    Notes:

    Thomas O. Montie, was called to his heavenly home at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Terra Haute, IN, he graduated from Olean High School in 1959, served in the United States Air Force 1960-1964, and attended Concordia College in Bronxville, NY. He was an Air Traffic Controller until 1981 and then began work in the financial services industry, receiving many awards and earning the professional designation of Certified Life Underwriter. Throughout his adult life, he served on various boards in his church, most recently as a member of the Board of Elders at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Thomas was also on the Board of Directors of Lutheran Heritage Foundation. He was interested in all things involving aviation and basketball, and will be remembered by family and friends for his sincere Christian faith, firm handshake, a bright smile and a big laugh that came easily and often. Predeceased by his father, Albert G. Montie; birth mother, Jean (Francis) and adoptive mother, Alice (Krentz). Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sharon (Jagow) Montie; son, Timothy Montie; daughters, Sara (Nathan) Hembree and Carrie Montie; grandchildren, Aubrie, Michael Thomas and Bethany Montie, Peter, Victor, Judah, Benjamin, Gloria and Elijah Hembree; sisters, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Craig and Martha (Richard) Larson; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday, November 11th from 3-7 PM. Services will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street, Bergholz. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.     SHARON L. MONTIE, age 74, of North Tonawanda, NY, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, following a brief battle with cancer. Sharon was born on January 31, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY, to Walter J. and Hilda E. (Walck) Jagow. She grew up in Bergholz and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School. She earned an Associates degree in Medical Secretarial Arts, from Concordia Lutheran College in Bronxville, NY. She married Thomas Montie on September 3, 1967. They spent half of their married life in the Cleveland, OH area, before moving back to Niagara County in 1997. Sharon worked as an office manager for several medical practices and financial offices, beginning in 1982, until the time of her death.She was a church musician since she was a teenager, playing the piano and organ, and often directing choirs and special ensembles. Most recently, she was the organist and choir director at St. Mark Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, for over 20 years. She had a gift for leading people in worship. In her home, she was a faithful wife and mother.Survivors include her son, Timothy Montie; two daughters, Sara (Nathan) Hembree, and Carrie Montie; a brother, Charlie Jagow and sister-in-law, Marilyn Jagow; nine grandchildren, Aubrie, Michael, Bethany, Peter, Victor, Judah, Benjamin, Gloria, and Elijah; also sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday (January 29) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private committal with the family, will take place in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, on Saturday, prior to the memorial service. Friends are invited to join with the family at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, for the memorial service.     Walter J. Jagow, 37. died Sunday evening at the Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Jagow was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield. He is survived by his widow, Hilda, nee Walck, a daughter, Sharon Louise and a son, Charles Frederick. He is also survived by his father, Fred, four sisters, Mrs. Hugo Gade of La Porte, In.; Mrs. Melvin Williams of Sanborn, the Misses Maralyn and Elfrieda Jagow of Bergholz, five brothers, Howard of St. Johnsburg, Franklin and Erwin of Bergholz, Victor of Niagara Falls, and Frederick of Ft. Wayne, In. Funeral services will be held from the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., Wednesday at 2 P.M. and at the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz, at 2:30. Deceased was a member of the Men’s Club of the Holy Ghost Church, Lutheran Laymen’s League and Bergholz Fire Dept. Rev. Victor Dahlke will officiate. Burial in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.

    NORTH TONAWANDA - Hilda E. (nee Walck) Jagow-Wurl, age 94, of North Tonawanda, formerly of Bergholz, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on May 19, 2012 at the Northgate Health Care Facility, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, on October 21, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Hugo A. and Ella (Haseley) Walck. Hilda was self employed as a Beautician, operating the former Bergholz Beauty Shop, for 35 years. She was an active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and a Sunday School teacher. Hilda was predeceased by her first husband, Walter F. Jagow, in 1949 and her second husband, Wilmer E. Wurl, in 1987; also three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include three children, Sharon (Thomas) Montie of North Tonawanda, Linda (Robert) Martin of Hamburg and Charles (Marilyn) Jagow of Sherwood, OR; grandchildren, Timothy (Carrie) Montie, Sara (Nathan) Hembree, Donna (James) Reese, Christy (Michael) Cocci and Corinna (Matthew) Ashmead; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dubois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A memorial service will be held in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.     BERGHOLTZ - One of the loveli-
    est of the season's weddings was
    performed Sunday afternoon in St.
    Peter's Lutheran church when Miss
    Hilda e. Walck daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs. Hugo A. Walck of the
    Lockport road, became the bride of
    Walter F. Jagow, son of Mr. and
    Mrs. Fred W. Jagow. The Rev. Gra-
    bau, pastor, performed the impres-
    sive double ring service before an
    altar banked with palms and bas-
    kets of white and yellow pompoms.
    The bride, who entered the church
    on the arm of her father, was lovely
    in a bridal white gown of brocaded
    satin fashioned in a long full train.
    She carried a bouquet of white glad-
    ioli and pompoms, tied with white
    lily-of-the-valley tulle.
    Miss Mildred Hasely, maid of hon-
    or, wore a frock of dusty rose taf-
    feta, fashioned in a long waistline
    and full skirt. Miss Norma Mielke,
    bridesmaid, was gowned in twilight
    blue taffeta. Joyce Ferchen, niece of
    the bride, was flower girl, while Er-
    win Jagow, brother of the groom,
    was best man Ushers were Hugo C.
    Walck, Harold Walck and Howard
    Jagow.
    Following the ceremony a recep-
    tion was held at the home of the
    bride. Upon their return from a
    wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Jagow
    will make their home on Niagara
    road, this village. Prenuptial show-
    ers were given by Miss Mildred
    Hasely, Mrs. G. Roll, Mrs. Howard
    Jagow, Mrs. Hugo Gade, Mrs. Mel-
    vin Williams, Mrs. Arnold Stoeelting
    and Mrs. Edwin Ferchen.
