IOWA CITY, IA — Lois Margaret (Haseley) (Walck) Burkhardt, 75, went to be with the Lord, October 20, 2011. She was born to the late Harvey and Elvira Haseley, June 1, 1936, in Niagara Falls, NY.
Lois was a homemaker and worked as a social worker at the Lockport Senior Centre. Lois loved spending time with her family and was passionate about making a difference in their lives and investing in their futures. She was a kind, caring, unselfish person who was always thinking of others.
Lois is survived by her children, Kent Walck (Mary Lou) of Benezette, PA, Dale Walck of Wheatfield, NY, Janet Smith (Kerry) of Rockwall, TX, Marsha Johnston (Brian) of Cary, NC, Marlene Horvath (Scott) of Garland, TX, John Burkhardt (Donette) of Tonawanda, NY, and Darcy Renna of Tonawanda, NY. She also is survived by 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; many nieces, nephews and special relatives and friends. She was predeceased by Arnold Walck and Sam Burkhardt.
A memorial service to honor the life of Lois will be held at the Lockport Alliance Church (555 Davison Road, Lockport, NY) on Friday, October 28 at 4:00 PM. A private burial will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the following charities close to Lois’s heart: Northwest Community Church Care Fund, 7712 Carpenter Fire Station Rd., Cary, NC 27519, or Dayspring Ministries Prayer Garden, 505 E. Boydstun Ave., Rockwall, TX 75087, or the charity of your choice.

to Arnold E. Walck. son of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Walck, Sanborn.

Mrs. Arnold F. Walck started
on her wedding trip through Can-
ada, Michigan, Wisconsin and
Iowa. She became the bride of
Arnold E. Walck in St. Peteer's
Lutheran Church, Saturday (Oct.
22, 1955).
The former Lois Margaret Hase-
ley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey H. Haseley, this village,
was escorted to the altar by her
father. The bridegroom is the osn
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Walck,
this village. The Rev Martin
Pempeit officiated.
Wearing pearls, the gift of the
bridegroom, the bride was at-
tired in a dress of skinner satin,
fashioned with a tight bodice, long
sleeves, and a bouffant skirt which
fell into a cathedral train. She
completed her outfit with fintertip
veil held in place by a seed pearl
cap. She carried a cascade of white
stephanotis and shasta daisies.
Helen Haseley was maid of
honor for her sister and was at-
tired in a coral srystalette dress
trimmed with matching velvet and
completed her outfit with a small
coral head dress. She carried a
cascade of shasta daisies to match
her dress.
As bridesmaids, the Misses
Esther Kroening, Beverly Pfohl,
Janice Walck, Gloria Walck,
Phyllis Mielke were all dressed
alike in purple crystalette frocks
trimmed with purple velvet and
wore hats to match.
Margaret and Karen Haseley,
sisters of the bride, acted as junior
bridesmaids and wore dresses like
that of the maid of honor and
carried cascades of shasta daisies
to match their ensembles
Gilbert Walck was best man for
his brother and Roy Haseley,
brother of the bride, and Jerald
Walck, brother of the groom, acted
as honor ushers. Other ushers were
Bertram Wendt, Donald Walck,
and Ivan Walck.
After the wedding, a dinner was
served at the Sanborn firehall with
about 300 guests attending.
