    LOCKPORT — Ida C.
    Behrens, 82, of 47 Lewis St.,
    died at Buffalo General Hospital
    Sunday (Sept. 6, 1970) after a
    short illness.
    A native of Altanont, 111., she
    was born Dec. 7, 1887, the
    daughter of Julius and Anna
    Muchow Stolzenburg.
    She was a resident of this
    city for the past 60 years.
    She was the widow of Herman
    L. Behrens who died in 1952.
    She is survived by a son, Paul
    J. Behrens, and a daughter,
    Mrs. Bertram (Betty) Howlette,
    both of this city; a sister, Miss
    Anna Stolzenburg of this city,
    and a brother Albert Stolzenburg
    of North Tonawanda, three
    grandchildren, two great-great
    grandchildren and s e v e r al
    nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call from 2 to
    4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Prudden
    and Kandt Funeral Home where
    services will be conducted at
    11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev.
    Carl W. Oldach.
    Burial will be in Wright's
    Corners Cemetery.

    Is St. and the late Mr. Behrens
    for her marriage to Bertram Howlett,
    son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
    Howled of Freedom, at 6 o'clock
    Saturday evening, April 14, In Trinity
    Lutheran Church.
    The Rev. Herman E. Meier and
    the Rev. Ernest E. Heuer officiated
    at the ceremony before an altar
    set with gold vases of calla
    lilies. Baskets of snapdragons and
    calla lilies, and palms formed the
    background.
    Paul Behrens gave his sister in
    marriage. A matching lace hat
    complemented her ensemble and
    she carried a cascade arrangement
    of lily-of-the-valley and tulle, cen
    tered by an orchid and tied with
    white and orchid ribbons.
    CARRIES FLORABUNDA
    A waltz-length gown of turquoise
    crystalette with a matching straw
    headband was worn by the matron
    of honor, Mrs. Norman Higgs.
    Her flowers were American beauty
    florabunda with a background of
    white tulle and tied with narrow
    white ribbon.
    Paul Hawks of Batavia attended
    the groom as best man and ushers
    were John J. Ball and Hugh
    Rowley.
    Organ musk at the church was
    played by Mrs. Karl Kandt and
    Miss Betty Bailee of Chicago was
    soloist.
    For her daughter's wedding.
    Mrs. Behrens selected a dress of
    navy lace with a navy and white
    flowered hat. Her corsage was of
    pale yellow cymbidium orchids.

    Mrs. Howlett wore navy crepe
    with a pink hat and white cymbidium
    orchids.
    WEDDING RECEPTION
    Following a reception at the
    home of the bride, Mr. and
    Mrs. Howlett left for a wedding
    trip to Washington. The bride
    wore a navy silk dress, with
    matching accessories and a white
    hat. An orchid corsage completed
    her ensemble. They will reside at
    47 Lewis St.
    Out-of-town guests were from
    Buffalo, Batavia, TonawanCa,
    Rochester. Chicago, Chippawa and
    St. Catharines, Ont.
    The bride is a graduate of Lockport
    High School and the groom
    was graduated from St. Bonaven
    ture College. He served with the
    Air Force.
    Pre-nuptial events included a
    variety shower given by Mrs. Raymond
    Crowe, bathroom shower by
    Mrs. Al Scarce and Mrs. Hugh
    Rowley, linen shower by Miss
    Ruth Krause and Mrs. Higgs. Mrs
    Audrey Doyle and Miss Betty Pedley
    entertained at a variety shower
    and a personal shower and
    luncheon was given by Miss
    Yvonne C. Smith and Miss Krause.
    Mr. and Mrs. John J. Ball were
    hosts at a couples' party.

    FUNERAL TOMORROW
    Last Rites for Julius Stolzenburg Well Known Resident.
    BERGHOLTZ, April 19. -Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday afternoon for Julius Stolzenburg, 80 years old, who died Monday night at his home, Niagara Falls Boulevard.
    Mr. Stolzenburg was a leading Democrat in North Tonawanda for many years. He served several terms on the Common Council and was committee man from his district a number of years. He was president of the German-American Fire Insurance Association at the time of his death.
    Born in Germany, Mr. Stolzenburg had lived in this vicinity 32 years. He is survived by five sons, August, Julius, Albert, Edgar and Clarence Miller (sic); five daughters, Mrs. Sophia Radloff and Mrs. Charles Wurl, North Tonawanda; Mrs. Rose Hoffmeister, Mrs. Herman Behrns and Miss Anna Stolzenburg, all of Lockport; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 o'clock at the home and half an hour later at St. Paul's Church. The Rev. F. A. Hiners will officiate and burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
