Ferdinand Millville was born at new Bergholtz, Niagara County, NY, February 25, 1849 and in 1866 accompanied his parents, (Philip and Augusta (Shultz) Milleville) to Effingham County, Ill, settling on 160 acres of land southwest of Altamont. His education had been secured in a German school in New York and he was reared to the life of a farmer, assisting his father on the home farm until he was 27 years of age. In March, 1876, he was married to Fredericka, daughter of Frederick and Dora (Shultz) Zellien, and after his marriage he settled on his present farm, a fine tract lying in section 17, Mound Township, where he has erected substantial modern buildings, and has been engaged in cultivating his land. He is a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church, a stanch Democrat in politics and one of the good and useful citizens of his locality. To Mr Milleville and his wife have been born three children: Adolph, of Mound Township married Emily Schultz; Henry, of Moccasin Township who married Malvina Goers; and Edward, at home. Mr Milleville's first wife died in Jun, 1904 and he was married (second) to Albertine Grobengieser. Fred Zellien, a brother of Mr Milleville's first wife, who has been a member of his household for a number of years, was born in Niagara County, NY in 1847 and came to Effingham County in 1866, when seventeen families made the trip from the same starting point with the same destination in view.
Johannes married ZELLIEN, Fredericka Dorothea in Mar 1876. Fredericka (daughter of ZELLIEN, Frederick and SCHULZ, Dora) was born on 13 Oct 1850 in Niagara County, NY; died on 23 Jun 1904 in Altamont, Effingham County, IL. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
