    Mr. Kroening, of Lockport Road. was a member of the Wheatfield Town Board, Wheatfield Zoning Board of Appeals and the Starpoint School Board. among other activities. Town of Wheatfield Supervisor Terry Kuehn called Mr. Kroening's death "a great loss" to both the town and its residents.
    ÒI found it was a pleasure to work with him,Ó Kuehn said. ÒI always found him to be an honest and sincere person. He always put the people first in the town when making his decisions. He'll be a great loss to the people of Wheatfield and the town government. Mr. Kroening was born May 2, 1933, in Wheatfield, the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Haseley) Kroening.
    He was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and a dairy farmer.
    Among his other activities: He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn; exempt member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Co.; elder and trustee of St. Peter's Lutheran Church; former Wheatfield dog warden; former member of the board of directors of the Niagara County Milk Co-op; Wheatfield Republican Committeeman; and a former member of the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation County & Town Group. Mr. Kroening is survived by his wife, Jane M. (Wendt) Kroening of Wheatfield; a daughter, Brenda Kline of Sanborn; two sons, Gerald Kroening and Mark Kroening, both of Sanborn; two brothers, Clarence Kroening and Albert "Jr." Kroening, both of Sanborn; six grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.
    He was the brother of the late Arnold Kroening,
    Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz, Wheatfield. The Rev. Allen Griep will conduct services at II a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wheatfield.     Services for Edgar Kroening, a former Wheatfield councilman and Starpoint School Board member, will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    Kroening, 61, died Friday (July 1, 1994) at his home on Lockport Road after a long illness.
    The dairy farmer and lifelong Wheatfield resident currently was a member of the town's Zoning Board of Appeals.
    He previously served a year as a councilman and one term on the School Board.
    He also served as the town's dog warden, a member of the board of directors for the Niagara County Milk Cooperative, a Republican town committeeman, a committeeman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation System for the county and town, and an elder and trustee at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
    He was an exempt member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company.
    Survivors include his wife, Jane M.; a daughter, Brenda Kline; two sons, Gerald and Mark; two brothers, Clarence and Albert Jr.; and six grandchildren.

    JANE MARIE KROENING, age 85, was called to her heavenly home on April 12, 2019 in Gilbert, Arizona, where she resided for the past two years. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on October 24, 1933; daughter of the late Elton and Irene (Blank) Wendt. A lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, where she was active with the seniors, Women of the church, choir member, and quilting.
    Jane was a resident of Sanborn for the majority of her life. She was employed at Starpoint Central School, in the cafeteria, where she loved to see her grandchildren standing in line for lunch. Hobbies and interests included sewing, bowling, gardening, growing pumpkins, and the time spent at the family cabin. 
    Jane was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Kroening, on July 1, 1994; a son, Mark Kroening; and a sister, Lorraine Witkop.
    Survivors include two children, Brenda (Rick) Kline of Eloy, AZ, and Gerald (Linda) Kroening of Sanborn, NY; daughter in law, Darla Kroening-Retzlaff; two brothers, Ronald Wendt and Joel (Barb) Wendt; a sister, Marlyn; seven grandchildren, Heather Kline, Jamie (Todd) Conklin, Jason (Courtney) Kroening, Lindsay (Shawn) Chapels, Tyler (Laura) Kroening, Matthew and Brock Kroening; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the DuBois, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday, May 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas Thorstad, on Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.

    The bride was given in marriage
    by her father. Her gown was of
    white chantilly lace and nylon tulle
    over satin. She wore a fingertip veil
    and carried a cascade bouquet of
    white carnations centered with an
    orchid.
    Mrs. Kenneth Witkop, sister of
    the bride, was matron of honor.
    She wore .a pink lace net gown
    and carried a cascade bouquet of
    deep pink carnations.
    Miss Marlyn Wendt, sister of
    the bride, was gowned similarly in
    blue. Miss Cheryl Kroening, niece
    of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
    She wore a blue lace and net gown
    and carried a basket of flowers.
    Joel Wendt, brother of the bride,
    was ring bearer.
    Clarence Kroening, brother. of
    the bridegroom, acted as best man
    and the ushers were Albert Kroening
    Jr., Ronald Wendt and Glenn
    Haseley.
    The reception was held at the
    Adam's Firehall, Nashville. The
    couple left for a trip to New York
    and Washington, D. C, and upon
    their return will reside in Lockport
    Rd., Sanborn.

    SANBORN-Mrs. Albert (Lizzie) Kroening, 65, of 3149 Lockport Road, died Thursday, (March 16, l961) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a brief illness.
    Born in the Town of Niagara, July 13, 1901, She was a daughter of Ferdinand and Wilhelmina Haseley and had lived in this area, all her life.
    She was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a member of the Women of the Church organization.
    Mrs. Kroening was the widow of Albert E. Kroening Sr., well known area farmer who died in 1965.
    Survivors include three sons, Clarence, Edgar and Albert Kroening Jr., all of Sanborn; three sisters, Mrs. Philip (Emma) Fahrnwald, Sanborn, Mrs. Edwin (Lily) DeVantier, and Mrs. Carl (Viola) Milleville, both of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Anthony Haseley, Lockport, and Hubert Haseley, Niagara Falls, and eight grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where services will be conducted by Rev. Alfred W. Walck. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    LOCKPORT - Alton P. Wendt of the Briody Nursing Home, a former Town of Cambria highway superintendent, died Sunday (Nov. 7, 1982) after a lengthy illness. He was 78.
    A native of Sanborn, Wendt also operated a dairy farm, worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad and was a well driller. He had worked for the Town of Cambria Highway Department for nine years, retiring in 1970. Wendt was a member of the Exempt Firemen, Sanborn, the Lutheran Brotherhood and the Highway Superintendent's Association. He was the husband of the late Irene Wendt.
    Survivors include sons Ronald and Joel, both of Lockport; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Lorraine) Witkop and Mrs. Edgar (Jane) Kroening, both of Sanborn, and Mrs. Carl (Marlyn) Gross of North Tonawanda; brother Arnold of Niagara Falls; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, N.Y., with the Rev. Herbert R. Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.

    Mrs. Wilhelmina S. Haseley, 67 years old, of the Lockport road, Sanborn, died suddenly at the home of her daughter Mrs. Fred Farnwald of the Lockport Road, Sanborn. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Haseley family home and at the St. Peters Lutheran Church at 2:30 pm. The Rev. Edward Grabau will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Walmore cemetery. Mrs. Haseley had resided in Niagara County for many years and was widely known in the Sanborn and Walmore localities. She is survived by her husband Ferdinand, two sons, Anthony of the LaSalle section, and Hubert C., Walmore, and six daughters, Mrs. Fred Farnwald, Mrs. Arthur Wendt, Mrs. Edward DeVantier, Mrs. Albert Kroening, and Mrs. Carl Milleville, all of Niagara County.

    Pioneer Resident Is Laid to Rest
    SANBORN, Feb. 23-The funeral of William F. Wendt, 76, who died Saturday at his home in Saunder's (sic) Settlement road, was held from the home yesterday at 2:30 p. m. and at St. Peter's church, at Walmore, at 3 o'clock and was attended by a large gathering of relatives and friends.
    The bearers included: Ben Wendt, Philip Wendt, Robert Wendt, Edwin Beutel. Rudolph Beutel and William Beutel. Flower bearers were Donald Wendt, Merwyn (sic), Wendt, Ben Walck, Jr., and Lawrence Walck. The Rev. Edward A. Graubau (sic) was the officiating Clergyman. Interment was in St. Peter's cemetery, Walmore.

    Wilhelm married BEUTEL, Emilie Helene on 9 Jan 1890 in Sanborn, Niagara County, NY.     Mrs. Wm. Wendt. Daughter of Wm. Beutel and his wife Henrietta, née Fahrnwald. Born Mar 19, 1870. Attended our Christian Day School. Confirmed may 14, 1883, by Pastor John Grabau. Jan 9, 1890 married to Wm. Wendt, who died Feb 19, 1938, had 5 children. Right after marriage, moved to Detroit Mich, there until 1901, then moved to present home of Alton Wendt, near Sanborn where she died. Jan. 3 lapsed into a coma and fell asleep Sun. morning Jan 7 (at) 3:25. Survivors: 3 sons, Alton and Wm. of Sanborn, Arnold of Bergholz; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ben Wendt Sr. of Sanborn and Mrs. Edna Walck of Median; 25 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Suffered from hardening of the arteries which it seems weakened her brain and affected her mind, this was already apparent about 15 yrs. ago, but was serious only in the past 6 yrs. or so. Was taken care of in home of her son Alton. Whole service was in Eng. Text: Is. 55:6-9

    Born Jan 7, 1879 in Prenzlau, Mark(sic) Brandenburg, Germany. Son of Wm. Blank and Frederika (sp - sic) nee Mehls. When 3 years old to America. Confirmed Apr. 10, 1892 by Rev J. A. Grabau. Married to Mathilda Wolf. Always quite healthy, and able to work until about the last two years, although he suffered for about 25 years with hernia. Last illness lasted about 10 weeks. May 4, 1951 taken to hospital because of a heart attack. Received Holy Communion just before noon May 21, and right after that underwent a minor operation and never recovered consciousness. Died about 5:25 PM. Survivors: 1 son, John Blank Jr.; 1 daughter Mrs. Irene (Alton) Wendt; 2 brothers, Gustave and William; 7 grandchildren. Ger text 2 Cor. 13:14, Eng text John 14:19.b

    Blank, 72, of the Lockport road,
    died at Memorial hospital, Niagara
    Falls, yesterday afternoon after an
    illness of several weeks.
    Mr. Blank was born in Germany,
    a son of the late William and Fred,
    ericka Blank. He came to this coun
    try when a boy and had been a
    successful farmer for many years
    His wife, Bertha Wolf Blank, died
    about a year ago.
    Mr. Blank Is survived by one son
    John N. Blank; one daughter, Mrs.
    Alton Wendt, both of this vicinity;
    two brothers, Gustav Blank, Nlag
    ara Falls, and William Blank, Gas-
    port, and'seven grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the home of the son, John N. Blank,
    Lockport road, Thursday at 2 p.m.,
    and at 2:30 o'clock at St. Peter's
    church, Walmore.- The Rev. Martin
    Pemert will officiate. Interment will
    be in Walmore cemetery.
