    Charles Franke, 65 years ,old. 2110
    Twenty-second street, died early this
    morning In Memorial hospital, following
    a short illness. Mr. Franke,
    who was a plaster by trade, was
    well known In the city. He had lived
    here for 52 years, having come directly
    to Niagara Falls from his birthplace
    In Blankenburg. Ocrmany,
    Surviving him are his wife. Mrs.
    Catherine Franke; two sons, Ambrose
    E. And William O. Franke; a daughter,
    Mrs. John Ornce; a sister, Mrs.
    Emma Brown, and two brothers. Otto
    and Gustav Franke, all of this city.
    Mr. Franke was a member of the
    Exempt Firemen's association; a member
    of Plasterers' Union, No. 173; a
    member of the German-Amerlcan
    Vercln and A member of the Order of
    Orange, No. 79.
    Funeral arrangements Are being
    completed today.

    Niagara Gazette - 2/19/1943

    Mrs. Catherine Franke. widow of
    Charles Franke, 822 Pierce avenue,
    died in the Buffalo General hospital
    yesterday afternoon. She was
    73 years old.
    A native of Ireland. Mrs. Franke
    had resided in this city for many
    years. She was a member of Niagara
    Frontier Chapter, No. 858, Order of
    the Eastern Star; Niagara Falls
    Court, No. 30, Order of the Amaranth,
    and Messiah Shrine, No. 18,
    White Shrine of Jerusalem.
    She Is survived by two sons and
    a daughter. Ambrose and William
    Franke and Mrs. John Grace, and
    four grandchildren, all of this city.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the Bell chapel at 3 p. m. tomorrow,
    under Eastern Star auspices, with
    the Rev. Arthur H. Schmoyer officiating.
    Burial will be in Oak wood
    cemetery.
