Services for Ruth E. Lemke, 81, of Niagara Falls Boulevard will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Lutheran Church, Ward Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Cambria.
The former Ruth Thorman died Saturday (March 5, 1994) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a long illness.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the St. John Ladies Aid Society, St. Johnsburg Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Adams Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Niagara County Firemen's Association Ladies Auxiliary, Western New York Firemen's
Association Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Firemen's Association of
the State of New York.
Her first husband, Herbert Behm, died in 1982.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin; two sons, Dale H. Behm of California and Dennis F. Behm of North Tonawanda; three daughters, Carol R. Beck of Wheatfield, Joyce A. Schwemler of Florida and Joann V. Gardei; a stepson, Roger Lemke of North Tonawanda; a stepdaughter, Diane Brennan; 17 grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren

A pretty wedding was solemnized
Saturday afternoon, September
4, at 4 o'clock in St. Peter's
Evangelical and Reformed church,
when Miss Ruthelnora A. Thorman,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Thorman of 223 East Felton
street, was united in marriage
to Herbert C. Behm, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Behm of Sixteenth
avenue, the Rev. T. H.
Twente, officiating.
The church was decorated with
large vases of gladioli. Mrs. Glen
Warblow,, organist, played the
wedding march. Before the ceremony,
Clarence Fischer sang, "At
Dawning," and after the ceremony,
"Because."
The bride, who entered the
church on the ar mof her father,
was lovely in a white satin gown,
fashioned in princess style with a
long train, a long veil falling from
a halo of starched lace and orange
blossoms, with heart-shaped lace
inserts forming the border of the
veil. She wore white satin slippers
and carried a shower bouquet of
white roses and gypsophila.
Miss Werth, Maid of Honor
The maid of honor, Miss Virginia
Werth, of Lockport, wore a
pink net dress over pink satin,
with a row of tiny blue velvet
bows down the front, white slippers
and a spray of pink flowers
in her hair. She carried a bouquet
o pink roses, delphinium and
.baby's breath, tied ith pink ribbon..
The bridesmaid, Mrs. _ Evelyn
Putnam, wore a yellow net dress
over yellow satin, with a row of
blue velvet bows down the front,
a spray of yello flowers in her
hair, white slippers and carried
a bouquet of yellow roses, delphinium
and baby's breath.
Elton Behm, cousin of the
groom, was best man. The ushers
were: Kenneth Moeller and William
Meyers.
The bride's mother wore a flowered
chiffon dress and the groom's
mother navy blue crepe with lace
bodice and sleeves. Each wore a
corsage of roses.
Mrs. Fred Nlcat, grandmother
of the bride, wore a black dress
with white lace yoke, also a corsage
of roses.
Dinner After Ceremony
Following the ceremony, a dinner
was given for twenty-six
guests at Tenbrook's in Kenmore.
Covers were laid for twelev at
the bride's table which was decorated
with mixed garden flowtall
hite tapers and centered
with a wedding cake. In the evening
a reception was held at the
home of the bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Behm left for a
motor trip to New York City and
Albany, and will be at home after
September 15th in Ruie road. The
bride's going away costume was
a brown suit, with beige blouse
and brown accessories.
