TOWN OF WHEATFIELD~ William R. Ziemendorf, 73, of Ward Road, died Monday (April 19,1993) in Mount St. Mary 's Hospital after a long illness.
A native of the Town of Wheatfield he was born May 8, 1919 to Reinhard and Alma (Wendt) Ziemendorf, now deceased.
Mr. Ziemendorf was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving from 1942 until 1946. He was employed at Wendt's Dairy in Niagara Falls as a plant engineer for 37 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn, where he served as Elder and Treasurer. He was also a lay delegate of the Eastern District Church Council (sic) of the American Lutheran Church. He was a member of the National Association of Power Engineers, the Western New York Historical Society and the. American Legion Post No. 969 in Sanborn, where he was treasurer 30 years. He was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire Company. He was past president of the Niagara Falls Chapter of the Lay Society Diabetic Association. He. was a former member of the Town of Wheatfield Board of Assessment Review.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Patterson) Ziemendorf of the Town of Wheatfield; two daughters, Beverly J. Ziemendorf and Sarah A. Coffey, both of Sanborn; two sons, Robert W. Ziemendorf of Scarborough, Ont., and Brian L. Ziemendorf of Niagara Falls; a sister, Elizabeth Milleville of Sanborn; a brother, Lloyd V. Ziemendorf of Niagara Falls; and seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jane Ziemendorf.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, with the Rev. Allen Griep officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Wheatfield. Memorials maybe made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Building Fund or the Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc., P.O. Box 241, Sanborn, N.Y. 14132.

A native of Wheatfield, Ziemendorf served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 and was a member of Post 969, American Legion, in Sanborn, where he was treasurer for 30 years. He was a plant engineer at Wendt's for 37 years, retiring in 1984.

Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Betty P. Ziemendorf (Patterson), age 83, of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, formerly of Sanborn, entered into rest on Monday, May 5, 2008, while at the facility. Born in Ithaca, NY, on April 1, 1925 to the late Henry and Bessie (Rolfe) Patterson. She was a longtime member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Walmore and was a past treasurer of both the church and school. Betty was employed at Gellman and Gellman Attorneys and as a business manager at WHLD Radio. She was a member of the American Legion Sanborn Post 969 Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, quilting and reading. Survivors include four children, Beverly J. Ziemendorf of Sanborn, Robert W. (Shirley) Ziemendorf of Scarborough, Ontario, Brian L. (Carol) Ziemendorf of Niagara Falls and Sarah A. Coffey of Sanborn; seven grandchildren, Jason (Petra) Coffey, Ryan (Michael) Keaton, Erin Coffey, Eric Ziemendorf, Matthew (Amanda) Ziemendorf, Peter Ziemendorf and Michael Ziemendorf; two brothers, Russell (Geraldine) Patterson and Merle (late Elsie) Patterson, both of Ithaca; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Betty Jane) Ziemendorf and sister-in-law, Elizabeth (late Albert) Milleville. She was predeceased by her husband, William R. Ziemendorf on April 19, 1993. They were united in marriage November 18, 1944; four brothers, Ralph, Lawrence, Kenneth and Minor Patterson; and two sisters, Alice Patterson and Claire Lewton.Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Henry T. Patterson, 87, of 708 Edgewater Drive, Tonawanda, father of a Sanborn resident, died unexpectedly Saturday (March 27, 1971) at home. Born in this area, he had lived in Tonawanda for a year and-a-half, after moving from Ithaca. Survivors include his wife, Bessie E. Roise Patterson; six sons, Ralph, Russell, and Merle Patterson, all of Ithaca, Lawrence Patterson of Erie, Pa., Kenneth Patterson of Cleveland, and Minor Patterson of West Minster, Calif.; three daughters Mrs. Alice Anderhalt of Tonawanda, Mrs. John (Clara) Lewton of Ithaca, and Mrs. William (Betty) Ziemendorf. of Sanborn, and 23 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Carlton A. Ullrich Funeral Home Inc., 3272 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Ithaca. Hold Funeral of Bergholz Woman, Last Rites for Mrs. Ziemendorf Largely Attended
BERGHOLZ. July 31. - The passing of Mrs. Wilhelmine Ziemendorf, who died after a weeks illness, last Thursday afternoon at her home on the Buffalo-Falls boulevard near the Ward road at the age of 69 years, removes one of the most popular residents of this vicinity, whose life was in every respect an exemplification of Christianity and civility. Mrs. Ziemendorf was born in Germany on November 25th, 1859, but came to this country when seven years of age, and lived in Michigan with her parents for some time, but later came to this vicinity, and has resided here for many years. Being of a kind and loving character ,she not only endeared herself to her own family, but also to every one with whom she came in contact. Mrs. Ziemendorf had been in good health until. about a week before her death, when she was taken ill with a stroke. The funeral services were held from her late residence on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and at 3:00 o'clock from the St. John's Lutheran church, the Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating.
Interment was In the Holy Ghost cemetery on Niagara street, this village.
The deceased is survived by two sons; Albert of St. Johnsburg, Reinhard
of the Ward road, near this village, two daughters, Mrs. Adeline Gombert
and Miss Minnie Ziemendorf at home and two sisters, Mrs. Albertine
Elliot of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Fred Kamp of Romeo, Mich. The floral offerings
were many and beautiful.

William Wendt.
The funeral of William Wendt was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence on Lockport avenue and a half an hour later at St. Paul's church in Martinsville. The services were conducted bv Rev. William T. Schmidt and were largely attended. Burial was in the St. Paul's cemetery. The pallbearers were: A. W. Babel, John Ziehl, August Martin, John Jagow, August Errick and Charles Fehrman, residents of Martinsville and the Town of Wheatfield.

Mrs. Elizabeth Wendt, nee Maillefert, aged 83 years, died yesterday morning in her home, 692 Falls boulevard. Born in Buffalo, she had resided in North Tonawanda the past 22 years.
