    Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at his home.
    He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 17, 1927, the son of the late Lester A. and Rose [Koithan] Wagner, Sr.
    Les graduated from LaSalle High School in 1944 and grew up on the family farm in Sanborn. In 1967, he opened Wagner's Farm & Market, where they sold his apples and locally grown produce. The market is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year. He was an active member in the Sanborn Jaycee's, the Sanborn Lion's Club, the Farm Bureau and the Cornell Cooperative Extension. Les enjoyed sailing, water and snow skiing and traveling through out the world, with his wife Sally.
    He was the  husband of 57 years to the late Sally P. [Peard] Wagner, who passed away on April 2, 2015.
    Les is survived by two sons Lester A. (Valerie) Wagner, III and Peter J. (Tammy) Wagner, two daughters Amy E. (Ricky) Winkelmann and Wendy R. (Dale Walck) Hiddie, ten grandchildren Larissa, Rhianna (Ryan) Brown, Lester IV, Taylor, Sarah, Ryan (fiancee' Andrea), Troy, Jillian, Derek and Brendon (fiancee' Casey), his brother in law Francois (late Kathryn) Petot, also many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late William and brother of the late Glee (Robert) Treichler.
    His family will be present on  Sunday, from 1-5 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM.
    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the Sanborn Historical Society.

    Sally P. Wagner, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015. She was born in Kenmore, NY on December 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Oscar and Kathryn [Graham] Peard.

    Sally graduated from Kenmore West High School, Cornell University in 1951 and from the University of Buffalo School of Law in 1954. She along with her husband started Wagner's Farm Market and had worked until retiring in 2013.
    Sally was treasurer and director of the Sanborn Library for over 40 years and was a member and served as treasurer of the First Baptist Church of Sanborn. She enjoyed reading, skiing, traveling throughout the world and doing crossword puzzles.

    Sally is survived by her husband of 57 years Lester A. Wagner,Jr., they were married on August 17, 1957, two sons Lester A. (Valerie) Wagner, III of Montville, NJ, Peter J. (Tammy) Wagner, two daughters Amy E. (Ricky) Winkelmann and Wendy R. (Dale Walck) Hiddie all of Sanborn, ten grandchildren Larissa, Rhianna, Lester IV, Taylor, Sarah, Ryan, Troy, Jillian, Derek and Brendon, a sister Kathryn (Francois) Petot, a sister in law Glee Treichler. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a infant son late William.

    The family will be present on Monday, from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jonathan Haseley officiating.

    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to the Sanborn Library.

    Loren Wallace DeVantier, age 81, of Niagara Falls, was called home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2015 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on April 13, 1934, he was the son of the late Edward and Thekla (Milleville) DeVantier Sr. Loren was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, and was employed as a carpenter superintendent with Laur & Mack Contracting Company for over 40 years, until his retirement. Loren was a life long member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he formerly served as a trustee and president. Loren was an exempt member of Lewiston No. 2 Fire Company, of which he was an active member for 51 years, and served as a past chief and EMT. He was also a long time member of the Town of Lewiston Fire Prevention Board. Loren enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife, but his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.

    Survivors included his loving wife that he married on August 21, 1954, Norma (Williamson) DeVantier; four children, Darrell (Margaret) DeVantier of Albuquerque, NM, Beth (late Eric) Ruff of Cincinnati, OH, Brenda Wagner and Neil (Cindy) DeVantier, both of Sanborn; 13 grandchildren, Michelle (Joel) Sexton, Jeanette (Aaron) Alexander, Eric Ruff, Justin DeVantier, Brian Ruff, Larissa Wagner, Jenna Ruff, Rhianna Wagner, Kadie Ruff, Zachary DeVantier, Lester Wagner, Ryan DeVantier and Megan DeVantier; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Doris) DeVantier of Cherry Hill, NJ; and two sisters-in-law, Elaine and Harriet DeVantier. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward DeVantier Jr. and Rev. Vernon DeVantier.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Jeff Milsten, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Rohr Street in Bergholz. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.

    TOWN OF WHEATFIELD - Edward R. DeVantier Sr., 83, of 2116 Cayuga Drive Ext., died Monday (Jan. 2, 1978) in Fairchild Manor Nursing Home.
    Born in the Town of Wheatfield, where he resided most of his life, he was formerly of Michigan Avenue, Niagara Falls, and was employed as an office worker at Carborundum for 43 years before retiring in 1956. He was a member of the Carborundum Retirement Club, the Carborundum Alumni Association, and St. James Lutheran Church.
    He is survived by his wife, Thekla (Milleville) DeVantier; four sons. Edward Jr. of Niagara Falls. Roger of Cherry Hill, N.J., the Rev. Vernon DeVantier of Blissfield. Mich., and Loren of Lewiston; two brothers. Harold and Alfred, both of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Edna) Mueller of Niagara Falls. and Mrs. Irma Blank of Sanborn, and several grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholtz, with the Rev. John Crilley officiating. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home inc., 8622 Buffalo Ave.. from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or to the Lutheran Vespers, the family said.

    Thekla E. DeVantier, a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bergholz, died Sunday (May 16, 1999) in Fairchild Manor Nursing Home. She was 101.
    The former Thekla Milleville was born in Wheatfield and she lived in Wheatfield and Niagara Falls before moving to the nursing home.
    Mrs. DeVantier was a member of the Women of the Church organization at St. James.
    Her husband of 55 years, Edward R. DeVantier Sr., died in 1978.
    She was a homemaker who enjoyed hearing about travels from her grandchildren who are spread out across seven states.
    Mrs. DeVantier is survived by four sons, Edward R. Jr. of Niagara Falls, Roger of Cherry Hill, NJ, the Rev. Vernon of Blissfield, Mich. and Loren; a sister, Helen Milleville of Niagara Falls; 15 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 A.M. today in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road at the corner of Rohr Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield
