    Mrs. Margaret F. Pluff, age 94, of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY passed away Sunday, July 2nd, 2006 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.
    Mrs. Pluff was born in Luzerne, Switzerland on August 5, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Etine and Rosalee (Kuchler) Pierroz.
    She had lived in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, for many years, prior to moving to Sanborn, in 1951. She had resided in the former St. Mary's Nursing Home and then moved to the new Our Lady of Peace Residence when it opened.
    She was well known in as a furrier, who could remake or alter women's fur coats. She had taught adult education, at the Adult Education Building on Whitney Avenue, in Niagara Falls, for many years as well as at Starpoint Central School and Niagara Wheatfield Central Schools.
    Margaret was also know for her banking skills and great pies. She enjoyed playing the organ, and many neighbor's and friend could enjoy her playing during the spring and summer months when the doors were open. She was able to speak fluent French and German, and enjoyed traveling to Europe.
    She was a member of the Organ Club,and had played and many Senior Center's , including in Lockport, Niagara County, NY, for the Dale Association.
    She was a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church Ransomville, NY, and donated her organ to the church, when she moved from her home.
    She was predeceased by her husband Francis M. Pluff, who died September 17, 1970.
    Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Harrell, of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY; Joyce [ Donald ] Powell, of Detroit, MI; five sons, Francis J. [ Judy ] Pluff; Robert Pluff, both of Crossville, TN; John [ Linda ] Pluff, of Bridgeton, NJ; James [ Bonnie ] Pluff, of Sanborn, NY; Daniel [ Sandy ] Pluff, of Lockport, Niagara County, NY; two brothers, John Pierroz and Dennis Pierroz, both of Hamilton, Ont.; She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her sister Anna Pierroz and brothers Joseph, Aloysius and Etine Pierroz.
    There will be no prior visitation.
    Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, [ Rt. 429 ] Ransomville, NY. at 10 am on Wednesday, July 5th. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, Niagara County, NY. Should friends desire memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church 4671 Townline Road Ransomville, NY 14131 or Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1023 Swann Road, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY 14092.

  3. 6.  KROENING, Clarence Albert was born on 26 Feb 1925 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY (son of KROENING, Albert Ezra Nathaniel and HASELEY, Elisabeth Ellen Elise); died on 31 Dec 2007 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.

    Clarence A. "Squeaky" Kroening, age 82, of Sanborn, NY, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 31st, 2007 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY. He was born in Town of Wheatfield, on February 26, 1925, to the late Albert E. and Lizzie (Haseley) Kroening. He married his wife, the former Phyllis Walck, on September 7, 1946. Clarence owned the former Sanborn Milling Company, with his partner Erwin Pfohl for 30 years, and later worked for the Niagara County Highway Department as a parts man and truck driver. He served on the Town of Wheatfield Planning Board for 25 years. Clarence also served as treasurer of the former Bergholz Insurance Company. He was a life member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, where he held various offices. He was very active in the Lutheran Vespers radio program. He was a past secretary of Lutheran Charities where he received the Ralph W. Loew a Award for recognition of service in social ministries of Western New York. For many years he and his wife rented a large truck and filled it with quilts, used clothing, soap and various hats, over 20,000 quilts, 49 tons of material collected from various Lutheran Church's of WNY and delivered them to the Lutheran World Relief Warehouse in Maryland. He was still involved with this project this past year. In 2004 he received a certificate of appreciation from the Thrivent for Lutherans for his dedication service to his Lord through his work with Lutheran World Relief. Clarence was a past president and life member of the Sanborn Lions Club. He was also a 58 year member of the Sanborn Fire Company and its exempts. He was a Charter Member of the TriCommunity Ambulance Service, where he volunteered as a driver, in the late 50's and early 60's. He enjoyed being with his family very much. His hobbies were fishing and traveling. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Phyllis; three daughters, Linda (John) Pluff of New Jersey, Cheryl (James) Kluss of Sanborn, Sandra (Gary) Iulg of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Tanya (Ryan) Nakai, Todd Kluss, Nicole Pluff, Timothy (Nancy) Iulg, Dawn Iulg; two great grandchildren, Lindsay Ryan Nakai and Drew Tyler Nakai; sisters-in-law, Jane Kroening, Ann Kroening; brother-in-law, Arnold (Mae) Behrens; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Arnold Kroening, Edgar D. Kroening and Albert A. Kroening. The family will be present on Wednesday from 7 - 9 PM and Thursday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church - Walmore, Sanborn, NY at 11 AM on Friday, January 4th, with Rev. Bruce M. Gamache officiating.     Phyllis Rose Kroening, child of God, was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016, at her home under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice.


    She was born in the Town of Wheatfield, on April 16, 1925, the daughter of the late Philip C. and Rose (DeVantier) Walck.
    She attended St. Peter's Lutheran School and LaSalle High School. After high school she held various jobs including housekeeping, working at Moore Business Forms and at Bell Aircraft during WW II, as a "Rosie the Riveter", assembling parts for planes.


    Phyllis was united in marriage to Clarence A. Kroening on September 7, 1946, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn. They were married 61 years when Clarence was called home on December 31, 2007.


    Phyllis was a devoted homemaker. She loved taking care of and spending time with her family - children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She and Clarence traveled widely; they visited many other countries and nearly all states in the U.S. In her later years, Phyllis enjoyed many visits with her family in New Jersey and Tennessee and with her sister in Florida. She looked forward to Friday night dinners with her sisters-in-law and Sunday lunches with friends after church.
    A lifelong and faithful member of St. Peter's, she served on the Altar Guild, participated in the Women's Bible Study Group, and was a very active member of the Quilters Group. She and Clarence delivered quilts for many years to the Lutheran World Relief Warehouse in Maryland for those in need worldwide.


    Phyllis is survived by three daughters, Linda (John) Pluff of Crossville, TN, Cheryl (James) Kluss of Sanborn, NY and Sandra (Gerald) Iulg of Bridgeton, NJ, five grandchildren Tanya (Ryan) Nakai, Todd Kluss, Tim (Nancy) Iulg, Nicole Pluff, and Dawn (Jeff) Hiatt and five great-grandchildren Lindsay Nakai, Drew Nakai, Annabelle Iulg, Timothy Iulg, Jr., and Magnolia Hiatt, two sisters-in-law Jane (late Edgar) Kroening and Ann (late Albert) Kroening and many nieces and nephews.
    She was the the sister of the late Mae (late Arnold) Behrens.


    Her family will be present on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
    Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, with the Rev. Kenneth Spitler officiating.
    Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Niagara Hospice.

    September 7. at 3 o'clock when
    Miss Phyllis Walck. daughter of

    son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert

    united in marriage in a double
    ring ceremony with the Rev. Edward
    Grabau officiating. During the

    sang. "O Perfect Love." and "The
    Lord's Prayer." accompanied by Mrs.

    decorated with white asters and

    The bride, who was given In
    marriage by her father, wore an
    attractive white satin gown with a
    V-neckllne. shirred bodice, and
    long sleeves which came to a point
    at the wrist. The skirt ended in a
    long graceful train. Her finger-tip
    veil fell from a beaded crown of
    rhlnestones. She carried a bouquet
    of white rose buds white gladolli
    and baby breath.
    Miss Mae Walck. sister of the
    bride and maid of honor, wore a
    sea-green gown of nylon taffeta
    with a fitted bodice, bouffant skirt,
    and three-quarter length sleeves.
    She carried a colonial bouquet of
    yellow rose buds and gladolli and
    wore a gold head-band.
    Miss Shirley Walck, Miss Alive
    Haseley, Miss Elva Milleville, and
    Mrs. Wilbert Schimschack, as
    bridesmaids, wore gold gowns fash-
    ioned on the same lines as that of
    the maid of honor. They carried
    colonial bouquets of American
    Beauty rose buds and gladioli and
    wore sea-green head bands.
    Litle Janet Wendt was gowned
    in white taffeta and carried a
    colonial bouquet of yellow rose budus
    and wore a white head band. Little
    Freddy Mueller acted as ring
    bearer.
    The bridegroom was attended by
    his cousin, Mr. Wilbur Milleville,
    as best man. The ushers were Mr.
    Franklin De Vantier and Mr. Philip
    Haseley, Jr.
    The bride's mother wore a black
    dress with matching accessories.
    The bridegroom's mother also wore
    a black dress with matching accessories.
    Both had corsages of white
    gladolli centured with red rose
    buds.
    A reception followed at the home,
    of the bride for 160 guests The
    ride chose for travel a royal blue
    suit with black accessories and a
    corsage of white carnations.
    The couple left for a trip to New
    York City, Atlantic City, Philiadel-
    phia, and Washington, D. C. Uponm
    their return, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
    Kroening will reside in the Lockport
    road, Sanborn.

    Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kroening of Sanborn celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Kroening and Phyllis Walck were married Sept. 7, 1946, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn. He is retired co-owner of Sanborn Milling Co. and from the Niagara County Highway Department. The couple has three daughters, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    SANBORN-Mrs. Albert (Lizzie) Kroening, 65, of 3149 Lockport Road, died Thursday, (March 16, l961) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a brief illness.
    Born in the Town of Niagara, July 13, 1901, She was a daughter of Ferdinand and Wilhelmina Haseley and had lived in this area, all her life.
    She was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a member of the Women of the Church organization.
    Mrs. Kroening was the widow of Albert E. Kroening Sr., well known area farmer who died in 1965.
    Survivors include three sons, Clarence, Edgar and Albert Kroening Jr., all of Sanborn; three sisters, Mrs. Philip (Emma) Fahrnwald, Sanborn, Mrs. Edwin (Lily) DeVantier, and Mrs. Carl (Viola) Milleville, both of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Anthony Haseley, Lockport, and Hubert Haseley, Niagara Falls, and eight grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where services will be conducted by Rev. Alfred W. Walck. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    SANBORN — Philip C. Walck, 82, of 3971 Lockport Road, died Friday (Nov. 14, 1980) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. A lifelong Sanborn area resident, he was a farmer prior to being a production worker at the Carborundum Corp. for 18 years retiring in 1963. He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church; was treasurer and director of Cooperative Fire Insurance of Bergholz, which he belonged to for over 50 years; was a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens (he was senior citizen of the year in 1978); and was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire Co. Survivors include. his wife, Rose (DeVantier) Walck; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Phyllis) Kroening and Mrs. Arnold (Mae) Behrens, both of Sanborn and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. John H. Crilley officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.     SANBORN - Rose A. Walck, 86, of Lockport Road, a native of the Town of Niagara, died Friday (May 1, 1987) at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late William and Matilda (Pfohl) DeVantier. Mrs. Walck had lived in the Wheatfield area for most of her life. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Church Women, and the Town of Wheatfield Senior Citizens. She and her husband, Philip C. Walck, who died in 1980, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 1977. She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Kroening and Mae Behrens of Sanborn, and seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
