    Leonard R. Wunderlich passed away February 24, 2021. Born July 15, 1936 in Albion, NY, he was raised by Augusta Weiler.
    He was a graduate of Akron High School and served in the US Army from 1959-1962. Leonard worked for 29½ years at Consolidated Freightways in Tonawanda where he retired as a freight handler.
    He was a member of Good Shepherd Church in Pendleton and Euchre League at Brauers in Pendleton. Leonard enjoyed playing cards, golfing, sports, and was an avid New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.
    Leonard is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Hebeler) Wunderlich; children, David (Carol), Michael, Thomas (Kristen), Craig Wunderlich, and Marcia (late Frank) Augugliaro; grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, Aaron Wunderlich, Kari (David) Phillips, Kristine Nye, Justin Nye, Alyssa, Bradley Wunderlich, Wesley and Yasmeen Wunderlich; five great-grandchildren.

    Elizabeth T. Wunderlich passed away January 25, 2024 at Niagara Hospice House.  Born September 29, 1934 in North Tonawanda she was the daughter of Rainer and Genevieve (Donner) Hebeler.  Elizabeth was a registered nurse for 40 years working at Lockport Memorial Hospital.  She was predeceased by her husband Leonard R. Wunderlich.
    Elizabeth is survived by her children David (Carol), Michael, Thomas (Kristen), Craig Wunderlich, and Marcia (late Frank) Augugliaro; grandchildren Nathan, Brandon, and Aaron Wunderlich, Kari (David) Phillips, Kristine and Justin Nye, Alyssa (Dakota) Coon, Bradley Wunderlich, Wesley and Yasmeen Wunderlich; five great grandchildren; siblings Donald Hebeler, William (late Carole) Hebeler, Robert (Louise) Hebeler, Rosemary (late Eugene) Knab, and the late Virginia (late Clyde) Rankie; also several nieces and nephews.

    TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Betty Jane (Schoenthal) Ziemendorf, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, died Tuesday June 8, 2010, in the DeGraff Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Betty Jane was born in Buffalo, NY on February 8, 1939, the daughter of Dorothy (Gilbert) Schoenthal and the late Harold Schoenthal. She resided in the Town of Elma as a child, where she attended local schools and was a member of the second graduating class of the Iroquois Central High School, in 1957. She moved to the Town of Wheatfield following her marriage to Lloyd V. Ziemendorf in 1962. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church North Tonawanda, NY, where she was current president of the Congregational Council of the church and active in Synodical activities. She was the former Office Manager of Frontier Co-op Fire Insurance Association and had served as Office Manager, Commercial Underwriter and Vice President of United Frontier Mutual Insurance Co., prior to her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, especially quilting for Project Linus, for Children's Hospital, and making Prayer Shawl's for Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Spending time in the garden and being with family was most important to her, especially with her grandchildren. Betty Jane is survived by her mother, Dorothy; her husband of 48 years, Lloyd; her three children, David Ziemendorf, Carol (David) Wunderlich, and Donald (Melissa) Ziemendorf; three brothers, Ray (Dorothy) Schoenthal, Harvey (June) Schoenthal and David (Linda) Schoenthal; loving grandmother of Sara (Joshua), Lindsay, William, Nathan, Austin, Brandon, and Aaron; and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Bryn and Nicholas Ziemendorf. The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road on Saturday, from 7-9 PM, Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 64 East Felton Street, North Tonawanda, NY. Interment will be in the Wheatfield Cemetery.
