Gail L. (Murphy) Wendt, age 66 of Sanborn, NY, went home peacefully to be with the Lord, on Tuesday August 30, 2005 surrounded by her loving husband and children, while at the CrestWood Health Care Center.
She was born in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY on July 7, 1939, the daughter of Rosina Verrall Murphy of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY, and the late Bert Murphy, where she attended local schools. Gail was a graduate of the North Tonawanda High School in the Class of 1957. She had been employed in the offices of Spalding Fiber, Tonawanda; Twin-Ton, North Tonawanda; Jenss Bros., Niagara Falls; and the former Thiele's Diary, North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY.
Gail was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Martinsville, where she had served as President of the Ladies Aid Society, a member of the Board of Christian Education; a member of the church choir; and had worked in the School cafeteria for many years.
She was an avid reader who enjoyed being with her family, going traveling and camping.
Surviving in addition to her mother Rosina Murphy is her husband of 45 years, Forrest W. Wendt; a daughter, Michele [ Otto III ] Fetterhoff, of Mountverde, FL; a son, Timothy [ Lynne ] Wendt, of Grand Island, Erie County, NY; a sister, Patricia Domagala, of East Amherst, Erie County, NY; four brothers: James Murphy and Roger Murphy, both of North Tonawanda; Douglas Murphy of Chautauqua Lake, NY and Paul Murphy, of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY; her special grandchildren, Philip and Megan Wendt; Hans and Alexander Fetterhoff; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road, from 7 - 9 PM Wednesday and 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM, Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 AM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, with the Rev. Karl Heauseler, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Handicap Access Fund, 453 Old Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, 14120.

(Nov. 29, 1971) in a Buffalo
hospital after a long illness.
Born in Detroit, Mich., he
came to this village in 1901,
operating a dairy farm here for
many years.
His father, the late William
Wendt, tapped the first gas
well in Niagara County in 1927,
and in 1938 Mr. Wendt and his
brothers began operating the
Wendt Brothers Gas Co.
The company supplied
Sanborn residents with gas
until 1956, when the franchise
was sold to the Iroquois Gas
Co.
Mr. Wendt also worked for a
time at the Buffalo Pump Co.
as a machinist.
A member of St. Paul's
Evangelical Lutheran Church,
North Tonawanda, he was an
exempt member of. the Sanborn
Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his widow
Grace Wendt; seven sons,
Donald Wendt of Niagara
Falls, and Marvin, Bertrum,
Glenn, Kenneth, Forrest and
William B. Wendt Jr., and a
daugher, Mrs.John(Gracellyn)
Bilek, all of Sanborn.
Also surviving are two
brothers, Alton Wendt of
Lockport and Arnold Wendt of
Niagara Falls; a sister, Mrs.
Benjamin (Laura) Walck Sr. of
Sanborn, 25 grandchildren a/id
four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
at St. Paul's Evangelical
Lutheran Church, North
Tonawanda, Thursday at 2:30
p.m., with the Rev. Matthew
Pushkar officiating. Burial
plans have not been completed.

Rosina S. (nee Verrall) (Murphy) Richert, age 94, of North Tonawanda, Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Seneca Health Care Facility, in West Seneca,surrounded by her loving family. Born in Thorold, Ontario, she had been a resident of North Tonawanda for more than 75 years and was the wife of Bert J. Murphy, former North Tonawanda Common Councilman and Niagara County Legislator, who died in 1981, and Louis Richert, who died in 1994; and was the mother of Gail Wendt, who died in 2005. Rosina was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Michael) Domagala of East Amherst and four sons, James R. Murphy of the Town of Wheatfield, Roger T. (Sharon) Murphy of North Tonawanda, Douglas (Jean) Murphy of Sherman, NY, and Paul (Mary Jo) Murphy of North Tonawanda; a son-in-law, Forrest Wendt of Sanborn, NY; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (the late Bernard) Verrall of North Tonawanda. Rosina was predeceased by 12 siblings. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 3-8 PM at John O. Pioneer Resident Is Laid to Rest
SANBORN, Feb. 23-The funeral of William F. Wendt, 76, who died Saturday at his home in Saunder's (sic) Settlement road, was held from the home yesterday at 2:30 p. m. and at St. Peter's church, at Walmore, at 3 o'clock and was attended by a large gathering of relatives and friends.
The bearers included: Ben Wendt, Philip Wendt, Robert Wendt, Edwin Beutel. Rudolph Beutel and William Beutel. Flower bearers were Donald Wendt, Merwyn (sic), Wendt, Ben Walck, Jr., and Lawrence Walck. The Rev. Edward A. Graubau (sic) was the officiating Clergyman. Interment was in St. Peter's cemetery, Walmore.

Mrs. Wm. Wendt. Daughter of Wm. Beutel and his wife Henrietta, née Fahrnwald. Born Mar 19, 1870. Attended our Christian Day School. Confirmed may 14, 1883, by Pastor John Grabau. Jan 9, 1890 married to Wm. Wendt, who died Feb 19, 1938, had 5 children. Right after marriage, moved to Detroit Mich, there until 1901, then moved to present home of Alton Wendt, near Sanborn where she died. Jan. 3 lapsed into a coma and fell asleep Sun. morning Jan 7 (at) 3:25. Survivors: 3 sons, Alton and Wm. of Sanborn, Arnold of Bergholz; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ben Wendt Sr. of Sanborn and Mrs. Edna Walck of Median; 25 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Suffered from hardening of the arteries which it seems weakened her brain and affected her mind, this was already apparent about 15 yrs. ago, but was serious only in the past 6 yrs. or so. Was taken care of in home of her son Alton. Whole service was in Eng. Text: Is. 55:6-9

The funeral of William Wendt was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence on Lockport avenue and a half an hour later at St. Paul's church in Martinsville. The services were conducted bv Rev. William T. Schmidt and were largely attended. Burial was in the St. Paul's cemetery. The pallbearers were: A. W. Babel, John Ziehl, August Martin, John Jagow, August Errick and Charles Fehrman, residents of Martinsville and the Town of Wheatfield.

Mrs. Elizabeth Wendt, nee Maillefert, aged 83 years, died yesterday morning in her home, 692 Falls boulevard. Born in Buffalo, she had resided in North Tonawanda the past 22 years. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Reinhardt Ziemendorf of the town of Wheatfield, Mrs. Walter Strassburg and Miss Elizabeth Wendt of Niagara Falls, Mrs. William Wendt of the town of Cambria and Mrs. Vernon Steele of Kenmore; two sons, Edwin of Niagara Falls and Alvin at home; 19 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister, Miss Dorothy Maillefert of Cambria. Rites will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the residence and half an hour later at the St. Paul?s church, Martinsville, the Rev. F. A. Hinner officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul?s Cemetery.

DIEDRICH - Louise F. (nee Dornfeld) Diedrich, 89, of North Tonawanda, Tuesday (July 26, 1977) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after several months illness. A native of North Tonawanda, she was the sister of Herbert Dornfeld who died in 1975 and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of the Church. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Lurene M. Murphy; two sons, Bert J. (Rosina) Murphy and Thomas R. (Joan) Murphy, all of North Tonawanda ; three sisters , Mrs. E. L. Beightol of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. A. J. Danahy and Mrs. R. C. Robertson, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; nine grandchildren and eight g r e a t grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John O.
