    William W. Schildhauer, age 89 of the Town of Niagara, was called to his heavenly home on June 23, 2017, while at the Niagara Hospice House. Born in West Allis, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Walter and Erna (Meister) Schildhauer. Bill was employed as a program planner at the former Bell Aerospace, in Wheatfield. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Gladys (Haseley) Schildhauer, on August 22, 2007.     Gladys L. Schildhauer (Haseley), age 81, of Haseley Drive, Town of Niagara, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at her residence. Born in the Town of Niagara, NY on March 7, 1926 to the late Erich and Irene (Buehring) Haseley. She was a life long member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Walmore, where she was with the Women of the Church Quilting Group. Gladys graduated from LaSalle High School, was employed for several years at Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls and was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and worked at the L.A.D.D. shop in Niagara Falls. Survivors include her husband, William W. Schildhauer; they were married June 12, 1948; five children, Gary (Louise) Schildhauer, Joyce (Ed) Harris, Robert (Denise) Schildhauer, Wendy (Ken) Pendergast and Donald (Peggy) Schildhauer; a brother, LaVern (Ruth) Haseley; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Florence Haseley. Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bruce Gamaché on Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.     WALMORE, June 16-One of the
    loveliest weddings of the season was
    solemnised by, the Rev. Edward
    Orabow at the St. Peter's Lutheran
    church, Saturday when Miss Gladys
    Ludle Haseley, daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. Erich J. Haseley of Lockport
    road, was united In marriage to Mr.
    William Schlldhauer, son of Mr. and
    Mrs. W. E. Schlldhauer, Ninety-first
    street.
    The bride, given in marriage by
    her father, was traditionally dressed
    In a white satin gown with fitted
    bodice and yoke of illusion, bordered
    with a ruffle of Valencia lace, which
    also hemmed the long scalloped
    train. A ruffle of the same lace
    on the skirt of the gown was caught
    with tiny bow knots of white satin.
    The long sleeves came to a point
    over her hands. Her fingertip veil
    fell from a tiara of seed pearls and
    a single strand of pearls encircled
    her throat. She carried a bouquet
    of white roses centered with an orchid.
    The maid of honor, Miss Jeanette
    Schlldhauer, sister of the bride-
    groom, wore a gown of blue marqui-
    setta over tafffeta. She wore a
    matching headdress of blue flowers
    and marquisette and carried a bou-
    quet of yellow roses.
    Miss Eleanor Tubbe and Mrs. Hugo
    Walck, the bridesmaids, wore
    matching gowns and headdresses of
    pink and yellow marquisetts over
    taffeta and carried bouquets of
    American Beauty roses. The flower-
    girl, Miss Judy DuBois, wore a gown
    of blue with pink bows on the dress
    and in her hair. She carried a bas-
    ket of pink carnations and rose
    petals.
    Mr. Richard Tubbe acted as best

    man, and Mr. La Verne Haseley,
    brother of the bride, and Mr. Warren
    Lukk were ushers. The organ
    music was provided by Mr. Arnold
    Nuoffer of North Tonawanda and
    Mr. Paul Mehls sang "Oh. Tell Me
    Why," rob, Perfect Love" and "The
    Lord's Prayer." Palms and baskets
    of garden flowers decorated the
    church. The pews bore markers of
    whKe satin ribbons.
    The mother of the bride was
    dressed in blue chiffon with white
    accessories. The mother of the
    bridegroom wore an attractive dress
    of. aqua linen and accessories of
    black. After a dinner for 100 guests,
    the couple left for a tour through
    the eastern states. For her traveling
    outfit, the bride chose a twopiece
    white sharkskin dress with
    white accessories and an orchid corsage.
    The bride and bridegroom will
    make their home with the bride's
    parents in Lockport road.

    BENJAMIN C. WALCK JR.
    SANBORN - Benjamin C. Walck Jr., 54, of 2617 Lockport Road, died Wednesday Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.
    He was a native of the Town of Wheatfield and served during World War II with the U.S. Army.
    Mr. Walck had worked for the New York State Highway Department for 15 years at the time of his death and was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church Walmore, Wheatfield American Legion Post 145 Amvets Post 26 of North Tonawanda, Civil Service Employees Association, and the American Federation of State, County, and municipal employees.
    He is survived by his widow Lorena; four daughters Louise, Barbara, and Linda Walck of Sanborn, and Mrs. David (Marie) Shannon of Key, West, Fla.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Walck, and two sisters, Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Pfohl and Mrs. Herbert (Emily) DuBois all of Sanborn; and one grandson, three nieces and two nephews.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold L. Baum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
    The family will be present at Rhoney Funeral Home, Hoover Road, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

    Lorena G. Broecker

    Of Newfane, NY,  passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, in Elderwood at Lockport.  She was born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY,  on March 19, 1930, a daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude [Mante] Fuerch.
    Mrs. Broecker graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949. 
    She was employed with various businesses in the area and became an on site promotions person with Tops for over 12 years and was also a care giver.
    Mrs. Broecker served as President of the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary #1451 and the St. Matthews Ladies Guild and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
    She was involved with making quilts for Project Linus and always willing to help anyone in need.
    Mrs. Broecker was the wife of the late Burton D. Broecker and the late Benjamin C. Walck.
    She is survived by three daughters Louise (Gary) Schildhauer, Barbara St. Onge  and Linda (Charles) DeDario, seven grandchildren John Shannon, MAJ, US ARMY (ret), April (Anthony) Threet, Brent (Tara) Schildhauer, Kathy (Tracy) Taylor, Jenna (Wayne) Galloway and Angela (Josh Peters) DeDario and Brooke St. Onge, three great grandchildren Natalya, Keith and Emma,  also many nieces, nephews and friends in Walker-Hanover, Ontario.
    Mrs. Broecker was the mother of the late Marie (late Dan Light) Shannon.
    Her family will be present on Wednesday from 10-11 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7147 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM,  with the Rev. Kenneth Craig officiating. 
    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

    BERGHOLTZ, Sept. 8—A profu-
    sion of colored gladioli was used to
    enhance thealtar of the Holy Ghost
    Lutheran church for the marriage
    of Miss Lorena G. Fuerch, daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fuerch,
    M. R. 25, Niagara Falls, to Mr. Benjamin
    C. Walck. Jr., RD 1, Sanborn,
    son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin
    Walck, Sr., which was solemnized
    by thc Rev. Victor Dahlke.
    The bride wore a light blue gabardine
    suit with white accessories
    and a corsage of mixed summer
    flowers.
    Miss Lois Ferichs. friend of the
    couple and maid of honor, chose a
    brown gabardine suit with matching
    accessories and corsage of mixed
    summer flowers.
    Mr. Walck chose Reuben Haselcy
    as best man. The ushers were. Norbert
    Fuerch. cousin of the bride, and
    Herbert DuBois, brother-in-law of
    the bridegroom.
    Mrs. Fuerch, mother of the bride,
    was gowned in an acqua crepe dress
    with matching accessories and corsage
    of pink gladioli.
    Mrs. Walck favored a green silk
    crepe afternoon ensemble with white
    and tan accessories. She also wore
    a corsage of pink gladioli.
    A wedding reception was held at
    the home of the bridegroom for 75
    guests at 7 p.m. After a honeymoon
    trip to Philadelphia and Washington,
    the couple will reside at thc home
    of the bridegroom's parents, RD 1,
    Sanborn.

    Leader in Church Work Dies at 62
    PEKIN-Walter E. Schildhauer, 62, of 2577 Upper Mountain Road, died Friday (May 7, 1965) in Niagara Falls Memorial after a brief illness
    Born in Marshville, Wis. Mr. Schildhauer had lived in the Sanborn-Pekin area for 12 years, having moved here from Niagara Falls. He was a production engineer with the Globar Division of Carborundum Co. for 38 years and was a member of the Management Club. He was a past president of the Lutheran Laymen, Niagara Zone. He also served the St. Andrew's congregation here as president. He was a member of the church council, chairman of the board of elders, a member of the evangelism committee and acted as teen-age Bible class teacher of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church until the time of his death.
    Survivors include his widow, the former Erna Meister; two daughters, Mrs. John Andrews, Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Gerald Kanouff, Sanborn; a son, William Schildhauer, Niagara Falls; a sister, Mrs. E. Kunze, Milwaukee; a brother, Edgar Voelker, Milwaukee; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, Sanborn, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Services will be held at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Pekin, at 2 p.m., Monday. Rev. La Verne, J. Fitch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Niagara Falls.

    Erna Schildhauer Miller, 82, of Niagara Falls died yesterday (Nov. 28, 1984) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and had been a resident of this area since 1928. She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Pekin. Mrs. Schildhauer was past president of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She is survived by a son, William Schildhauer of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Janette) Lemley of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Hediger of Niagara Falls and Mrs. Olga Trapp of Milwaukee, Wis.; and 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Mrs. Ellen Kanouff. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church, Cayuga Drive and Pershing Avenue.     TOWN OF NIAGARA Erich J. Haseley. 86, of 8515 Lockport Road died Saturday (Oct. 28. 1978) in Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls.
    A lifelong resident of the Town of Niagara, where he had operated a farm at Lockport and Packard roads, he was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a former trustee and chairman of the congregation. He had served as chairman of the building committee of St. Peter's Lutheran School and was a charter member of Niagara No. 1,Volunteer Fire Co. He was also a former Town of Niagara Justice of the Peace and had served as town supervisor.
    Surviving are his wife. Irene; a son, LaVern Haseley; a daughter, Mrs. William Gladys Schildhauer, both of the Town of Niagara; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Florence Haseley. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul F. Wittenburg Officiating.

    He is survived by his wife, Laura (Wendt) Walck of this town; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Norma) Pfohl and Mrs. Herbert (Emily) DuBois, both of this town; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Allen and Benjamin C. Walck.
    Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, with the Rev. Harold L Baum officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
    Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Association.

    BERGHOLTZ, May 20—-Mrs.
    Gertrude Fuerch, 53, of Washington
    St., was found hanged yesterday
    in the attic of her home. Dr. Walter
    Altbach, Niagara County coroner,
    issued a certificate of suicide, according
    to the Sheriffs Depart-
    ment.
    Mrs. Fuerch's body was discovered
    by her son-in-law, Benjamin
    Walck, who was called to the home
    when bis wife found the doors
    locked,
    Mrs. Fuerch had been ill, according
    to Criminal Deputy John
    Ginty, who investigated.
    She was the widow of the late
    Fred Fuerch. Surviving are a
    dlughter, Mrs. Benjamin Walck,
    Wheatfield; two granddaughters;
    two brothers, Wally Monte. Bergholtz,
    and Leonard Monte, Sanborn;
    two sisters, Mrs. Francis
    Licht, Wheatflefd, and Mrs. Erna
    Sharts, North Tonawanda.
    Funeral services will be held
    Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Fretthold
    Funeral Home, North Tonawanda,
