NIAGARA FALLS — Everen G. Strassburg, of Niagara Falls, New York, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. He was born in Pekin, New York, on December 20, 1922, and was the son of the late William G. and Emma E. (Trippensee) Strassburg.
Mr. Strassburg graduated from LaSalle High School in 1941. He served with the US Army, during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Strassburg was employed as a manager with the Electro-Minerals Division of the Carborundum Company for over 43 years, before retiring in 1985. He served as a longtime member of the Niagara Wheatfield School District Board of Education and for a time as the President. He belonged to the Pekin Fire Company for many years and played the trumpet in the fire company's band. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Pekin as a youth that was founded by his grandfather. Recently, he was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Mr. Strassburg is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hope A. (Forster) Strassburg; two sons, Bruce E. (Denise) Strassburg of Wilson, NY, and Chris B. (Sheila) Strassburg of Lewiston, NY; and four daughters, Heather R. (H.Cal) Squires of Sarasota, FL, Jennifer A. Strassburg of Salt Lake City, UT, Valorie A. (Kevin) Marrott of Ellisville, MO, and Layne M. (Larry) O'Bryant of Puyallup, WA. He is also survived by one brother, Myrlin K. (late Betty) Strassburg of Wheatfield; and by twenty grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harland and Orville Strassburg and Verna Farquharson.
The family will be present on Saturday for visitation from 10-11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Legion Post #969, Sanborn, NY or to the Pekin Fire Co., 3024 Upper Mountain Rd., Sanborn, NY 14132.

setting on Saturday for the marriage
ceremony of Miss Hope Audentla
Forster. daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Archibald Forster, to Mr.
Everen G. Strassburg, son of Mr.
and Mrs. William Strassburg. Sanborn.
Dr. Percy L. Weeger officiated at
the double ring ceremony.
The church was d e c o r a t ed
throughout with white pompons
and tall candelabra with the pews
marked with holly and white satin
bows.
Mr. Stuart Turner sang "At
Dawning" and "Because." accompanied
by Mrs. George Landes at
the organ.
The bride, who entered the church
on the arm of her father, was
gowned in traditional white satin.
Her veil of illusion fell from a
tiara of silver and pearls. She
carried an arm bouquet of wnlte
roses and stevia.
The wedding party Included Mrs.
Archibald Forster, Jr., sister-in-law
of the bride, matron of honor; Miss
Darlene Dunn, cousin of the bride.
Junior bridesmaid, Naomi Forster
and her cousin Penelope Forster;
Mr. Myrlln Strassburg, brother of
the bridegroom as best man; Mr.
Edwin. Forster, brother of the bride,
and Mr. Robert Wendt, ushers.
A reception for more than 200
was held at the Park hotel In Lockport.
For traveling the bride wore green
faille with brown accessories and
a corsage of roses.
After a trip through the New
England states, Mr. and Mrs.
Strassburg will reside in Lewlston
