Violet R. Strassburg. 55, of Albion. N.Y., formerly of North Tonawanda, Sunday (April 23,1978) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness, Mrs. Strassburg was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, August Strassburg; two sons Terry (Carol) Strassburg, of Kansas City, Kansas. Gary (Janice) Strassburg of Niagara Falls, N.Y. two grandchildren David and Amanda; her mother Mrs. Elenora Mellenthine of North Tonawanda and a brother Calvin Mellenthine of Kenmore. The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in St. Mark Lutheran Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn will officiate. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, memorials, may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or to the Leukemia Society.

Strassburg-Mellenthine Rites Took Place in Church at Sioux Falls, S.D.
Miss Violet Mellenthine, daughter of Mrs. Eleonora Mellenthine and Private August F. Strassburg, son of Mrs. Emma Strassburg were married Wednesday afternoon, November 3, at 1:30 oclock in the Zion Lutheran church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. A. Troenel of Sioux Falls.
The bride was lovely in her gown of white satin, and net skirt. A sweetheart neckline and three-quarter length sleeves completed the dress. Her veil of illusion was held by a juliet cap, and she carried a bouquet of white asters and roses. The groom is serving with the armed forces at the air base at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Her only attendant, Mrs. Hugo Belling, the former Marjorie Butzbach, was matron of honor. She wore a dusty blue taffeta dress with a spray of blue flowers in her hair, and carried a bouquet of yellow asters and roses.
P. F. C. Wilbert Ostwald of Ward road, Niagara Falls, N. Y., who is stationed at Sioux Falls was best man.
The reception was held at Carpenter Hotel.
Mrs. August Strassburg and Mrs. Hugo Belling will return shortly and the bride will make her home with her parent for the duration.
