Donald Robert Haseley, 97 years old, of Mooresville, NC passed away on Tuesday November 2, 2022. Don was born in Niagara Falls, NY to Caroline and Wilbur Haseley. In 1925 he graduated from Trott High School in Niagara Falls. After high school, Don enlisted in the Navy and served on a submarine in the Pacific during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge after the war, he returned to Niagara Falls and enjoyed a long and successful career with Dupont. Upon his retirement Don and Dorothy settled in Mooresville, NC. Don was an active veteran attending numerous submarine reunions in Galveston, TX and other activities honoring veterans in Richards Coffee Shop in Mooresville. He was the last surviving member of his WWII submarine crew. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by Dorothy Haseley his wife of 66 years; one sister and two brothers. He is survived by two children, Bruce Haseley of Scottsdale, AZ and Rob Haseley of Mooresville, NC; three grandchildren Katie, Hilary and Chris; and four great grandchildren Luke, Baylor, Noah and Dak. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to the Welcome Home Veterans Richards Coffee Shop fund for veterans of need, 165 N. Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115. MOORESVILLE - Dorothy Irene Haseley, 85 years old, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Dorothy was born in Niagara Falls to Eugene and Frances Goupil. In 1945 she graduated from Trott High School in Niagara Falls. She had two sisters and one brother all deceased. She was married for 66 years to Donald Haseley also from Niagara Falls. She had two children, Bruce Haseley of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Rob Haseley of Mooresville. She had three grandchildren Katie, Chris, and Hilary and two great-grandchildren Luke and Noah. A life long homemaker she loved flowers, cooking and entertaining family and friends. Raising and caring for her family was the most important thing to her. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 March 26th at the Cavin Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville.

Firefighters To Honor Capt. Haseley
Capt. Wilbur Haseley of the Niagara Falls Fire Department will be honored by his fellow workers at a retirement dinner Thursday at the Crown and Anchor Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Capt. Haseley retired July 1 after more than 41 years with the department. Born in Sanborn in 1899, Capt. Haseley joined the fire department in 1923 and was appointed engineer in 1932. He became a captain in 1956 and has held that position since.
As a member of the department, he has served under eight fire chiefs. His first fire was in 1923 at 11th Street and Buffalo Avenue. Capt. Haseley plans to visit his daughter in New York City and travel throughout the western part of the country. He and his wife live at 2244 Linwood Ave. They have four children and seven grandchildren.

Wilbur married STEINBRENNER, Anna Caroline on 3 Dec 1919 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. LEWISTON - Caroline A. (Steinbrenner) Haseley, of Fairchild Manor, formerly of Linwood Avenue, Niagara Falls, died Sunday (July 24, 1988) at the nursing home. She was born in Niagara Falls and lived there most of her life before moving to Lewiston this year. She was a production worker for several years at the former Brightstone Spring Water Co., Lewiston, and was a charter member and past president of the former Niagara Falls Grandmother's Club. She also was a past president of the Hammond Organ Society of Western New York and the recording secretary of the Salvation Army Home League for the past 16 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and former organist for its Sunday school. She was the mother of the late Alfred and Wilbur J. Haseley Jr. and sister of the late Gottlieb Steinbrenner, Emelia Ackerson and William Steinbrenner. Mrs. Haseley is survived by her husband, Wilbur P. Haseley of Niagara Falls; sons, Donald R. Haseley Jr. of Florence, S.C., and Gerald R. Haseley of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Sandra Anscombe of Collins Center; a brother, August Steinbrenner of Balston Spa, N. Y.; sisters, Rose Steinbrenner of Niagara Falls and Marie Hall of Fedhaven, Fla.; and eight grandchildren and 15 great - grandchildren. The family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home, Michigan Avenue at 10th Street. The Rev. S. Cyril Hurnyak will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Zion Lutheran Church, Michigan Avenue at 10th Street. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery. Contributions to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army will be acceptable as tribute.

Widely Known 81-year-old Niagara County Native Passes Here
Mrs. Ottilie Haseley. 81-year-old, native and lifelong resident of Niagara county, died at her home. 1820 Pierce Avenue last night. The funeral will be held from the home at 2:30 pm Saturday with services at St Peter's Lutheran Church Walmore, at 3:15 pm The Rev Edward Grabau will officiating. Burial will be in St Peters cemetery Walmore Born in the town of Niagara, Mrs Haseley lived on farms in the Lockport, Tuscarora, and Saunders Settlement roads before coming to Niagara Falls 18 years ago. She was a devoted member of St. Peter's church In Walmore. Her husband, the late William D. Haseley. died eight years ago. She is survived by four sons, Christ P. of Newfane: Elmer, of Lockport: Victor H. of North Tonawanda, and Wilbur P. of this city, and five daughters. 76, died yesterday in Cr>
rana, L. I , after a long illness. He
had resided on Long Island for about
four years.
As a resident of this city he operated
a lumber-mill knows as Steinbrenner
and Fisher. He resided at
1118 Pierce avenue for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Herminia
Steinbrenner. three sons, Gottlieb,
August and William Steinbrenner,
three daughters, Carolyn Steinbrenner
Hasley. Rose Steinbrenner Daubney
and Marie Steinbrenner Hall, all
of this city; a brother, Henry Steinbrenner,
White Plains, N, Y.; a sister,
Caroline Kuebler, Staten Island,
N. Y„ and grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Mr. Steinbrenner will be brought
to this city tomorrow.
The Rev. Leonhard M. Ludwig, St.
Paul's L.uthcran church, will officiate
at the funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday
at the Otto Redanz Funeral home,

Mrs. Steinbrenner Called by Death
Mrs. Maria Steinbrenner, 66 years old, 1118 Pierce avenue, a well known resident of the north end of the city, died today at Mount St. Mary's hospital.
Born in Germany. Mrs. Steinbrenner had resided In Niagara Falls for the last 50 years, during most of which time she was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Cleveland avenue and Eighteenth street.
She is survived by her husband. August Steinbrenner; seven children, Gottlieb J. August H., Jr.; Mrs. Wilbur Haseley, Mrs. Bernie Ackerson, Mrs. Ralph Daubney and Mrs. George Hall, all of this city; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are three brothers, Louis and John Mahanger, of Tacoma, Washington, and Casper Mahanger, and a sister, Mrs. Annie Fink, both of Germany.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's church Friday at 3 pm. with the Rev. John Kuder officiating. The remains will be at the Otto Redanz funeral home, Michigan avenue and Tenth street, until Friday at 10:00 am.
