    ALTAMONT, Ill. - The Rev. Marcus C. Mueller. a Niagara Falls native and retired pastor, died Tuesday (Oct. 14, 1986) in Altamont, Ill. He was 74. He was born in Niagara Falls and lived there for 26 years. He was pastor of St. Paul's American Lutheran Church in Altamont from 1962 to 1976. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, of Altamont; sons, David of Fort Worth, Texas, and Theodore of Altamont; a daughter, Ruth, of Waldridge, Ohio; sisters, Mrs. Louise Buetell (sic) and Helen Mueller of Niagara Falls; brothers, Norman of Niagara Falls and Daniel of Elmsdale of Nova Scotia; and 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, the Rev. Henry Mueller, Paul Mueller and Albert Mueller. Services will be Sunday at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Kull Funeral Home.

    Gertrude Viola Hein Mueller, 91, of Altamont died on Thursday, September 22, 2011 being called home to be “ever with the Lord.â€� Together with the saints in heaven and on earth, she rejoices in the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord.
    Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Lutheran Care Center Chapel with Rev. James Fackler officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont and for one hour prior to service time on Tuesday. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA) Cemetery, Altamont. In lieu of flowers please consider giving a memorial to Lutheran Care Center. Gertrude Viola Hein Mueller was born June 20, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Reuben F. and Ruth (Netschert) Hein. She was baptized by her grandfather, Dr. C. C. Hein, then pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church (Columbus). She was confirmed at Trinity by the Rev. George Schultz. Gertrude graduated third in her class from South High School (Columbus) in 1937. She continued her education at Capital University (Columbus) where she met her future husband, Marcus C. Mueller, a seminary student from Niagara Falls, New York. They were married in the Seminary Chapel at Capital on December 3, 1939. Together they served many Lutheran churches: Grace, Howell MI; Zion, Ottawa Lake MI; St James, Bergholz NY; a two-point parish at Trinity-Carrollton and Emmanuel-Kilgore OH; Zion-Latchie, Perrysburg OH; St. Paul, Altamont IL; Faith, Augusta IL. In the late 1940s they coordinated the collection, packing and shipment of clothing and supplies to Lutheran missions in New Guinea. They originated and coordinated Vacation Bible School programs for several communities in New York, Ohio, and Illinois. Years later, many of her students still remember finger plays, songs, and Bible stories that she taught. Gertrude worked as an aide at Lutheran Care Center in the late 1960s and 1970s and later as a volunteer from the 1980s until teaching the last of “Gert’s Bible Studyâ€� on a Thursday morning in November 2010. She is survived by her sons David Mueller of Albuquerque, NM and Theodore Mueller of Altamont and her daughter Ruth Mueller Winter of Altamont as well as 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Gertrude Hein Mueller was the only granddaughter of Dr. C. C. Hein, the first president of American Lutheran Church, formed in 1930. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Ruth Netschert Hein; her husband of nearly 47 years, the Rev.     P A Mueller Paper-maker, Dies at 91
    Philip A. Mueller, 91, of 9859 Cayuga Drive, a lifelong resident of the LaSalle area and a former papermaker, died Tuesday (May 11, 1965). Born in the former Village
    of LaSalle Mr. Mueller worked 57 years in the paper making industry here,vhaving been employed at the old Pettibone Paper Co., Niagara Wallpaper Co., Defiance Paper Co. and the International Paper Co. He retired in 1952 at the age of 78.

    Mr. Mueller was an avid hunter and fisherman during his earlier years. He was a member of St James Lutheran Church in Bergholz, and for many years was active in the church choir and the band in which he played the clarinet. mr. Mueller is Mr. Mueller is survived by two daughters, Helen at home, and Mrs. Rudolph (Louise) Beutel, of Sanborn, six sons, Paul, Albert and Norman of Niagara Falls;

    Rites on Friday
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholtz, with Rev, Robert Lehman, officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave., from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday, and from noon Friday. The family said contributions
    to world missions services would be accepted as tributes.

    John Mueller, 89 years old, of LaSalle
    died yesterday at the home of his daugh-
    ter, Mrs. David Heuer in Bergholtz. He
    had been ill for about two weeks and
    death was due to heart disease and gen-
    eral breaking up due to his extremities.
    The funeral will be held Wednesday after-
    noon at 2 o'clock from his daughter's
    home and interment will be made in the
    cemetery at Bergholtz.
    Mr. Mueller was born at Grimm on the
    Ukernarck in Prussia in 1867 and set-
    tled in Bergholtz while still a young man.
    His wife died about 18 years ago. He is
    survived by eleven children; three sons,
    John, August and Philip or LaSalle, eight
    daughters, Mrs. Augusta Williams of La
    Salle, Mrs. Rosie Goerss and Mrs. Lydia
    Heuer of Wheatfield, Mrs. Martha Metz-
    ber of Oneida, Mrs. Annie Walck and Mrs.
    Lina Walck of Walmore and Mrs. Tina
    Collins and Mrs. Hulda Haseley of this
    city.
