    WHITE Joyce D. White, 53, passed away February 10, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born August 5, 1961 in Camden, NJ. Joyce graduated from University of Delaware in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She had over 20 years of nursing experience and last worked at Brooks Rehabilitation. She loved quilting, gardening, and bird watching. Joyce was always fun loving with family and friends, but humbly reserved. Family members include her husband of 30 years, Don White; son, Drew White; daughter, Nicole White; parents, Roger and Doris DeVantier; brothers, Wayne DeVantier (Pam), Keith DeVantier (Betty Jo), and Mark DeVantier (Vicki); and numerous family members. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15th in Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Feb. 16th in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, with Rev. Francesco Iacona as Celebrant.     Cherry Hill - Doris J. DeVantier, age 84, of Cherry Hill passed away after a short illness on December 5, 2017. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Roger DeVantier for 62 years. Doris was born in Niagara Falls, NY the first child of the late Clarence and Esther Wittkopp. Doris and Roger moved to Cherry Hill in 1957. After passionately raising four children (some required more effort than others), she decided to return to school and earned her diploma as a licensed practical nurse. She helped numerous patients in the Delaware Valley. She was a charter member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church where she was active and energetic in the life of the church until her death. Doris enjoyed knitting, sewing, ceramics, choir singing, and travel. Most of all she was devoted to her family. Roger and Doris especially cherished the annual vacations at Sea Isle City, NJ. They educated us about God's most incredible gift - our Family. Her amazingly strong character taught us lessons that are being passed down to multiple generations through her children and grandchildren. Her last few years of life were challenged by numerous physical and emotional heartaches. She faced all of them with a positive attitude, grace, and exceptional strength that are a true inspiration to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband Roger, daughter Joyce White and son Mark DeVantier. Left to cherish her memory include her children Wayne (Pam) DeVantier of Chesapeake, VA, Keith (Betty Jo) DeVantier of Cornelius, NC , daughter in law Vickie DeVantier of Richardson, TX, and son in law Don White of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Nine adoring grandchildren Drew White, Nicole White, Rachel (Joe) Rice, Audra DeVantier, Kristie Jo (Josh) Schutt, Brent (Kendra) DeVantier Jamie Lee (Ryan) Hillary , Laura DeVantier and Ross DeVantier, as well as four great-grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place at St. Michaels Lutheran Church 601 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, NJ on December 16, 2017 at 11:00 am where the family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:45 am.     TOWN OF WHEATFIELD - Edward R. DeVantier Sr., 83, of 2116 Cayuga Drive Ext., died Monday (Jan. 2, 1978) in Fairchild Manor Nursing Home.
    Born in the Town of Wheatfield, where he resided most of his life, he was formerly of Michigan Avenue, Niagara Falls, and was employed as an office worker at Carborundum for 43 years before retiring in 1956. He was a member of the Carborundum Retirement Club, the Carborundum Alumni Association, and St. James Lutheran Church.
    He is survived by his wife, Thekla (Milleville) DeVantier; four sons. Edward Jr. of Niagara Falls. Roger of Cherry Hill, N.J., the Rev. Vernon DeVantier of Blissfield. Mich., and Loren of Lewiston; two brothers. Harold and Alfred, both of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Edna) Mueller of Niagara Falls. and Mrs. Irma Blank of Sanborn, and several grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholtz, with the Rev. John Crilley officiating. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home inc., 8622 Buffalo Ave.. from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or to the Lutheran Vespers, the family said.

    Thekla E. DeVantier, a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bergholz, died Sunday (May 16, 1999) in Fairchild Manor Nursing Home. She was 101.
    The former Thekla Milleville was born in Wheatfield and she lived in Wheatfield and Niagara Falls before moving to the nursing home.
    Mrs. DeVantier was a member of the Women of the Church organization at St. James.
    Her husband of 55 years, Edward R. DeVantier Sr., died in 1978.
    She was a homemaker who enjoyed hearing about travels from her grandchildren who are spread out across seven states.
    Mrs. DeVantier is survived by four sons, Edward R. Jr. of Niagara Falls, Roger of Cherry Hill, NJ, the Rev. Vernon of Blissfield, Mich. and Loren; a sister, Helen Milleville of Niagara Falls; 15 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 A.M. today in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road at the corner of Rohr Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield

    Mrs. Esther L. Wittkopp, 71, of 2906 South Ave. died Saturday (April 10, 1982) at Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. She was a native of Walmore, N.Y., and came to this city in 1931. She was employed at Moore Business Forms as a presswomen from 1940 to 1960 and worked as a clerk at Slipko's food store from 1963 to 1973. She was a 50-year member of St. Paul's Calvary Lutheran Church and was active in church activities. She and her husband, Clarence P. Wittkopp, who survives, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 5, 1981. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Kenneth R. Wittkopp of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Doris) DeVantier of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Mrs. Albert (Bernice) McLean of this city; and eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. . Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Douglas R. Behn of St. Paul's officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's Calvary Lutheran Cemetery.
