    NIAGARA FALLS — Arthur W. Milleville, 87, passed away on December 1, 2013, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. He was born in Niagara Falls on July 30, 1926, the son of the late Arthur P. and Gertrude (Williams) Milleville.

    Arthur graduated from the original LaSalle High School in 1944. He briefly attended Niagara University before being drafted into the United States Army during World War II. He served in the Army Aviation Engineers as a Corporal of the 808 Regiment in the Pacific-Asiatic Theater from December 26, 1944, until his honorable discharge on November 11, 1946. He was the recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon and the Army Occupation Medal.

    After his honorable discharge, Arthur attended Valparaiso University in Indiana and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in accounting and auditing. He held various jobs including Timekeeper at Wurlitzer, Internal Auditor at Bell Aircraft Corporation, Control Clerk at E.I. DuPont deNemours & Company, Accountant for the Chevy Division GM and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Chemical Division. He was an accountant and Administrative Assistant with the Department of State, Division of Cemeteries for Western New York for 29 years. After retirement he volunteered his services with SCORE through the Smal Business Administration.

    Arthur was Past Commander and lifetime member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451. He was a NYS American Legion Chairman for Graves Registration and past member of the Bergholtz Fire Company and Sanborn Fire Company Bands, the Kiwanis Club of LaSalle, the LaSalle Sportsmens Club, and the Amherst Male Glee Club.

    Arthur was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in LaSalle and served as an usher and assistant scout master for their Troop 810. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and coaching his son in hockey. He enjoyed gardening and teaching his grandchildren the fine art of growing corn and pumpkins. He was also involved with the Inter-Club City Bowling League at Beverly Lanes for 20 years. Another passion he had was his family's German Culture. He belonged to the Wheatfield German Club and the Wheatfield Historical Society. Arthur loved history, reading books and sharing many stories of his younger life, helping with his family's dairy business.

    Arthur is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha "Myra" (Smith) Milleville; his children, Bryce (Maryann) of New Fairfield, CT, and Kelly (Robert) Braham of Wheatfield, NY; four grandchildren, Bryce and Laura Milleville, Kyle and Kelsey Braham; sister-in-law, Patricia (late Dr. Matthew) Lanighan of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Irma (late Robert) Read.

    There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service with military honors on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 10 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 736 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Interment will be private in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Milleville's name to Grace Lutheran Church or Valparaiso University, 1700 Chapel Dr., Valparaiso, IN 46383.     DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., is the honeymoon destination
    of Mr, and Mrs. Arthur W. Milleville who exchanged
    nuptial vows Saturday (Nov. 16, 1957).: The bride is the
    former Miss Myra E. Smith.
    St. John de LaSalle Church was the scene of the
    wedding. The Rev. Francis McKenna performed a doublering
    ceremony.
    The interior of the church was graced with arrangements
    of baby white pompons in vases. Organ music was
    provided throughout the wedding ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and MFS. William'
    Smith, 67th St. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Arthur
    P. Milleville, Cayuga Dr., and the late Mr. Milleville.
    A ballerina-length gown of
    Alencon lace fashioned with
    scoop neckline, basque bodice
    and bouffant skirt was worn by
    the former Miss Smith. A cascade
    of nylon tulle ruffles and a
    large satin bow formed back
    interest of the skirt.
    The bride's veil of French illusion
    was caught'to her lace pillbox
    headpiece and she carried a
    colonial bouquet of white baby
    roses centered with heather from
    Scotland.

    She was attired in an aqua
    velvet cocktail dress and'white
    feathered headdress. A miniature
    colonial bouquet of white'and
    pink roses centered with Scotch

    and ushering duties were performed
    by Albert Brophy, Pittsburgh,
    Pa., and Alfred Milleville,
    this city.

    party and immediate families
    was served at the Red Coach
    Inn. The bride's mother received
    in a navy blue lace dress which
    she complemented with dusty
    rose accessories and a corsage of
    pink roses. The mother of the
    bridegroom wore a purple dress
    with beige accessories and corsage
    of yellow roses.
    Departing on her Florida wedding
    trip, the bride was attired
    in a navy blue costume accented
    with white accessories and • a
    corsage of white roses.
    The newlyweds will make their
    home at 115 Deuro Dr.

    craft Corp., died yesterday (April
    10, 1956) at Memorial Hospital
    where he had been a patient; .for
    about a week. He was a past commander
    of La Salle-Post No. 1142,
    American Legion.
    Mr. Milleville was born in the
    Town of Wheatfield, May 29, 1893,
    the son of the late' William and
    Emma De Vantier Milleville: He
    attended township schools and was
    later employed by the Carborundum
    Co., until, he'moved to his
    present address where he operated
    the dairy for about 16 years. He'
    sold the business some years ago
    and began work at the Shredded

    William F. Milleville, Sr., 79, died this morning at his home on the Old Niagara Falls boulevard, town of Wheatfield. He was a lifelong resident and the husband of the late Emma DeVantier Milleville. Surviving are seven sons, Rudolph, Arthur and Edward of Niagara Falls, Herbert of the town of Niagara, Theodore, William Jr., and Philip of the town of Wheatfield; two daughters, Mrs. Hilda Holland and Miss Edna Milleville of the town of Wheatfield; 11 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother, John Milleville, and two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Ferchen and Mrs. DeVantier of the town of Wheatfield. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence and at 2:30 o’clock from the St. James church in Bergholz. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Burial will be in St. James cemetery.

    natives of Germany. Her late hus-

    Mrs. Williams was a member of
    Zion Evangelical Lutheran church,
    Munson avenue and Eighty-eighth

    John Milleville

    John Milleville, 80 years old, one of the pioneer settlers of the town of
    Wheatfield, dropped dead at his home in Bergholtz, a suburb of this city,
    yesterday afternoon. Heart disease is attributed as the cause of death.
    The deceased was born in Germany and came here 55 years ago, locating in
    Wheatfield. Three daughters, Mrs. William Schmidt, Mrs. Christian Ferchen
    and Mrs. Fred Devantier; three sons, John, William and Albert Milleville,
    all of Bergholtz; three sisters, Mrs. Ferdinand Pfuhl, Mrs. William Haseley
    and Mrs. Albert Walck and four brothers, August, William, Ferdinand and
    Albert Williams all of the town of Wheatfield, survive. The funeral will be
    held from the late home tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and a half hour
    later from the Grabau Lutheran church at Bergholtz. Burial will be at
    Bergholtz.

    John Williams died at his residence
    on the Boulevard one mile west of
    Bergholz, Sunday afternoon at the age
    of 81 years. He emigrated with his
    parents and numerous other German
    families in 1843 locating near the
    west end of the county which they
    named Bergholz where at that time
    t h e r e was nothing but wilderness and
    uncultivated lands.
    He leaves his wife to whom he was
    married in 1858, they having celebrated
    their golden wedding seven years ago;
    two sons, August at home and E. H.
    Williams, at Lockport, two daughters,
    Mrs. John Reitzlaff, of Los Agneles,
    Cal., and Mrs. Chas. A. Kandt, of Lock-
    port, twelve grand children and one
    great grand child.
    The funeral will be held on Thurs-
    day afternoon at the house at 1:30 and
    at 2:30 from the Lutheran church at
    Bergholz, Rev. Stark officiating. Inter-
    ment will be in the German Lutheran
    cemetery at Bergholz.

    The funeral of Mrs. Mary Williams,
    95-year-old former resident of tine
    La Salle section of this city, was held
    yesterday afternoon from the home of
    her daughter, Mrs. Louise Kandt. 229
    Niagara street. Lockport. where many
    friends and relatives were in atten-
    dance..
    Services were conducted at
    Zion Lutheran church, Cayuga drive,
    t h i s city, by Rev. Herman Meyer, of
    Trinity Lutheran church, Lockport,
    and the Rev. George Hoyer, of the
    Zion church. Interment was made in
    t h e Lutheran cemetery, Bergholtz.
    The pallbearers were four grandsons,
    William Williams, Arthur Williams,
    Edward Williams and Otto W.
    Kandt, and two great-grandsons, Harold
    Henning, Jr., a nd Walter Kandt.

    MRS AUGUST SY DEAD
    Mrs Daniel Sy, 77 years old, a resident of Bergholtz practically all her life, died at her home there last night after a long illness. She was the mother of Supervisor August Sy of the town of Wheatfield, Mrs. Bertha Williams and Mrs. Henry Urtel, both of LaSalle, and Mrs. August Miller of Bergholtz. Mrs. Sy was widely known in Wheatfield, and adjoining towns, and was always held in high respect by her many friends and acquaintances. The funeral will be held next Friday atfernoon at 2 o'clock at the family home in Bergholtz.
