by Rev. J. N. Grabau; married Eleonore Fahrenwald Jan 26, 1899, by Rev. H. Mackensen. (He was the son of Ferdinand Pfohl and Auguste nee Milleville. Wife died in June 1947. Was a lifelong and very faithful member. Served many years on church council, sang in choir, assisted the pastor by reading sermons in services occasionally. In 1915, was a member of building committee for the present church building; good health all his life. Was in church last Sunday of his life. Survivors: 4 sons, Sigmund, John (in WI. is an A. L. C. pastor, ordained in 1928). Louis, Max; 5 daughters, Martha (Mrs. Jonas Haseley), Verone (Mrs. Mervin Haseley), Lizzie (Mrs. Marcus Haseley), Eleonore (Mrs. Gilbert Goeseke) of Akron, Erie County, NY, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Last Rites Held for Mrs. John Pfohl
WALMORE June 21 - The funeral of Mrs John Pfohl, 70, of the Walmore Road was held held Tuesday afternoon at St Peter's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband John and nine children, Rev. John Pfohl of North Freedom. Wisc. Sigmund Pfohl, Niagara Falls. Mrs. Philip Kroening. Mrs Jonas Haseley. Mrs. Marcus Haseley, all of Sanborn. Louis, Max, Eleonore and Mrs. Mervin Haseley, at home. The bearers were Hubert Pfohl, Rudolf Walck, William Walck, Philip Haseley, Eric Haseley, and Harvey Haseley. The flower bearers were Rudolph Kroening, Herman Kroening, Esther Kroening and John Haseley. The Rev. Edward Grabau officiated. Burial was in Walmore cemetery.
