    TOWN OF WHEATFIELD - John W. DeVantier, 68, of 2311 Niagara Falls Boulevard, died in Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, today (Oct. 26, 1977).
    A lifelong resident of here, he was elder of St. Jame's (sic) Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of the Planning and Zoning Boards of the town, a member of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company, and a former employe (sic) of the National Grinding Wheel of North Tonawanda, retiring in 1974.
    He is survived by his wife, Leona (Grace) DeVantier, three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Karen) Stoelting of Wheatfield, Mrs. Merrill (Priscilla) Bowen of Buffalo, and Mrs. William (Nancy) Stuckwich of Pendleton; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Edward DeVantier Sr., and Harold T. DeVantier of Wheatfield, and Alfred DeVantier of Cambria; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Edna) Mueller of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Erma Blank of here, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.     Funeral services for Leona DeVantier, 78, of Washington Street, will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.
    Mrs. DeVantier died Thursday (May 12, 1994) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after suffering a heart attack.
    The former Leona Grawe was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Wheatfield Senior Citizens. She was a past Sunday school teacher.
    Her husband, John W. DeVantier, died in 1977.
    Surviving are three daughters, Priscilla Bowen of Buffalo, Nancy Stuckwisch of Pendleton and Karen Stoelting; a sister, Mabel Matheson of Alabama; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter

    Was Lifelong Resident of Bergholtz Vicinity.
    BERGHOLTZ, Dec. 11-Albert F. DeVantier, 77 years old, a lifelong and well known resident of the Town of Wheatfield, died yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herbert Stenzel, of the Niagara Falls boulevard. Mr. DeVantier was formerly engaged in farming, having retired about 12 years ago. He was a member of St. James church and in former years took an active interest in church and social affairs in Bergholtz.
    He is survived by six sons, Hugo, Harold and John, of Bergholtz, Edward and Bernard, of Niagara Falls, and Alfred, of Sanborn; five daughters. Mrs. John Voelker, of Buffalo, Mrs. Stenzel. of Bergholtz, Mrs. William Groening (sic), Jr., and Mrs. John Blank, Jr., of Sanborn, and Mrs. Edward Mueller, of Niagara. Falls; 22 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. August Kroening, of Sanborn.
    The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Stenzel home and at 2:30 from St. James church, Bergholtz. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate and interment will be in St. James cemetery.

    NORTH TONAWANDA, March 24. Mrs. Alma DeVantier, 50 years old, of tho Niagara Falls boulevard, Bergholz, died Thursday afternoon at the DeGraff Memorial Hospital following an operation for appendicitis. She was a life-long resident of the Town of Wheatfield. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and half an hour later at St Martin's Church, Bergholz. Rev. Otto Bruss will -conduct the services and interment will be in St Martin's cemetery. Surviving are her husband, Albert F. DeVantier; five daughters.     George W. Grawe, 65, Town of Wheatfield assessor and former employee of the Richardson Boat Company, died suddenly this morning in his home, Nash Rd., Town of Wheatfield. He retires as a Richardson employee several months age.
    Mr. Grawe is a member of St, John's Lutheran Church and the St. Johnsburg Fire Company.
    Surviving besides his wife, the former Minnie Heubner; are four sons, Wilbur, Town of Wheatfield; Edwin, Buffalo; Howard, Natural Bridge, N.Y., and Donald, Port Lavaca, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. John DeVantier, Town of Wheatfield and Mrs. Homer Matheson, Childeraburg, Ala. Born in Bergholtz, Germany Mr. Williams came to this country when five years old with his parents. Since then he had made his home in Bergholtz and vicinity operating an extensive farm. He is survived by three sons. John and Ferdinand, of Lockport, and Philip A., of Niagara Falls, three daughters, Mrs. Proefrock, of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Fred W. Lindke. of Medina, and Mrs. Rudolph Mlllevllle, of Niagara Falls; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a brother, Gustav Williams, of Sanborn. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Proefroc.k home and at 2:30 at St. James' church in this village, The Rev.     Aged Town of Wheattleld Resident Passes after Brief Illness.
    NORTH TONAWANDA, Oct. 24 - Gustave Drawe, 70 years old, a well known resident of the town of Wheatfield, died at his home in the Nash road this morning, following a brief illness. The deceased was born in Germany, but came to this country at the age of 18 and had lived in the town of Wheatfield since. He is survived by four sons and two daughters, Edward, Herman, and
    Benjamin Drawe, and Mrs. Elsie Neumann, of North Tonawanda. Philip Drawe, of Tonawanda, and George and Walter Drawe and Mrs. Ruth Piper, of the town of Wheatfield. Thirty-one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral serevices will be held, from the home of his son, George, In the Nash road, Friday at 2 p. m., and at 2:30 p. m. from St. John's Evangelical church, St- Johnsburg. Interment will be in St. Johnsburg cemetery.

    She is survived by her husband, Gustave Grawe, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Neumann of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Arthur Peiper, town of Wheatfield; six sons, Edmund, George, and Walter, of the town of Wheatfield; Herman and Benjamin of North Tonawanda, and Phillip of Tonawanda. Mrs. Grawe leaves also 35 grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Kline, town of Wheatfield, Mrs. William Achterburg, town of Pendleton, an Mrs. AIbert Broecker of Pekin.
    The funeral will be held Sunday at two o'clock from the late residence and 2:30 from St. John's church, St. Johnsburg, the Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Johnsburg cemetery.

    Christian Huebner
    Christian Huebner, of St. Johnsburg, one of the oldest residents of the
    town of Wheatfield, died at his home on the Ward road last night, after a
    lingering illness. The deceased was born in Germany on May 14, 1842, and
    came here when a boy. He was a retired farmer. Besides his widow four sons, Charles and William Huebner of St. Johnsburg, Fred Huebner of Niagara Falls, Ont., and August Huebner of Rome, N. Y., and six daughters, Mrs. Charles Meyer of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Augusta Zastrow and Mrs. Fred Zastrow of Wilson, Miss Mary Huebner of Sanborn, Mrs. Henry Karsten of Lockport and Mrs. George Grawe of St. Johnsburg, survive. The funeral will be held from the late home at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon and a half hour later from the St. Johnsburg Lutheran Church, the Reverend Mr. Starch of Bergholtz officiating. Burial will be made at St. Johnsburg.
