August J Proefrock, 83, of 7338 Ward Road, Town of Wheatfield, died Sunday (Oct 10, 1968) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Proefrock was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Paul Werth of the Town of Pendleton and Mrs. Robert Hardy of North Tonawanda, three sons, Earnest J., Albert A. and Howard, all of the Town of Wheatfield; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four brothers, John, Edward, William and George Proefrock, all of the Tonawandas, and two sisters, Mrs. Otto Weyers of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Lucy Mentor of Nevada. Friends may call at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. The family will be in attendance from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rev. Loren J. Shiley will officiate. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.

PROEFROCK – Lydia Proefrock, 77, of Ward Rd., Town of Wheatfield, died in a Buffalo hospital Friday (Dec. 25, 1959) after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, August J. Proefrock; three sons, Ernest J., Albert A. and Howard G., all of the Town of Wheatfield; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Werth of the Town of Pendleton and Mrs. Robert Hardy of North Tonawanda; also surviving are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., where services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Loren J. Shiley will officiate. Interment in Acacia Park.

Man Struck By Train, Killed
NORTH TONAWANDA, July 8.-Believed to have been struck by a southbound passenger train of the New York Central railroad's Niagara Falls branch at the Washington street crossing, the lifeless body of Christian Proeforck (sic), 74 years old, of 44 Stenzil (sic) street, was found this afternoon in a ditch beside the railroad track. The body was badly mangled and was ordered removed to Ramp's funeral home, in Adams street, by Coroner Jacob Helwig, who investigated the accident. He said that there were indications that the man was struck on the crossing and had been dead about an hour. It was learned that there is a southbound train which passes over the New York Central tracks at that point at about noon and authorities believe that this train struck the man, its crew unaware of the accident. He is survived by his wife, Wilhelmina Proeforck (sic); five sons, John, of Tonawanda, August, of St. Johnsburg, and Edward, William and George, of North Tonawanda; three daughters, Mrs. Philip Witkopf and Mrs. Rudolph Blank, of Walmore, Mrs. Arnold Weyers, of North Tonawanda; one brother, August, of North Tonawanda, and one sister, Mrs. Gustave Schendel, of Nashville. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 3:30 o'clock from the home and 4 o'clock from St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran church. Interment will be in St. Mark's cemetery, Niagara Falls boulevard.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Proefrock, 85, died yesterday afternoon at her home, 44
Stenzel street. Born in Germany, she had resided in North Tonawanda 76
years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Philip Witkop and Mrs. Louise
Blank of Walmore and Mrs. Otto Weyers of North Tonawanda; five sons, john of
Tonawanda and August, Edward, William and George of North Tonawanda; 24
grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren., and a sister, Mrs. Edward Smith.
Rites will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 from the residence and at 2:30 from
the St. Mark's Lutheran church. The Rev. Paul Fretthold will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mark's cemetery.

John Stenzel, 76 years old, died this morning at his home on the Ward road, Town of Wheatfield. Born in Germany, he came to America at the age of 14 and resided in the town of Wheatfield for the past 62 years. He is
survived by three sons, Edward, Albert and Ernest Stenzel, North Tonawanda, a daughter, Mrs. August Proefrock, Lockport, and 14 grandchildren. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence and half a hour later at the St. John's church, St. Johnsburg, Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be at St. John's cemetery.
