    WHEATFIELD - Charles J. Forsey, age 88, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on December 24, 2010. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 7, 1922 to the late Albert and Helen (Martin) Forsey. Beloved husband of the late Bernice (Williams) Forsey.

    He was a member of the Bergholz German Band, Bergholz Volunteer Fire Company and an active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz. A World War II Veteran, Charles was a Sergeant in the 14th Armored Division, 94th Recon. in Europe. He participated in the Vosges Mountain Campaign where he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. After returning from the war he worked at Olin Chemical as a machinist for 42 years. Charles was a member of the Wheatfield Republican Club, American Legion Post 1451, VFW Post 54, and Military Order of the Purple Heart John Paul Bobo Chapter 264, where he served as treasurer for several years. He loved playing euchre, softball, bowling, and being with family.

    He is survived by five children, Richard (Colleen), Robert (Marsha), James, Marilyn (Andrew) Dawe, and Carol (Scott) Meisner; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Olive Chaddock, Elaine (Alvin) Eichin of Titusville, Florida and June (Myron) Stenzel of Niagara Falls; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was predeceased by his brother, Albert, Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Norma and Sheila Forsey.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Monday from 11 AM - 2 PM, followed by a graveside service at 3 PM conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Organ Fund.

    WHEATFIELD — Bernice E. Forsey (Williams), age 86, of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home on December 16, 2010 at ElderWood Health Care at Crestwood. Born March 30, 1924 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Arthur and Eleanor (Ferchen) Williams. A lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz where she was active in the choir, quilters and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Bernice was also a member of the Bergholz German Band, Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Historical Society of North German Settlements in Western New York. During World War II, she worked at Bell Aircraft and later at the Carborundum Company, Abrasives division in Wheatfield. Bernice enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charles Forsey; five children, Richard (Colleen), Forsey, Bob (Marsha) Forsey, Jim Forsey, Marilyn (Andy) Dawe and Carol (Scott) Misener; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Olive Chaddock, Elaine (Al) Eichin and June (Mike) Stenzel; and brother-in-law, Elmer Forsey.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Monday at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street, in Bergholz. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Organ Fund.

    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Forsey of Wheatfield celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Forsey and Bernice Williams were married June 15, 1946, in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz. He is a retired machinist for Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp., Niagara Falls; she is retired from Carborundum Abrasives, Wheatfield. They have five children, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
