    NORTH TONAWANDA - Irving E. G a t h, 33, of 580 Ward Road, died Sunday (March 27, 1966) in Sister's Hospital, Buffalo, after a short illness. He was a lifelong resident of this c i t y , a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the Laymen's Lutheran League. He was an employee of Trinity Tools Inc. and operated the Gath Landscaping Service. He is survived by his widow, the former Helen Walck; two sons, R a n d a l l and Robert Gath; and two daughters, Wendy and Kathleen Gath. all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gath, this city: three sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Alrene) Pat t e r s o n. Cleveland., Ohio; Mrs. Norman (Norma) Thorn, and Mrs. Nelson (Faith) Goodrich, and a brother Paul E. Gath. all of this city. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Rev. Loren J. Shiley officiating. Burial will be in St Marks Lutheran Cemetery.     Waldkoetter, Helen W.
    Helen W. Waldkoetter (Gath) (nee Walck) of North Tonawanda, was taken by Jesus to her Heavenly home on December 2, 2008 while in Niagara Hospice House, after a 12 year courageous battle with cancer. Helen was a graduate of the Buffalo General School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Unit at DeGraff Memorial Hospital until the early 1970’s. In the early 1980’s she began a career as a much loved tour escort in the travel industry as a co-founder of, The Way to Go Tours. She was a very active and devoted member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and for many years she worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections. She was the daughter of the late August and Eleaner Walck and was the wife of the late Irving Gath. Beloved wife of Jerry Waldkoetter; dear mother of Wendy (Thomas) Zuch, Randall (Lee) Gath, Kathleen (John) Fretthold, Robert (Edythe) Gath all of North Tonawanda, and Julie Waldkoetter of New York City. Grandmother of Daniel, Ryan, Cory, Lissa, Andrew, Allison, Joanna, Edward, Leah and the late Erin; step-grandmother of Kelly; great-grandmother of Hannah. Sister of Doris (Arthur) Toellner of Madison Heights, MI and the late Marion, Melvin, Norman, Chester and Frances; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday and Friday from 3-7 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 A.M. from St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Rev. Patrick McKenzie will officiate, interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Roswell Park Cancer Inst., Niagara Hospice or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure

    WALMORE, June 1 - Mr. and
    Mrs. Irving Gath, were married
    at St. Peter's Lutheran church,
    Walmore road. The bride is the
    former Helen Walck, Lockport
    road, daughter of the late Mr. and
    Mrs. August Walck. Mr. Gath is
    the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Gath,
    North Tonawanda.
    The Rev. Martin Pempeit read
    the ceremony in St. Peter's church,
    which was decorated with white
    carnations and snapdragons The
    bride was given in marriage by her
    brother, Melvin Walck. Miss
    Doris Walck, sister of the bride,
    was maid of honor. The best man
    was Ernest Scheibert, Chicago.
    Other attendants were the Misses
    Gertrude. Bechtel, Faith Gath and
    Jane DuBois. Chester Walck and
    James Krueger. Linda Pankow and
    David Thom were the flower girl
    and ring bearer.
    For her wedding dress. Miss
    Walck chose a gown fashioned of
    nylon tulle over satin, with a fit-
    ted bodice and cascades of em-
    broidered ruffles falling from the
    waist to form a cathedral train.
    She carried a bouquet of white
    roses and stephanotis.
    The bridesmaids were attired in

    nylon net in pastel shades of orchid
    and green.. The flower girl, wore a
    similar dress of. white net.
    A dinner for 65 guests was
    served at St. Mark's Lutheran
    church. North Tonawanda, and the
    wedding reception was held at
    the Bcrgholtz Community hall.
    Following a wedding trip
    through the New England states,
    Mr. and Mrs. Gath are at home,
    at 572 Ward, road, North Tonawanda.

    NORTH TONAWANDA - Fred A. Gath, 89, of 78 Washington St., a retired employe of the Buffalo Bolt Corp., died Friday evening (Nov. 27, 1959) at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Wolcottsville, Mr. Gath resided in this city for the last 75 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Gratwick Hose Co. No. 6 and the Firemen's Benevolent Assn. His wife, Johanna Gath, died in 1948. Surviving are two sons, Edward Gath, this city, and Elmer Gath, Wheatfield; three daughters.Mrs. Carl Allyn, Mrs. Paul Mix and Mrs. Kenneth Runge, all of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Doebler, Mrs. Edward Wienke and Mrs. Edward Strassburg, all of this city, and Mrs. John Herman, Tonawanda; a brother, Edward Gath, this city; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The Rev. Lauren Shiley will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m: Monday at the Fretthold Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.

    The homestead and a three-acre
    farm with all furnishings and
    equipment were left in equal shares
    to the son. William, another son,
    Erwin, and a daughter, Hulda
    Scheibert, all of 566 Ward road.
    Cash bequests of $1,000 each were
    made to the son, Erwin, and the
    daughter, Hulda.
    A bequest of $300 was made to a
    granddaughter, Gladys Atwater. of

    Walmore, N. Y.-Funeral services for Edward F. Retzlaff, of Walmore, N. Y., were held Tuesday from the home at 2 P.M. and at St. Peter's Lutheran church at 2:30. Burial was in the Walmore Cemetery. The bearers were Rudolph Retzlaff, Edward Walck, Alfred Walck, Howard Walck, Arthur DuBois, and Melvin Walck. Honorary bearers included Willis Retzlaff, Chester Walck, Emily Walck and Ruth Beutel.
    Mr. Retzlaff was born in Germany in 1862. He came to this country in 1880 and has since resided in Walmore. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Auguste Retzlaff, one son, Arthur and two daughters, Mrs. August Walck and Mrs. Felix Walck. He also left 11 grandchildren.
