Norma was a 1943 graduate of Tonawanda High School and was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ. Calling hours will be today (Monday, 2/6) from 4-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday (Feb. 7th) at 11 AM in Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan St. in Tonawanda. Everyone welcome. A private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.     The bride, given in marriage
    by her father, was lovely in a
    floor length gown of shell pink
    imported silk chantilly lace over
    a bodice of satin, trimmed with
    seed pearls and rhinestones,
    with long pointed* sleeves and a
    double skirt of nylon tulle. Her
    veil of illusion was attached to a
    pink rhinestone studded cloche.
    She carried a white Bible with
    an orchid.
    Mrs. Marjorie Matson was
    matron-of-honor and Miss Carmelia
    Sinicropi was bridesmaid.
    They were dressed alike in
    opalescent green faille gowns
    made with full skirts and wore
    matching gauntlets and* pink
    feather cloches. They carried
    colonial bouquets.
    Glen Folmsbee was best man
    for his brother and Louis Schmeichel,
    the bride's brother,
    was usher.

    dress with matching accessories
    and Mrs. Leon Folmsbee, the
    groom's mother wore a black
    dress and matching accessories.
    Both wore corsages of white
    gardenias.

    Hotel.
    For traveling through the New
    England States, the bride chose
    a powder blue velvet suit with
    matching hat and a fur scarf.

    Notes:

    Harold C. Kroening, 82, of Sanborn, NY died Saturday, February 25th, 2006 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, after a brief illness.
    He was born on June 8, 1923, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, the son of the late Edwin H and Edna [ Haseley ] Kroening, and step son of the late Helen [ Haseley ] Kroening and was a graduate of LaSalle High School, in 1942.
    Harold entered the United States Army on February 13, 1943 and was a squad leader serving in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal, prior to his separation from service with the rank of S Sgt., on November 20, 1945. Following his military career he was associated the family run Kroening's Garage in Sanborn for over 45 years, before retiring in 1985.
    He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, where he has served as an Elder and Head Usher for many years.
    He was an honorary member of the Sanborn Fire Company, and had been a member of the Sanborn Fire Co. Band. He served as a member of the Sanborn Library Board of Trustee's for several years, and was a member of the Sanborn American Legion and the Sanborn Area Historical Society.
    Surviving is his wife of 60 years, the former Janet E. Pack, a daughter, Amy [ Ross ] Folmsbee, of Sanborn; a daughter-in-law Kathy Kroening-Armstrong, of Rochester, Monroe County, NY; a sister, Gladys [ Benjamin ] Haseley, of Sanborn; a brother, Gilbert [ Norma ] Kroening, of Ransomville, NY; 4 grandchildren, Jonathan Folmsbee; David, Melissa and Laura Kroening, an aunt, Audrey Haseley, of Calabash, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by his daughter Sharon Kroening and his son, Bruce Kroening.
    The family will be present at Tuesday 3 - 7 PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road.
    Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 716 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, with Rev. Evan Gaertner officiating. Burial will be in the Niagara Falls Memorial Park, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.

    Janet E. Kroening, 81, of Sanborn, NY died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence in Lewiston.
    She was born on July 17, 1925, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Goerss) Pack, and was a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1942.
    Upon graduation from high school, she was employed at the Carborundum Company in the billing department. After having children, she was employed part time at the Sanborn Library. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, where she was an active member of Grace Ladies for many years, served on the Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and taught Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Sanborn Historical Society. She was devoted to her family and especially looked forward to time spent with her grandchildren. Janet was married for 60 years to the late Harold Kroening, who passed away in February of 2006.
    She is survived by one daughter Amy (Ross) Folmsbee of Sanborn, one daughter-in-law Kathryn(Kelly) Armstrong of Rochester, four grandchildren Laura, Melisa and David Kroening and Jonathan Folmsbee. Sister-in-law of Gilbert & Norma Kroening and Gladys (late Benjamin) Haseley. She is also survived by her aide and good friend Calleta Jackson.
    She was the mother of the late Bruce Kroening.
    The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church 71.6 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, with the Rev. Evan Gaertner officiating.

    SANBORN - Edwin H. Kroening, 72, of 2849 Saunders Settlement Road was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, Monday (Feb. 11, 1974) after suffering an apparent heart attack at work. Mr. Kroening Was a native of the Town of Niagara and had lived in Sanborn for the last 50 years, where he had owned and operated Kroening Garage on Route 31 for the last 49 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore; a charter member of the Sanborn Lions Club and an honorary member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co.
    He is survived by his wife, Helen Haseley Kroening; two sons, Harold and Gilbert Kroening; and a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin (Gladys) Haseley, all of Sanborn. He was the father of the late Miss Sharon L. Kroening. Also surviving are nine grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore. The Rev. Harold L. Baum will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
    The family will be present at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Inc., Sanborn, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday.

    Niagara. Falls, Feb. l6-Mrs. Edna Kroenig (sic), 28 years old, of Sanborn, died here today in Memorial Hospital of pneumonia. She yesterday gave birth to a son, Richard, who survives.
    Mrs. Kroenig (sic) was a native of this city and moved to Sanborn with her husband, Edwin Kroenig (sic), about six years ago. Besides her husband and ..... son, she is survived by two other children, Harold and Gladys; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Haseley, and a brother, Herbert Haseley. Niagara Falls. Services will be held at the home and at the Lutheran Church at Walmore on Friday. Burial will be at Walmore.

    Mrs. Kroening Is Buried at Walmore
    SANBORN, Feb. 20.-The funeral of Mrs. Edna Haseley Kroening, aged 28 years, wife of Edwin Kroening of the Saunder's (sic) Settlement road, who died at Niagara Falls Memorial hospital on Tuesday, which was held from her late home on Friday at 2 p. m., and 2:30 p. m. from St. Peter's church at Walmore, was one of the largest ever held in this community. A wonderful profusion of beautiful floral tributes bespoke of the high esteem in which she was held by all who knew her. The bearers were cousins and included Messrs. Martin Pfohl, Edwin Haseley. Segmund (sic) Mackensen, William Kroening, Segmund (sic) Pfohl and Henry Thiele. Rev. Edward Graubau (sic) officiated. Burial was in Walmore cemetery.

    Elsie A. Pack, formerly of Royal Park Apartments, died Friday (Aug. 23, 1985), in Fairchild Manor Nursing Home, Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. She was 80. Mrs. Pack, 80, was born in Wheatfield and lived in this area all of her life. She formerly worked at Greenwald's Restaurant and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and the Sanbornites Senior Citizen Club. She was the wife of the late William Pack. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Janet) Kroening of Sanborn, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Inc. 8622 Buffalo Ave. with the Rev. Erwin Brese officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Lewiston. Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church or to the Activity Fund at Fairchild Manor Nursing Home are acceptable as tribute.
