Waldkoetter, Helen W.
Helen W. Waldkoetter (Gath) (nee Walck) of North Tonawanda, was taken by Jesus to her Heavenly home on December 2, 2008 while in Niagara Hospice House, after a 12 year courageous battle with cancer. Helen was a graduate of the Buffalo General School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Unit at DeGraff Memorial Hospital until the early 1970s. In the early 1980s she began a career as a much loved tour escort in the travel industry as a co-founder of, The Way to Go Tours. She was a very active and devoted member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and for many years she worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections. She was the daughter of the late August and Eleaner Walck and was the wife of the late Irving Gath. Beloved wife of Jerry Waldkoetter; dear mother of Wendy (Thomas) Zuch, Randall (Lee) Gath, Kathleen (John) Fretthold, Robert (Edythe) Gath all of North Tonawanda, and Julie Waldkoetter of New York City. Grandmother of Daniel, Ryan, Cory, Lissa, Andrew, Allison, Joanna, Edward, Leah and the late Erin; step-grandmother of Kelly; great-grandmother of Hannah. Sister of Doris (Arthur) Toellner of Madison Heights, MI and the late Marion, Melvin, Norman, Chester and Frances; aunt of many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday and Friday from 3-7 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 A.M. from St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Rev. Patrick McKenzie will officiate, interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Roswell Park Cancer Inst., Niagara Hospice or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure

WALMORE, June 1 - Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Gath, were married
at St. Peter's Lutheran church,
Walmore road. The bride is the
former Helen Walck, Lockport
road, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. August Walck. Mr. Gath is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Gath,
North Tonawanda.
The Rev. Martin Pempeit read
the ceremony in St. Peter's church,
which was decorated with white
carnations and snapdragons The
bride was given in marriage by her
brother, Melvin Walck. Miss
Doris Walck, sister of the bride,
was maid of honor. The best man
was Ernest Scheibert, Chicago.
Other attendants were the Misses
Gertrude. Bechtel, Faith Gath and
Jane DuBois. Chester Walck and
James Krueger. Linda Pankow and
David Thom were the flower girl
and ring bearer.
For her wedding dress. Miss
Walck chose a gown fashioned of
nylon tulle over satin, with a fit-
ted bodice and cascades of em-
broidered ruffles falling from the
waist to form a cathedral train.
She carried a bouquet of white
roses and stephanotis.
The bridesmaids were attired in
nylon net in pastel shades of orchid
and green.. The flower girl, wore a
similar dress of. white net.
A dinner for 65 guests was
served at St. Mark's Lutheran
church. North Tonawanda, and the
wedding reception was held at
the Bcrgholtz Community hall.
Following a wedding trip
through the New England states,
Mr. and Mrs. Gath are at home,
at 572 Ward, road, North Tonawanda.
