    GRABAU - Mrs. Martha Grabau, of 140 West North Street, Buffalo, Saturday, July 15, 1967, in the Carlton Nursing Home, Buffalo. Survived by her husband, Theodore D. Grabau, 4 Sons, Alvin J., of Fayetteville, N.Y., Rev. Harold T., of Buffalo, Edgar J., of North Tonawanda, and Dr. A. Arthur Grabau, of Kenmore; a daughter, Mrs. John (Norma) Thomas. of Buffalo. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Friends may call at The Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Road, North Tonawanda until 11 a.m. Monday, The body will be in state in the St. James Lutheran Church from noon until 2 p.m. Monday, time of service. The family will be in attendance at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rev. Robert Lehman will officiate. Interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Vespers or Lutheran World Action.

    NORTH TONAWANDA - Mrs, Martha Gellenthien Grabau of 140 West North St., Buffalo, died today (July 15, 1967) in the Carlton Nursing Home, Buffalo, after
    a long illness. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Women of the Church, Bergholz. Surviving are her husband, Theodore D. Grabau, who has been a teacher in St. James Lutheran Church School for more than 40 years. Also surviving are four sons, Alvin J. Grabau of Fayetteville, the Rev. Harold T. Grabau, Buffalo, Edgar Grabau of North Tonawanda, and Dr. A. Arthur Grabau, Kenmore; a
    daughter, Mrs. John (Norma) Thomas of Buffalo; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Friends may call until 11 a. m. Monday at the Fretthold Funeral Home here and from noon till 2 p.m.. at St. James Lutheran Church, at which time th service will be held. The Rev. Robert Lehman will officiate. Burial will be in St James Lutheran Cemetery.

    TO HONOR BERGHOLTZ COUPLE—Mr. and Mrs. Theodore
    D. Grabau will be feted at a reception this evening by the members
    of St. James Lutheran church, Bergholtz, in observance of their 50th
    wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Grabau were both" born in
    Buffalo and spent their early years in that city. They were married
    there in 1903. Mr. Grabau was a school teacher and came to
    Bergholtz in 1906 where he assumed the duties of teacher in the
    St. James' parochial school and served in that capacity for 40 years
    until his retirement in 1946. They were both active in church
    affairs with Mr. Grabau having served as church organist and
    choir director since 1906. He is in the insurance business in the
    Bergholtz area.

    Lutheran parochial schools in Buffalo
    and Wollcottssille, and in 1906
    was called as piincipal of St.
    James' school. Bergholtz. He ret
    red fiom active teaching in 1946
    bu: continues as church oiganist
    and choir director for the local
    congregation.
    The Grabaus five children, four
    sons and a daughter, ail returned
    home for the celebration

    vice president and treasurer of the
    Interstate Finance corporation.

    Loudonville, O., is a Reserve Army
    chaplain and pastor of Zion Lutheran
    church.

    is in the designing drafting
    department of the Stripit corporation.
    Dr. A. Arthur Grabau. Butfaio.
    is director of the Erie County Tuberculosis
    Control association.
    Their onlly daughter. Norma, now
    Mrs. John Thomas, resides in Buffalo.
