    Donald L. Walck, 53, died Friday (July 19, 2002) in a one-vehicle accident in Dansville.
    Walck was born in Niagara Falls and graduated from Starpoint Central High School in 1968. He also attended the Orleans-Niagara Board of Cooperative Educational Services and Niagara County Community College. He served in the Navy from 1968 to 1972 as an aviation electrician. He was stationed at various times in California, VA and Jacksonville, Fla. He made two six-month cruises to Antarctica. Walck worked as a machinist at Ford Motor Co.'s Buffalo Stamping Plant in Hamburg for the past eight years. Before that, he had worked at Eastman Kodak County, Rochester, and at Midland Machinery County, City of Tonawanda. Walck was a member of Lutheran Church of the Messiah, Lewiston; Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion; and the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include a son, Jason of Sanborn; a daughter, Kathryn of Niagara Falls; his mother, Jean of Cambria; a brother, Jerry of Ransomville; and two sisters, Patricia Purdy of Wheatfield and Pamela of Cheektowaga. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.

    Councilman Lawrence A. Walck, 66, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 1991) after he was stricken at his home on Upper Mountain Road.
    A native of Wheatfield, Walck had been a Cambria town councilman for 12 years and intended to run for re-election next fall.
    He had no opponent in his last campaign for re-election in 1987, when he was nominated by the Republican and Conservative parties.
    Walck retired June 30 as a compositor at the Tonawanda News after 42 years in the printing industry.
    He began his apprenticeship at the Lockport Union-Sun and Journal, then worked at the Niagara Gazette. He joined the Tonawanda News in 1960 and had served as chapel chairman for the International Typographical Union.
    He was a 17-year member of the Pekin Fire Company, serving in various offices, including as treasurer.
    He also was vice president of the Exempt Firemen of Pekin, local publicity director for the Lutheran Laymen's League and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Lewiston.
    Walck had coached baseball in Cambria and was a member of the Tonawanda and Niagara County Sportsmen's associations.
    Survivors include his wife, the former Jean Becken; two sons, Jerry of Lewiston and Donald; two daughters, Patricia Purdy of Williamsville and Pamela; four brothers, Herbert and Clarence, both of Lyndonville, Earl of Niagara Falls and Delbert of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Budnack of Newfane and Edith Sherbert of Rochester, and five grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Monday in the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.

    Mrs. Walck Dies After Long Illness
    Mrs. Edna E. Walck of 232 West Center St., Medina, died today (March 27, 1963) at Medina Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
    A native of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Walck had been a resident of Medina for the last 20 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Medina.
    Surviving are her husband, Andrew Walck; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Budnack of Newfane and Mrs. Edward (Edith) Sherbert of Hilton, N.Y., and five sons, Earl E. Walck of Medina, a Niagara Falls Gazette machinist, and Clarence A. and Delbert A. Walck, also of Medina, Lawrence A. Walck of Pekin and Herbert A. Walck of Newfane. Also surviving are three brothers, William E. and Alton Wendt, both of Sanborn, and Arnold Wendt, Niagara Falls; a sister, Mrs. Benjamin Walck of Sanborn; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home in Medina where funera1 services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Wilbur T. Lottes of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Walmore Cemetery in the Town of Wheatfield.

    MARRIED 50 YEARS: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Becken of Sanborn,
    above, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary
    Saturday at a reception and dinner in the Sanborn firehall.
    All their wedding attendants wore present. Except for a.
    brief period, Mr. Becken has funned most of his married
    life. For ten years he farmed the Carroll brothers farm in
    Pekin and since 1931. when he purchased a 172 acre farm in
    Upper Mountain Rd., has tilled his own land. Mr. and Mrs.
    Recken's family consists of four sons and two daughters,
    Ervin, Harold and Carl Becken, Pekin, Chester Becken,
    Lockport, Mrs. Jacob Steingasser, S a n b o r n and Mrs.
    Lawrence Walck, Pekin. They have 17 grandchildren and
    nine great grandchildren. Attendants present for the anniversary
    event were Mrs. Pauline Dirmyer, Mrs. Becken's

    Pioneer Resident Is Laid to Rest
    SANBORN, Feb. 23-The funeral of William F. Wendt, 76, who died Saturday at his home in Saunder's (sic) Settlement road, was held from the home yesterday at 2:30 p. m. and at St. Peter's church, at Walmore, at 3 o'clock and was attended by a large gathering of relatives and friends.
    The bearers included: Ben Wendt, Philip Wendt, Robert Wendt, Edwin Beutel. Rudolph Beutel and William Beutel. Flower bearers were Donald Wendt, Merwyn (sic), Wendt, Ben Walck, Jr., and Lawrence Walck. The Rev. Edward A. Graubau (sic) was the officiating Clergyman. Interment was in St. Peter's cemetery, Walmore.

Jan 9, 1890 married to Wm. Wendt, who died Feb 19, 1938, had 5 children. Right after marriage, moved to Detroit Mich, there until 1901, then moved to present home of Alton Wendt, near Sanborn where she died. Jan. 3 lapsed into a coma and fell asleep Sun. morning Jan 7 (at) 3:25. Survivors: 3 sons, Alton and Wm. of Sanborn, Arnold of Bergholz; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ben Wendt Sr. of Sanborn and Mrs. Edna Walck of Median; 25 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Suffered from hardening of the arteries which it seems weakened her brain and affected her mind, this was already apparent about 15 yrs. ago, but was serious only in the past 6 yrs. or so.     August Becken, 76 years old, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Bergholz. Born in Germany, he had resided in Bergholz for the past 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Fredericka; four sons, Richard and Edward Becken, Niagara Falls, N. Y.; Charles Becken, Pekin, and Albert Becken, Buffalo, two daughters, Ms. John Geltz and Mrs. Thomas Caffery, Buffalo; 13 grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. August King, Buffalo, Mrs. Albert (Minnie) Neubauer, Mrs. August(Henrietta) Wienke, Mrs. John Miller and Mrs. August Mikalski, North Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late residence and half an hour later at the Holy Ghost Church, Bergholz, Standard time. Rev. John Kuchenbecker of the Holy Ghost church will conduct the services and burial will be in the Holy Ghost cemetery.

    Mrs Becker Dies
    Former Falls Woman Passes at 84, Resided on Frontier 69 Years
    NORTH TONAWANDA - Funeral services were conducted yesterday for Mrs. Fredericka Becker, 86, who died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Gelz, 29 Poultney Avenue, Buffalo. The rites were held at the Gelz residence at noon and at the Holy Ghost church in Bergholz at one o'clock. The Rev. John Kuckenbecker officiated. Interment was in Holy Ghost. Mrs. Becker was born in Germany. She came to the Niagara frontier from her native land 60 years ago, and continued her residence in this area the rest of her life. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Gelz, and Mrs. Lena Coffrey of Buffalo, three sons, Richard and Edward of Niagara Falls, and Charles of Pekin, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

    TONAWANDA. N. Y., June 29. - Frederick Krueger, 75 years old. died Saturday evening at his home. 18 Long's avenue, after a brief illness. He was born in St Johnsburg, where he resided until 11 years ago- Disposing of hla farm at St Johnsburg he took up his residence in Tonawanda. He is survived by three sons, Charles and William Krueger. of North Tonawanda. and Benjamin Krueger, of Tonawanda: four daughters, Mrs. Ferdlnand Werth and Mrs. Edward Holland, of North Tonawanda; Mrs. Charles Becken, of Sanborn; and Mrs. George Dirmyer of
    Tonawanda; twenty-five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral was held this afternoon at three o'clock from the Krueger residence and an hour later from St. Paul's church at Martinsville, Rev. D. H. Steffens officiating. Burial was in St paul's cemetery.
