    Obituary

    DOLORES A. HILL, age 84, of Cambria, NY, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on August 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. Born in the hamlet of Bergholz, Town of Wheatfield on July 5, 1935; daughter of the late Rudolph and Alma (Stoelting) Jagow. She was a Niagara Falls High School graduate, and was employed at Bell Aerospace, and later at Union Carbide, in the office. Dolores was a devoted homemaker, a lifelong active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where she served as organist for many years, helped with Vacation Bible School, was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Altar Guild, and the LWML. Dolores was also a member of the German Historical Society, loved music, baking, gardening, playing cards with the card club, and the quality time spent with her family and friends.
    Survivors include her loving husband, Arthur Hill. They were united in marriage on June 27, 1959; two children, Stephen Hill of Bergholz, and Laurie (Thomas) Wikander of Wheatfield; six grandchildren, Joshua Waller, Britney and Christopher Hill, and Sarah, Jessica and Madeline Wikander; and three great-grandchildren, Seth, Christian and Eden.
    Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Thursday (August 22) from 4-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Denton White, on Friday (August 23) at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Road and Luther Street, Bergholz. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Organ Fund.

    The Rev. Robert F. Jaeger officiated at a
    double-ring ceremony at Holy Ghost Lutheran
    Church.
    Carnations and delphinium decorated the

    THE BRIDE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
    Rudolph Jagow, Washington St., and the late
    Mr. Jagow, was given in marriage by her
    cousin, Herbert Goers*, to Mr. Hill, son of
    Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hill, Woodland Ave.
    The bride's gown was styled with a
    Chantilly lace bodice and sahrina neckline.
    A taffeta cummerbund topped her full skirt
    of silk organza, which was scattered with
    lace tppUautf. A profile cloche of sequined
    lace held her veil of silk illusion.
    MRS. ERNEST HASELEY was matron of
    honor. She wore a ballerina length gown of
    blue silk organza over taffeta. It was fashioned
    with a scoop neckline, high empire
    bodice and a sheer front panel which fell
    over her full skirt. She wore a matching band
    of silk organza flowers to hold her flyaway
    veil.
    Mrs. Peter Moore, sister of the bridegroom;
    and Mrs. Marvin Stoelting and Miss
    Marlcne Townsend, bridesmaids, were attired
    in pink ensembles styled like that of
    the honor attendants. Miss Paulina Frerichs
    was flower girl.
    David Young was best man. Donald
    Goerss, Ernest Haseley and Marvin Werth
    .seated the wedding guests.
    FOR A RECEPTION at the Bergholtz
    Fire Hall, the mother of the bride wore a
    blue lace dress with white, accessories and
    a corsage of red roses. The mother of the a
    bridegroom chose a pink lace dress with
    white accessories and a corsage of red roses.
    Mr. and Mrs. Hill left on a honeymoon
    to Washington, D. C. They will reside in
    Washington St.

    BERGHOLTZ, N. Y. Oct. 11 - Funeral services for Rudolph C. Jagow, who died Friday at his home in Niagara road, after a lingering illness, were largely attended. Almost 300 friends relatives and neighbors from all over Niagara county, were at the Holy Ghost Lutheran church services which were held from the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 at the Holy Ghost church. The bearers were Edwin J. Camann, Edward H. Eggert, Walter Mielke, Paul Mueller, Ervin ONeil and Arthur Stoelting. Honorary bearers were Christ Burow, George Camann, Valerius Ferchen, Jr., Dell Harvey. Arthur Heuer, William Loeschke, Henry Smith, Alvin Schimschack and Ralph Wittkopp. Mr. Jagow was born on May 12, 1901, at the corner of Hunt and Cayuga streets, this village. He was baptlzed on May 19 at the Holy Ghost church. When three years old, he moved with his parents to the corner of Walmore road and Old Falls boulevard. He attended the Holy Ghost parochial school. He was confirmed on March 28, 1915, In the Holy Ghost Evangelical Lutheran church, of which he was an active member, all his life. Twenty years ago, on April 26, he was married to Miss Alma Stoelting, of Pekin. N.Y., and had been the proprietor of a general store in Niagara road ever since. He was also an active member of the Bergholtz Volunteer Fire company. Mr. Jagow is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alma Stoelting Jagow; one daughter, Dolores Jagow, of this village; his mother, Mrs Hulda Jagow, this village; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Camann, of this village, and Mrs. William Siegman of St. Johnsburg, N. Y., and three step brothers, John DeVantier, of Niagara Falls, N. Y. and Albert and William, of the Town of Wheatfield. The Rev. John Kuchenbecker officiated at the services. The school children in charge of H. W. Krage. sang. "Asleep In Jesus," at the church service. Interment was in Holy Ghost cemetery.

    She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Dolores) Hill of Cambria and two grandchildren, Stephen and Laurie Hill. Also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Louise Stoelting and Mrs. Martha Siegmann and many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19 in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz at 2 P.M. with the Rev. Stephen P. Roehrs officiating.     Memorial hospital, Niagara Falls,
    after a short illness. Mrs. Jagow

Mr. Stoelting was born in the town of Wheatfield and lived there and in Cambria all his life. He is survived by a wife, Anna; one son, Reinhold; a daughter, Mrs. Rudolph Jagow, Bergholz; three brothers, Albert and Julius Stoelting, Bergholz, and Herman Stoelting, North Tonawanda and one sister, Mrs. John Strassburg, Sanborn. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and half an hour later from the St. Andrew's Evangelical church at Pekin. Rev.     Wilhelmina Witkopp, 77 years old, died suddenly last night at her home on the Ward road, town of Wheatfield. Death was attributed to heart disease, with which she had been ailing recently. Mrs. Witkopp's husband, John Witkopp, died in May. Mrs. Witkopp was born in Germany. For the past 56 years she had resided in the town of Wheatfield. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Otto Stoelting of Cambria and Mrs. Christian Hoffmeister of North Tonawanda; two sons, Carl Witkopp of St. Johnsburg and William C. Goerss, of North Tonawanda; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence and half an hour later at the St. John's church, St. Johnsburg. Rev. Walter Thiemecke will conduct the services and interment will be in the St. John's cemetery.
